I came in for a cut and some advice on my hair color. I wish I would of taken a before picture. Man we definitely did take an after one. I had work done in March for balayage and ombré on my hair at a different salon. But since then the color turned to orange, brown, some yellow and brassy tones. It was a hot mess and I basically wanted to even the color out. Now everything is even out and I lOVE the ash color. The Olaplex treatment also made my hair so soft and bouncy. Only thing I didn't like was the price. I did not expect to pay so much but it was all worth it. Paula educated me with things I didn't know about hair and gave tips for future care. I tried to do my own hair with a box dye to save money and wow! Was that a bad idea! Turned my hair into 2 different shades of a weird orangey brown. I read the reviews and made an appointment with Paula at Q Cuts for full highlights. I had to bring my children with me and was a little hesitant, but I walked in and pleasantly surprised at the front reception area that had comfortable seating, magazines and toys, which my little one loved! I sat down with Paula and went over what I had done, and what I was trying to get back to. We matched some colors and while I was initially hesitant to go as dark as she suggested, I just went along with it, thinking that she knows better than I do! She was right! As my hair grew out, the darker color matched my roots more and the fade was really nice! So much better than what I had been previously been rocking. I went back again about 4 months later and she put even more blonde back in to get me back to my normal sun kissed shade. Really amazing service! I called a day in advanced to get a haircut, and she was able to accommodate me. She was so attentive and meticulous, I truly appreciated it. Thank you Paula for a FABULOUS haircut and I love it! I found this place via Yelp after searching endlessly for a stylist that's adhering to covid protocols. Q Cuts definitely exceeded my expectations. Upon entering, there's a huge bottle of hand sanitizer. Everything is disinfected. Since I arrived a bit early, I noticed that while Paula was taking care of another customer, there was another man sanitizing and wiping down the hair wash station. I got my hair washed by the man (I didn't catch his name!) but he did a great job. I was completely relaxed in the massage chair while he washed my hair. For the haircut, Paula asked what I was looking for and I showed her a few pictures of what I wanted. Paula let me know that it's a medium hair cut and that she'll take about 3" off my hair. For the shortest layer, she asked for my opinion and totally respected my desire for a slightly longer length. Paula was super easy to talk to and we made such good conversation. Paula's work is all done with the scissors, never with thinning sheers to prevent split ends. She also straightened out my hair to ensure that everything is even. I'm so happy that I found this place on yelp because the service here is amazing! I got my hair done by Paula and booked my appointment using yelp projects (which was a first for me, but it worked out quite well). I never got my full head dyed before because my hair is very thick, coarse, and long but I'm glad that Paula was the one who did it because she's very knowledgeable about different types of hair and how to handle them. During my appointment and even in the consultation, she explained the process each step of the way. I found this very helpful in case I ever needed to touch up the color myself or at a different place I would know what colors would work well on my hair and from which brand. Paula was so sweet the entire time too! While the bleach was sitting on my hair, Paula always checked in to make sure I was never hungry or thirsty by bringing snacks from the back. The ambiance in the room was never bad and in the first session I sat in that chair for 10 hours! I also really appreciate her attention to sanitation by asking every customer to use the hand sanitizer provided before sitting on a chair and informing me whenever she sanitized her hands or tools. Even the cabinets were labeled "sanitized" or "soiled" so you know you're getting clean tools used on your hair each time. The quality of the products that they use here are amazing as well. I got an olaplex treatment with my session to strengthen my damaged hair after the bleach and they also sell their take home products at the front (there's a really good holiday bundle I'd recommend if they're still in stock!). Paula used a bleach that contained an oil which would be more gentle on my sensitive scalp as well as help with its dryness. My hair never felt so healthy in my life until after I stepped out of that salon! Like the name says, this place gives you quality cuts. Paula is an amazing stylist and just so fun to talk to. She made my hair look so good afterwards and had the patience to deal with it all for around 13 hours which shows her dedication to her craft. I came in wanting to blend in my roots and tone my growing out balayage but after the consultation, she looked for ways to achieve my hair goals without having to spend more than I had budgeted for at this session. I loved the upfront honesty and that she was looking for alternatives to help me get the hair I want instead of just up charging me for a service that was more than I had anticipated. When I first arrived at this place I was a bit confused on how to get in. The "entrance" which I later found out was the back door was just the door to an awesome place. As soon as I peeked inside the salon, just looking at it was dazzling. Moving on to the service itself, I was really early so I waited a bit but that allowed me to settle in. As soon as Paula started talking to me I felt right at home and almost as if I was one of her own. She gives you honest advice about what you want and truly delivers. I can tell that she puts real effort not only into getting it done but also making sure that you AND your hair are happy and healthy. I don't normally post up reviews, but I had such a wonderful experience that I had to post for this one. For a while now, I had cut my own hair at home. This time I wanted it to be like a medium length. I realized I had cut it too short for my liking (I used to have long hair before this hair cut). The picture in the photo is what it looked like AFTER I had cut my own hair and I just wasn't happy with the length (I LOVED my long hair it was down to my butt). So then, I decided to finally have it professionally cut :). Given that COVID has shifted many salons to run by appointments only, I made a few calls to find the right place. I'm not going to name the 2 places I had called before I found the right one. First place, I called multiple times at different times and no one picked up every single time (I called 5 times). I thought, surely, they were too busy to pick up. So, I drove there to check it out and see how busy they were (they had 2 clients and 3 or 4 other stylists running around doing their own thing). The ladies there were not welcoming the moment I walked in, almost looked at me, like, why did I just walk in here (to get a haircut and give you my money! Duh! Lol.). They were a bit snooty in my opinion. Then I thought, I shouldn't be so assumptive.. maybe they had a long day at work... but it was not even 1:00PM in the afternoon! Lol. Anyways, they told me it cost $65 to get a hair cut, shampoo/conditioner/styling, and that they Might have an opening for me. I said, I'll check back with you guys (because I wasn't trying to spend that much on a haircut!). Called the second salon. They asked, how long is your hair? How much did you want to cut? Thick hair? They told me $60 bucks. The lady was just so short and brief with me over the phone and she could 4:30pm. I said, that's too late for me, I have a tight schedule today and really need a haircut Today. She did offer I could text her to confirm, which I later had forgotten to, and she followed up with me. That, I will give them credit for. I still didn't want to pay $60. Called the third salon, this time, preparing for those questions, I said, I just have medium length hair and I kind of just only want a trim, and the lady on the phone asked, is it for men or women? Is your hair thick? (Who would have thought the longer and thicker your hair is the pricier it gets to cut your hair or am I just too old school?). Women--how much would that cost? She said, $35. I asked if that included shampoo/conditioner/ styling and she said, Oh, honey, together that's $40. And, to me, I felt like that was a wayyyyyyy better price than the other 2 places I had just inquired about!! The price the other 2 places were asking for was too much, especially, when I was not a bit slightly impressed with their overall level of Communication, Customer Service, Friendliness, Professionalism and the type of ENERGY they were giving out. Energy is everything! What you put out there you get back. Simple. Basically, THIRD TIMES A CHARM!! When I had asked to see if there was an opening available by 3:00pm, she said she could do 4pm, but I reallllly needed something sooner, and she made it work for me for 3:30pm. I appreciated the fact that she was willing to be flexible with me. On top of that, she had a great personality! And in person she was even more personable. After showing her a picture of what I wanted my hair to look like, I expressed what I did not want to happen if I were to get a long bob cut. She suggested an undercut to prevent my hair from flipping outwards (I dislike dealing with that part of having a short lengthed hair style). She explained to me that she wasn't going to shave my hair at the bottom (thank goodness!). After she had explained what her technique is, she made me feel so much more comfortable. I felt confident in her technique and that she knew what she was doing. I said, Girl, this is All you. I trust you and your expertise and I'm gonna let you do your thing. Also, the place is NEW!! And it looks nice and clean. OH! I LOVED the messaging chair that I sat in while I got a message on my head while she shampoo-ed my hair. That was the best part of it all! I had hair cut and coloring with Paula in the past years. Their online appointment is very convenient. Last week, I made an appointment but it only allows first available stylist which is fine cause Paula is usually there. But when I got there, I realized she was not there and the one that doesn't speak much English said I need to put a note when I make the appointment. Okay sorry noted. Today, I have an appointment and I managed to put the notes there when I make ab appointment. I went there and she's not here again. Are you retired? To respond to your response. The lady who doesn't speak English looked very surprised when I told her I put a note on the appointment, so she has not been checking the note but she was the one who told me to put the note there. If she had check the note, she would have called me to let me know you were not there but no notice until I make my way there. There's nothing wrong of you being sick or being retired but it would be nice to put it on your online booking system since you said that's so easy. And since the lady doesn't even check the note, why don't you let people choose the name of the stylist instead of default to first available and have to manually put a note that nobody check? Paula is so sweet, honest, and open about suggestions during the consultation, and she does amazing work and uses only the best products for your hair. The purple turned out darker indoors, which she warned me off, but I love how it looks in the sun. So it's PERFECT. My friend has gone to Q Cuts multiple times to get her hair dyed and retoned and was always satisfied with the results so I decided to give them a try. I had gone to another salon to get babylights last year and was getting tired of the color so I decided to get it toned today. This was my first experience at a hair salon following the COVID-19 pandemic, and I was thoroughly impressed. I never usually do anything with my hair other than a routine haircut, so I was a bit apprehensive to proceed with a balayage. From the very beginning of the appointment, Paula greeted me with a warm smile and gave me a price estimate for the services. I brought some photos for examples of my desired cut and color. She assured me that she would be able to provide me with the expected outcome. She and her assistant, Long, made me feel comfortable and at ease with their friendly conversation and professionalism. Throughout the entirety of my visit, Paula stressed the importance of maintaining the health of my hair during this process. She recommended as long as possible for the second Olaplex treatment. First time coming here and booked to get olaplex treatment for my very dry hair. Got greeted by Paula & she introduced herself. She's very friendly and made me feel right at home. After talking to her & asking for advice on a possible balayage, I ended up asking for a caramel tone. I was a little nervous cuz I haven't colored my hair in years, but Paula & Long (her assistant) made the whole process like a breeze. I was visiting my girlfriend in Cali, and went to do my haircut last minute and had a reference photo for the style. The person who cut my hair was Sonya (the first time), she did an amazing job just not what I had asked for. But I understand she was trying to be cautious and not chop off too much, which I really appreciate. So I am a masc and androgynous person, I understand that most people are stunned when I ask them to cut my wavy hair very short and add layers. I usually look for a boyish haircut/mullet and I'm used to hair dressers feeling hesitant to cut off my long hair lol. Paula could see i didn't love my haircut the first time (it was too long and feminine for me) and took the lead and added a bunch more layers to give my hair more definition. She assured me that she wanted me to have a great experience and that she was the manager there. The people Sonya and Paula were so sweet and kind. My girlfriend came with me and Paula was very welcoming and said me and my partner were very beautiful together T.T overall an amazing experience. The salon is so clean, classy and smells really good. Sonya was so professional in prepping my hair, washing and massaging it. I appreciated everything they did. I also went to a gay bar right after my hair was done. I got so many compliments. A gay man hit on me LMAO slay. i loveeee my hair. I went there 2 time my first experience was outstanding the service I get from there is permanent Japanese hair straightening 2nd time I paid for same service but they use cheap matrix products which damaged my hair and with short staff they put stuff on my hair and working on hair cuts and coloring on other people it took me almost 7 hours I paid almost $500 damage my hair didn't get the service I suppose to get when I ask after I wash my hair what if doesn't work the manager of the place said that's it is we can't do anything seriously don't get this service at this place read more

I found Q Cuts from Yelp and took a chance after seeing the wonderful reviews as I was in desperate need to find a new stylist after my previous one bailed on me last minute. Glad Paula was able to accommodate me a few days before the holiday and she is super friendly. I have dark, thick, coarse asian hair which is very difficult to lift and wanted icy blonde. I had been to a few stylists in the past and never got my hair light enough to the icy blonde, so when I walked in to my appointment with Paula, I didn't have much expectations. BUT, a few hours later, I was pleasantly surprised and very impressed with the result. I got the icy blonde that I always wanted. I had an idea in my head of what I wanted to get done to my hair but I didn't know exactly how to explain it, so Paula was patient with me and with her expertise, she was able to explain what my options were that were close to what I wanted.
