Maureen is the best there is when it comes to soft ombré powder brows! This is a game changer. When I wash my face, I'm like, "Yes, I still have eyebrows!" Last year, I took that leap of faith and got my brows done. I saw Maureen's IG and my friend also got her brows done by her, which gave me more confidence to go to the appointment. The healing process is both a physical and a psychological process as they become darker, scab over, and blossom into beauties. During the healing process, you have to avoid sun exposure, getting them wet for a few weeks, including excessive sweating. It is worth it though! Got a touch up after 7 months. I could've gone longer before touch-up but I didn't want to fill in spots by hand. After this touch up, I should be good for at least a year. Maureen is a true artist and it shows in her work! A friend of mine recently had gotten her brows done by Maureen and I was in love with the results. I was able to get an appointment luckily but it was 3 months out (she's kind of a big deal and I can see why now!). The booking website is easy to use. I booked for a color correction + reshape as I had my brows done about 10-12 years ago. She does ask for a picture of your current brows and she will let you know if it's something she can work with. On the day of my appointment, she will ask that you wait in your car until she is ready and from there she will text you to come in. The office is super open with lots of natural lighting. Very clean as well! She will have you fill out a consent form and that will be your opportunity to tell her if you have any health illnesses. Afterwards she will go into details about after care and what to expect. Maureen is really thorough and makes it a point that you're comfortable. She goes into details about different colors, shapes, and what she thinks may be best for you without making you feel like it's only her way. When it came time go get down to business, she draws out what she thinks is the best shape for your face first and shows it to you. What's super nice is that she will ALWAYS ask for your opinion first and make sure you are OK with it before she starts the actual tattooing process. She will also apply numbing cream too so that helps with any discomfort. During the process, she kept checking in with me to make sure I was comfortable and felt OK and I really appreciate that! By the end of it, she was so excited to show me her work and I legit felt taken back by how great it looked!!! The whole process from start to finish took about an hour and a half and that's from the moment I walked into her office. You know the girl that is extremely afraid of needles? That girl is me. The idea of getting a tattoo scares me because of the pain associated with being poked, but also the concerns about infections and transmitted disease through the use of needles. I've thought about getting my brows tattooed for many years (about seven years). My right brow has a scar from falling onto a knife when I was a child. There's no brow hair growing in that area. Sadly, I could never shape my brows the way I want because of that scar. In addition, I'm no makeup artist and could never draw them in nicely. Several months ago, a group of coworkers and I were talking about ombré brows. They showed me some artists that they thought were "good". Since I've been researching about and considering ombré brows for a while, I pulled up Maureen's page on Yelp and Instagram. My colleagues and I compared her work with the others. Well, we decided that I would be the first try her and if she's good as the before and after pictures of the brows she post, my colleagues would schedule an appointment with her. I scheduled the appointment with lots of nervousness and worries. I don't mind the pricing as long as I get good results--this is my face we are talking about. While waiting for my appointment date, I thought about just canceling my appointment or giving my slot to my sister since I paid $100 for the deposit. I decided on keeping the appointment and taking a chance. A few days before my appointment, I received reminders of the appointment date and time via email and texts. I was provided with instructions for safety precautions due to Covid. When I arrived outside of the studio, I texted Maureen. I arrived about 15 minutes early. She asked me to wait outside while she gets ready. She texted back and instructed me to come upstairs. The door was closed and I didn't know whether to know of just come in. I knocked and opened the door. There was another artist in the room doing work on a client. The place appears to be bright and clean. Everyone wore a mask. I was asked to sanitize my hands (this is good considering I opened the door to come in). I was provided with some forms to complete about my health. As I sit, Maureen explained the process to me thoroughly. She showed me the clean, new needle, which helped calm my anxiety. She wore gloves, mask, and a shield. She mapped out my brows and provided information about what she was doing throughout the process I was happy about the results, but because of how dark they originally were, I was shocked. I felt like I made a mistake getting my brows done. Next day, I texted her about some changes on the brows I'd like to make. She assured me we can make adjustments during touch up. She said they will look different once they're healed. Oh goodness, the waiting period for brows to heal was terrible for me. Remember, I am tattoo-less and never experienced the healing process of color getting darker or scabbing. I literally was sad for like 10 days! On the 11th day, scabs started to come off. My brows were magical underneath. I couldn't believe how beautiful they were. They were much lighter than I had anticipated. I texted Maureen right away with much excitement. My brows do not look stamped! I put on some eyeshadow and the brows popped even more! Amazing results! My colleagues and family saw the healed brows and fell in love with them as well. They are now scheduling an appointment with Maureen, but she doesn't have anything until next year! If you're hesitant about getting the brows done, don't worry! You're in great hands. She is very skilled! The appointment was scheduled for 2 1/2 hours, but she was able to finish perfectly in roughly an hour and some minutes. She's very responsive and I'm glad I took a chance with her. I have a touch up appointment in April, but I don't really need it as she did a wonderful job already. But I'm still going because of her professionalism and skills! I'm sure she'll make minor adjustments to make them even more perfect! Go schedule your appointment and trust the process! You will be much happier after your brows are done and you will save so much time getting ready in the morning. I'm getting compliments endlessly after my brows healed. read more
