I am long overdue in writing this review for my favorite hair salon, specifically for Sonya. She is not only amazing but also very nice! Due to my recent childbirth, I was unable to visit for several months, yet she remembered exactly what I wanted and made me feel comfortable. Sonya listens carefully to my requests and truly understands my style. As someone who is quite picky and sensitive about my hair, I have visited many places looking for the right stylist who can deliver the look I envision. Sonya has consistently been the closest to what I desire, and I leave the salon satisfied every time. I am now even bringing my husband in for a haircut, and we both love the results. I am so glad I came here on a whim. I am just blown away. I've always felt afraid getting my hair cut, because my hair and face shape are very particular and I've been done dirty by other stylists in the past. When I arrived they were very busy (new years eve's eve; everyone wants a cut rn) but i and another girl were offered waters and macarons. We also received a complimentary Olaplex service for the wait. I nearly fell asleep during that service lol it was very relaxing and then my hair felt amazingly soft afterwards. Paula was incredibly caring. She took the time to really understand what I want and paused to ask me questions throughout. "Speak from the heart," is what she'd tell me to really make sure I was happy. She maintained my length, understanding how precious it was to me, but somehow gave my thinner Asian hair more volume with the U-shape cut technique. The layers and face framing pieces were soft and cohesive, blending into my hair naturally when unstyled. She did this intentionally because I mentioned I don't really have time to style my hair. But if I decide I do want to style my hair, the layers are there to play around with. I also struggle with flat hair, and she managed to give me volume around the head (unstyled!) with her cutting technique. Then at the end, she took notes on the cut I received to remember for the future. I just loveeee the attention to detail, the expertise, and how cared for I felt here. I discovered Q cuts salon unexpectedly, and glad I did as I had the best haircut/salon experience with them. I was supposed to do a walk-in to a different salon but they were closed, so I looked around and found Q cuts. They're by appointment only, but luckily they had an opening when I called (i went on a weekday am). Sonia was my hairstylist, and she was very knowledgeable about hair and hairstyles that suits the customer. I originally came in with no idea of what I'm going for. I showed her some pictures of what I had in mind and asked her opinion, then let her do her magic. I appreciated it when she told me right off the bat what she plans to do and how much it would cost so there's no surprises come payment time. Everything from the beginning to the end was wonderful, and I felt very well taken care of as a customer. Sonia was very particular with the details and made sure I'm happy with the results. I was looking for a new place to get my hair done while my current girl is on maternity leave, and these ladies did not disappoint. The salon is large, cute and clean and really easy to find. Both Paula and Sonia worked with me for 6 hours to get my cut, color and chemical strengthening done and not once did I feel uncomfortable. They were accommodating, and up front about the process. Sonya delivered, her amazing customer service and the ability to read her customer, I highly appreciate. I told her I worked nights and if I fall asleep while she was shampooing, please don't take it personally, work drains me and I just like some quiet time when I'm being pampered. I came in on Halloween last minute because my hair was looking dead and in need of a refresh. I just wanted a quick trim to hopefully bring some life back to it. I was willing to go anywhere with availability. Q Cuts was the first to respond to me to confirm they could accommodate me and I popped into the store within a few minutes so I probably caught them off guard but Paula was able to pivot quickly and fit me in. Love Sonia!! My layers had grown out quite a bit so I requested long layers + face framing layers, the shortest layer at/right below my chin and she delivered exactly what I wanted. Sonia also took the time to shampoo before, thoroughly blow dried my hair after, and quickly styled the ends, all while striking up friendly conversation. I was impressed by how she hustled and managed everything herself today (there was a client right before, during my shampoo/conditioning, and right after). Price was $95 + tip! I just wanted roots and they booked me for a haircut to, $90 for a trim, I said no. They also tried to sell me on the $50 hair treatment, which declined twice and they did anyway. So an appointment was available for highlights at 5:55 pm just to be cancelled when arrived. Paula said highlights are done "early" because we would end late I said I was fine with that . She then state's that her landlord hates when she has costumers staying late. I then showed a picture to see if she would reconsider and she went on again about it's going to get late so I asked her if it's something she can do and she said no ?. The fact that the highlights was a service that her website clearly offered with that specific time is false advertisement. I was even able confirm with the automatic text that was sent . In my opinion she probably over booked herself... there was one more person working two people on her chair and three other clients waiting ... so I get it. I would suggest editing the website so it doesn't give false advertisement for future customers especially the ones you couldn't reach before their scheduled appointment. read more
