Have been going here for a while & its been going downhill but today was the absolute worst!! Day before my daughters wedding I go in for a mani pedi she literally ripped all the skin off the side of my foot. I'm saying Ouch Ouch & she kept going then tired to hide it from me by placing straight alcohol on it like nothing happened. Now it hurts terribly & how am I supposed to wear shoes. Not very happy with this place. One time I went, she made my toe bleed and pulled a piece of my nail off, then put that piece on my FOOT. Ew. Today I went and the paint job on my toenails is very sloppy and my nails were not filed well. I'm going to have to go home and fix them so they're not so jagged. Not coming back here, unfortunately. Nice people and the foot massage felt good but not worth the $30 plus tip. I'd just buy a nail polish from the store and do it myself before getting a crappy paint job again. read more

I got a no chip manicure, they did sloppy work And rushed service. To top it off my nails started chipping as soon as I left the salon. I called and was told I could come back and have them done again. I came back, had them redone and they started chipping within hours again. Never going back to this place. read more

Super disappointed in my service today with Loi. I am not one to complain but my full set was brutally painful. I have cuts on my wrists from the filer, I have cuts along my fingers and jumped and told him it hurt. He continued. They tried telling me I can't have a refund which is BS. I just spent $65 for a pedicure and my full set and was uncomfortable and In pain the whole time. Not to mention my massage of my legs hurt so bad as well. I'm getting bruising from it. I will not be returning. I don't recommend and hope they make some changes there to provide amazing service like they used to. DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE AT ALL!!! I went in on Friday the 28 to do my nails I got a full set no chip and come the next day all my nails where lifting so I called on Monday to have em fixed they refused to take me the day of told me to come back the next day tuesday. I come in and he says you are here for a a full set i said no Im here to get my nails fixed. The nail tech was very upset and had a attitude that I was back he looked at the nails and said I'm going to re do them I said fine. He then removed all my polish and lays new acrylic down. I get my nails done very often I know the routine and he was very sloppy with my nails rushing and seemed very unhappy to do my nails because I had came back to get em fixed. I will never be coming back because he made me feel so uncomfortable i paid a lot of money for them to mess them up not once but twice once again. read more

My mom and I came to this nail salon to try it out, after we had a pretty poor experience with a much more expensive salon. We actually had appointments at the other salon last week, but canceled due to our unhappy experience. This means my nails went an additional week of growth- they were awful!! We called Pronails on a Sunday morning, and they were able to get us in pretty quick. We had the wrong address and went to the wrong salon, but when we called, Pronails was accommodating to our late arrival. The previous person had left my nails lumpy and with no shape at all, when I had requested shaping. The tech at Pronails was amazing and fixed the lumpy bumpy gobs on my nails. I have had great experiences in the past with pedicures and no-chip manicures. The last good manicure that I got lasted over 4 weeks and looked great! My last 2 visits to this location have been a major dissapointment. I came in a few weeks ago and an elderly gentleman did my nails, I would have been better off doing them myself, they started chipping on the 4th day. The nails were not completely even, nail tips were not smooth and he did not touch my cuticles. (I seriously doubt that he had a license) I called and was asked to come in and have them re-done. The 2nd gentelman that did my nails was much better, but he left me with some nails that were not filed correctly, leaving some rough spots on the side of my nails that are now chipping after 5 days. I think I will try the other location from now on. read more

Personally this was just an average experience. My friend and I decided to go to Pro Nails after looking around the area for nail salons. We didn't make appointments so for being walk-ins they sat us down very quickly (within 5 minutes of arriving.) My nail tech introduced himself and asked what I wanted to which I responded no-chip. The whole experience was very fast but when asked if he liked his job he said "yes I do I talk to people and i get money what's not to like" "sometimes i dont even know what I'm doing I'm just on auto like a car." It shows that he doesnt know what he was doing. My nails are uneven, the gel was not set properly by the lamp so my nails look cloudy and on my thump you can see the areas he missed with the topcoat. My friend and I were also charged different prices for the same exact no-chip gel. It was strange to say the least. If you want a place that's quick and you're in a rush this salon is perfect for you. If you want good quality work go elsewhere. read more

Very disappointed with my customer service. I have been going to this shop on and off for several years. The shop has been changing over time. My last visit I thought I wouldn't go back, but yesterday was a definite. I call for an appointment. I waited over an hour. Once I got my feet in the water, I waited another 15 minutes, while 2 ladies who came in after my hour wait were waited on immediately. Unacceptable! My last manicure did not last 2 days. Because I only do a simple manicure and pedicure I am treated like a 2nd class citizen. No money here. I do not like the no chip, it hurts my nails. I do not do the Acrylic nails. The shop is rundown, the pedicure chairs need an overhaul, the cushions are saggy, the paint is rubbed off the foot rest. I go for a treat. This was not a treat, rather a total disappointment. read more

Absolutely horrible customer service. I'm extremely disappointed. I received services for a full set with gel polish and a pedicure. The polish on my nails started to chip immediately. When I went to get my nails fixed I was advised that I would need to come back later. All I was asking was for the polish to be fixed one nail and at that time I was unable to return. I let them know that I was unable to come back and was told there was nothing he could do..turned his back and began speaking with someone else while I was still talking to him. I had "gel" nails from another close by salon & decided I wanted to go with "no chip mani's". Instead of soaking the gel off & leaving my natural nail so thin she filed down gel super thin then put on the no chip polish. I just had dip acrylic nails with a tip done from Thai. I scheduled my appointment specifically with him because of all the great things I had read on Yelp and Facebook. He took his time on my coffin shape tip and the ombre color effect with the dip powder. The design and shape are flawless - he really did a great job! I am a well seasoned acrylic nail gal and these are definitely my favorite set. I will not go to anyone else besides Thai. This used to be my place to go to but not anymore. I had the powder nails done. Lady insisted to try and try after I told her I did not like these because they chipped easily last time I did them. She assured me 3 weeks they would last and if not she would fix. After 3 days one chipped. I went back. Got it fixed. After 6-8 days the rest had a chip on the corners of the nail. (All i normally do for a job is type, scan, etc) I called on the 9th day, to tell them this issue. They assured me I would get them fixed with no charge. I went back the 10th day, waited half an hour just to sit in the table and then to say "there policy is after ten days, you have to pay full price because you type a lot". The only pro to this salon is they take debit/credit. Best place in Waukegan (cash only) is beautiful nails. read more

I went in with two of my friends this afternoon for pedicures was told it was a 20 minute wait and yes after those 20 mins we were moved to spa chairs where my friends waited 20 mins for their techs to start their pedicures. I however waited 2 hours for anyone to even come over to me. My feet were soaking in freezing cold water for over an hour!!! I expressed that to one of the nail techs working on my friends and they did absolute NOTHING! No apology or anything they were extremely rude and did not communicate with us at all also there were multiple people just sitting around so there's absolutely no excuse for such poor customer service! NEVER GO HERE. I have no idea how this place has any positive reviews. I was just there for a no-chip mani with soak off & repair of one cracked nail. The tech first tried to "soak off" my polish with the drill. When I asked her not to use the drill on account of my already-weak nails, she buffed the shine off & did the usual acetone soak. When she took the foil off, she proceeded to SCRAPE my nails like her life depended on it. First with the flat side of the metal scraper*, then with the sharp side, then with the file -- using all of her might. I saw sheets of my nail surface coming off with the file. It was horrifying. I asked reappeared lot for her to be more gentle. When she started to apply the clear base on my scraped up nails and I groomed cuticles I had enough and walked out. The manager, a nice man, agreed my nails had been damaged and were crooked to boot & (to his credit) offered to fix it. But since nothing can fix the damage done other than growing them completely out, I declined and left. At least he didn't make me pay, though I did offer. *These metal tools are NOT sterile, though they've made an effort to have you think they are. The pouches are perfectly smooth, not wrinkled they way they'd be if they'd gone through a cycle in an autoclave, and the indicators on the pooh that change color with sterilization were unchanged. read more

Not only is Pro Nails extremely clean with quick service, this was the longest lasting manicure I think I ever had. My polish didn't chip for a full 10 days, and this was a regular manicure. We were visiting from out of town for a Navy graduation and decided to take our graduate for a mani/pedi. There were five of us total and we spent close to $250, absolutely not worth it! Rude nail techs, no attention to detail, and we all left unhappy with our nails. They hardly touched my acrylics with a file, and did not check to see what length or shape I wanted them. She just started doing whatever she wanted and when I asked for something different she got an attitude with me. I had to have them repainted twice because they were very messy. I gave up and had to deal with the last try because I was tired of sitting there. Horrible experience, was expecting much more, very disappointed. While I was visiting family I was in need of a no-chip. I was looking at nail salons on yelp hoping to find one that had good reviews. I came across Pro Nails and decided to try it! My 2 friends and I went in for pedis and no chips. They usually go to a different one right down the street on Grand Ave but I told them I wanted to try this one out. The place and ambiance receives a 5 star! It is so nice and clean in there. Everything in its place, it didn't feel like all the other salons that only care about your $30. Everyone was nice and friendly. The prices are normal, not more than what you would find in any other salon. They gave us a little bottle of water and a pillow on our laps while we were getting our pedicure. Nice touch! However the only reason why I'm holding a star is because 1) I didn't like that they did our no chip manis while we were getting our pedicures. I had to lean to the side for them to reach my hands. My lower back had been in pain all week and that position made me real uncomfortable and did not let me enjoy the back massage chair. I guess I should have spoken up but did not want to bother. and 2) my friends no chip polish although it didn't chip, it turned a dingy shade of yellow. Her teal colored nails looked dirty. Mine were fine. Thats the only reason I'm withholding a star but I will definitely go in again and recommend them to others. I'll be sure to update my review and my stars. read more
