Asked for the color--don't even get me started: I picked a shade from the samples they showed me, but when they applied it, it didn't even match. I had started going to this place because the salon I used to visit now operates by appointment only and no longer accepts walk-ins. I really don't want to do this review, but I been on pain on my feet already for so long, understand accidents happen but is inaceptable when you pay for service want to treat yourself for a moment and this happens.

Most places I've been to, I make an appointment but still have to wait sometimes up to 20-30 minutes. My technician was Lexi. She was very detailed and meticulous. I did a French signature pedicure and dip French manicure. She made sure to take what I actually wanted into consideration without making me second guess. You know how you go to places and you say one thing that you want and the technician goes, "it will be better this way" or "I think you should just do this". She didn't do that at all and I appreciated that a lot. All in all I will 100% be returning to this salon. Lexi is great!

Sam who did my nails cut me and I tried to stop him many times and asked him to wash my hands he said wait till he finishes shaping. I said ok. Once I washed my hands I asked for alcohol. Sam gave me some alcohol. I'm trying to not get an infection because the cut is deep. Then I go to pay. My total was $55 and when I was about to make the payment I see that the machine says $56.10. I asked the guy behind the desk why is it $56.10 and he said there is a 2% card fee. I told him you can't surcharge debit card transactions because it is illegal and to take off the fee. He refused. He said there is no way for him to do it. I said you can adjust the $55 to make it $55 with the fee. He said no. I tried to explain to him again that they can be fined for this and that I can file a complaint with visa for refusing to take off the fee and for charging debit card fees. He said to me do you want me to call the cops so you can file a complaint and took the phone pretending to dial 911. I told him you don't file a complaint with the police but visa and Mastercard. I asked for the owners phone number and name and he refused to provide it to me. So he wanted me to call the police to report this. I am in disbelief. I will file a complaint with visa. Forgot to take a pic the day my nails were done, so the pic featured in this review is over 2 weeks old and still holding on strong. Found Pro Nails on Yelp and it's located across the street from Gurnee Mills Mall. I called and I was able to get scheduled for a pedicure and a full set in the next 30 minutes which was great. I was pleasantly surprised when I entered. From the outside, the salon didn't look like much. But coming in it was vibrant and busy, and pretty spacious. Terri was the one assigned to me to do a pedi first. She did a great job on my pedicure. I just got the basic pedi with a no chip polish. Terri was very efficient and did a great job on my toes. Next - full set time. It's been a while since I got a set done, so I wanted something that was neutral. I showed Terri a picture of the ombré set I wanted and she did a good job. I usually judge a nail tech by their speed, the nail shape and how well they can file to precision, and how natural the nail looks after and whether or not it looks too thick. Terri did a great job with all of the above. My only critique is that she left some gel residue under the nail and also on my fingertips.
