My mother and I will NOT be returning to this salon for any reason. Not even to purchase a comb! The hair dresser in question her name is Jeanette. My mother had first gone to this particular chopper and wasn't as happy with the first cut but the woman did a decent color. So my mother against her better judgment returned to her for another color and cut. This time she left my mothers hair so traumatized it's been a battle to even allow a cute hairstyle to ease my mothers emotional pain. Mutilated is an understatement. This "stylist" knows one type of hair cut it seems since another woman we know who went to her said she got poodle ears as a hair cut. Absolutely disgusting example of customer service and sympathy. I emailed the salon owner on the 3rd since they responded they responded to my google review first and it's now the 19th and no response. So I take it they don't care that customers are horrified by the hack job they received. Disappointing. Hair cuts and colors are expensive and something that a woman does to feel good about themselves but I guess Stacy Monroe salon doesn't care about that. read more

Went here for a basic quick trim. I been recently thinking about getting extensions because my hair was real short and I hated it, it made me feel ugly and my confidence low. So I asked the lady that was trimming my hair if she knew how to do beaded extensions and gave her pics of the look I was aiming for. So she acted like she knew what she was doing which was totally false come to find out after many talks about it and finally getting them put in by her. Let me say it was a nightmare, lots of money gone and it was embarrassing how my hair ended up looking. I was far from pleased by the services I got. On top of getting extensions put in she charged me for services that I don't think I needed which was not right. She was always changing times or asking me to come later for my appointments. In the process I had to go back 3 times for her to attempt to fix her mistakes and it never got done right every time. In the end I just wanted them out I only had them in for little over a month and paid over $1,000 to this stylist and I feel cheated, I have asked for my money back from her and talked to the owner and the owners daughter and they have yet attempted to give me some or all of my money back. This lady should not be doing extensions period. Nor has the owner called me back after several attempts calling her about this issue. read more

My daughter went to this salon to get her hair washed, dried, and styled. She couldn't do it herself because of a thumb sprain. She booked an appointment with Jeanette in person so she saw that my daughter had curly hair. My daughter went ahead and booked the appt knowing the service was going to cost $60. When she got her service done, she was charged $150 because according to Jeanette, she didn't have keratin treatment done which would have made her job easier (paraphrasing here). The "style" is laughable, it was poorly done straightening. I have done a better job at home with our tools and non-professional designation. If she would have been honest and said upfront what it would cost, it would've been a non-issue because we knew going in. However, the non-disclosure and up charge just because it's not a hair texture you're used to, is what causes a business to suffer. Would I recommend this place? No. Would I try it for myself? No. My daughter has been here before with a different stylist, has she learned her lesson? Yes! No more SM visits. read more

I requested a 2 inch hair chop with wispy bangs and I was so pleasantly taken care of. I made an appointment online and was added onto Marcela's clients, and I am so happy I got matched with her! She was very sweet, made me feel so pretty the whole time, took great care of me, and most importantly did such a great job. I would recommend Marcela as a hairstylist for anyone! All the stations are very tidy and there is a beautiful wood table in the middle of the salon. You are greeted by your stylist and offered refreshment. The equipment they use is modern and the hair wash stations have lower-placed bowls, which is amazing, since most salon wash stations are situated higher and as I am very short, I often end up straining my neck. The wash stations at this salon were very comfortable and I may have fallen asleep during my hair wash! The salon has been around for 30+ years and I can understand why it so successful! I will definitely visit again! The prices are very good for the work that these stylists do. Our appointment started with a very clear consultation about my hair (partial highlights, toner, and cut) asking about how I normally wear it, the gradient of highlight I was comfortable with, the type of cut, if I wore my hair up to showcase the highlights underneath and answered any other questions I had. I also appreciated her inquiries about if how comfortable I was with how she was brushing my hair or if I was sensitive on my scalp, etc. The process was comfortable, and she is a very nice with a great sense of humor. The appointment was completed within a couple hours and my hair looks and feels amazing! The highlights blended perfectly into my hair color and it looks pretty and natural.
