You know how people always say they "have a guy" for things? I've always wanted that... and then I…read morerealized I do. Tony is my tattoo guy. I've gone to him time and time again for a majority of my work and he can't miss. This last visit in April was extra special because my daughter asked if we could get matching tattoos for her 18th birthday. It was her first and what's this mama going to say, no? Couldn't be me. There was no one else I would trust with that process, especially when it comes to something so precious. We sent Tony our inspo pics and he absolutely nailed it, plus added his own feedback in all the right ways. The detail? On point. The linework? CLEAN AF. Plus, everything healed beautifully. And the compliments? Nonstop. Everywhere we go, someone's asking who did them, and we're more than happy to show them off. Tony and the team also just moved into a new location and the vibe is immaculate. Super laid back, really comfortable, and not intimidating at all. It actually feels like a place you'd want to hang out. No ego, no weird energy, just solid work from someone who clearly cares. Grateful to have found him... because now he's not getting rid of me anytime soon :)

I expanded my search to the Bay Area (I live in Monterey), and found Micah, and am so so so glad I did. From the beginning, Micah makes you feel comfortable, and is transparent with how they work, what they charge and it makes for a great collaborative experience. They have a cute, comfy studio, and really take the time to listen to you, figure out what's important, and make an amazing piece of permanent art. After 2 separate 2.5 hour sessions, I came out with an amazing bull kelp tattoo, with coloration that was both true to life, and out of this world. I cried after I saw the finished piece, and cried again when I removed the bandage that night. It's an amazing piece of art, and Micah is both an amazing artist and human being. It was worth every hour of traffic, and every dollar I spent, and I'm already brainstorming for the next one.

I had a really good experience here last week. I never knew that tattoo parlors that use piercing…read moreneedles were a lot better than the piercing guns that are used at mall jewelry stores. I guess that's why all of my previous piercings never healed properly and closed up. I wanted to get them re-pierced and after researching tattoo parlors in the area, I chose Sacred Souls because of all of the high reviews. I made an appointment online for a 30 minute ear piercing session, but I did not specify that I wanted 5 piercings (4 lobe/1 helix). Sin was gracious enough to accommodate my request. He explained their full process and showed me their starter jewelry. Once I picked out what I wanted, he took me to their piercing area in the back which looked clean, sterile, and well-organized. The room would look just like a doctor's office if it wasn't for the fun decor. The piercing itself kind of turned into a breathing/meditation session. Sin gave me a squish ball to squeeze and then his voice became calm and soothing. He gently advised me to take 2 deep breaths as he went forward with each piercing and these were not too painful. I was at a 3 on a scale of 1-10. Afterwards, Sin went over the after-care instructions. Despite my mistake with the scheduling, I never felt rushed during my appointment. It is obvious that Sin is knowledgeable and takes great care with the whole process and that safety and cleanliness are important to him. The gal at the front register was friendly and helpful as well. I felt like the pricing for the multiple piercings and starter jewelry was fair. I appreciated receiving a follow-up text the next day and so far, everything seems to be healing well. If you want to get your ears pierced, don't go to the mall like I did before. Definitely check out Sacred Souls.

About a year ago for my birthday, my husband took me here to get my snake eyes tongue piercing redone, and the girl was very sweet and confident, which I found comforting. however, I think she followed where my piercing had ripped, so I can't completely blame her, but it healed crooked and I wasn't happy and had to take it out. It was $65 down the drain. Thinking this was a one-off, we ended up going to get my husband's nose pierced for his birthday, but they hit a nerve and it did not heal correctly, got infected and ended up needing to be taken out. I think that the staff are very friendly here, but they need more experienced piercers. The lady who changed out my piercings at this location was very sweet and cleaned them out for free. She did not change or give me new jewelry, but she cleaned my existing jewelry for free, and I really appreciated her. I wish I remembered her name, but it has been so long. I only just joined yelp.
