They follow all covid protocols and constantly and I mean constantly disinfect before and after clients, keep the distance, use of mask just glorious! - I have been avoiding people for the past year and a half so when I tell you that the place is CLEAN I mean it! 2. The chairs in the hair washing station give you a massage and it was the perfect relaxing atmosphere I've been needing. This was my first time coming here after looking for a place to give me my first haircut in 2 years. I made an appointment about 2 weeks prior and when I arrived, I immediately noticed how clean and beautiful the salon was. I was quickly accommodated starting with a wash. Unfortunately I didn't catch the man's name who washed my hair, but he was incredibly kind and did a great job of washing my hair and making sure the water temp was comfortable. By the way, the massage chairs at the wash bowls are great! Then, when I got to the chair, Paula was so kind and very understanding when I told her what kind of cut I wanted along with showing her a reference pic. She was so thorough and precise and constantly asking me if I was okay with how my hair was looking. Paula is so quick and efficient, not to mention incredibly friendly. It's easy to tell that she is super passionate about what she does while she's working on hair. She also explained what she was doing and the products she was using throughout the process. All hair care products were meticulously arranged on one wall with all the popular brands one would expect to see at a hair salon. We took our seats and began waiting. It wasn't long before it was my turn. It started off with a few questions as she assessed my hair. Paula really took the time to figure out what my style was. I was here a month ago for a haircut after 12 months of not being able to go for one. Paula is friendly and she gave me one the best haircuts i have ever gotten. I don't even have to blow dry much before I walk out the door which is indicative of a good cut. All I had to do was show her a pic and she provided some feedback. I can tell she is experienced. The other gentleman took great care to help color my hair. I was unfortunately there when another customer called in to harass the salon for charging her daughter more than expected. I was appalled by how insulting and rude the customer was towards Paula who asserted herself. The customer herself admitted she herself came in and liked her haircut. And thus she sent her daughter. All that person had to do was share her concerns but it went towards threatening a poor review and insulting the salon for the audacity for charging SF price. I am thinking to myself if you got a high quality service (and cost was also clearly advertised), wouldn't it be right to pay for that quality instead of going into accusations and insults? Sad to see your side of the story is my pregnancy. Not a word about my hair or your service. If 2 small waters and 2 cookies in 7 hours are "accommodating like a queen" feel free to charge me for the snacks. I was not comfortable nor felt at home with you speaking about your clients rudely the whole time!! Reviews are right, you are dishonest, and RUDE when things are not going your way! The owners should be more aware of how you manage their hair salon. I had an appointment on 10/01/22 and I've never been so disappointed. I paid $470 for hair breakage and I had to order $300 worth of hair products, plus paying a different stylist to retouch hair color, try and repair the damage, dryness and unevenness of my hair it's going to be expensive. I have super long hair and I take care of my hair like a psycho. I purposely chose Q cuts because they aren't CHEAP! I like to pay for what I get. A year ago I had the best service, and I was extremely impressed with how healthy my hair was after a balayage. On my recent appointment hairstylist/manager Paula (same stylist from last time) and I agreed on baby lights to do more of a ash blonde ombré balayage. It required teasing, meaning tangling the root of your hair. I understand the process, as foils when on she applied bleach from 1 inch from my root to the lower hair that was already blonde. I was left on foils from 12:50 - 2:03. Going back to a year I probably had foils for about 20 -30 (she was even surprised of how fast the process was). Last time she dyed from an 1 inch of my root to the tip of my hair and still had foils on for less time. Paula is always busy, she had a few other clients, answered the phone and ate while my hair was seating on bleach. I understand being short staff but it was the same amount of staff from a year ago. She's to busy/overworked and today showed. I had a really nice wash with Jim, he did the wash, toner and olaplex treatment. When I was back on the chair my hair was tangled to a WHOLE other level. Not an inch of hair where it wasn't tangled to an extreme!! I get it "teasing" tangles your hair. I've had my hair tease before and this was on another level. Assistant Jim started to brush about 5% of hair and CHUNKS OF HAIR WHERE COMING OUT ON THE HAIRBRUSH!!! He wasn't being ruff or pulling so that's when I started to ask WHY WAS SO MUCH HAIR FALLING OUT???. As Paula saw how bothered I was she took over and started to brush my hair even more gently and in super small sections. As she's brushing HAIR BALLS ARE ON THE BRUSH!! I continue to ask why so much hair was falling out. She REMOVED the hair from the brush to show me a hairbrush with less than 10 hairs. MIND YOU THE HAIR BRUSH IS BLACK AND MY HAIR IS BLONDE!! I can see everything on the mirror in front of me. She continues to then ASKED HER ASSISTANT SONIA TO SWEEP THE SECTION SO I WOULDN'T SEE!! As she thought I wouldn't noticed. She kept giving excuses like "it's normal to shed hair" "their sinks are small and caused my hair to get tangled" "hair is falling from being tangled" "it's from the teasing". Although those are reasons for hair shedding THIS WAS NOT NORMAL SHEDDING!!. As she went to answer the phone and help the register I passed my hand on my hair, STRANDS OF HAIR WHERE COMING OUT!!! When I started to look at my hair I can see where hair was broken off!! Again giving excuses like "they are your baby hairs" "you already had hair breakage" "if it's from my bleach, why are this black hairs short too" AS I CONTINUED TO TAKE STRANDS OF HAIR SHE GAVE MORE EXCUSES "STOP PULLING YOUR HAIR" why would I pull out my own hair?? I was just grabbing my hair and it would come out on its own. SO MUCH HAIR SHOULD NOT FALL OUT REGARDLESS OF THE REASON. I'm sure she will answered to this as she was talking to me about so many people who write bad reviews and "make her look bad" I'm sure she talked about me to her clients, and I'm sure she will continue to talk about me with clients as she does with me about other clients. She's unreasonable, after all the hair damage an apology and ways of fixing it would've been nice instead of covering with sorry ass excuses. I asked her to rap it off, I did not continue with my haircut, I didn't even want her to show me the final look from how mad I was. I hate to write a bad review, I hate to be that one person since as people they are all super nice and caring people. It was just a bad day for them and a horrific emotional day for me. I always made fun of people who cried for their hair but I cried so much after seeing how much hair was falling out from the breakage. I was left with dry, uneven super damaged hair. TL;DR: An awesome place to get a haircut. Thoughts: I have an upcoming graduation photoshoot and I decided to venture out for a new hairstyle. On Yelp I saw that Q Cuts got really good reviews and decided to give it a try. Do I think Q Cuts deserves the rave reviews? The answer is ... HECK YES. I made a same-day appointment (last Saturday) at 3pm. However, there was an appointment backlog when I got there (Q Cuts was really popular; it had a never-ending stream of customers haha!), so I was told to come back in an hour. There were grocery stores nearby, so it's not too hard to kill time. The COVID safety precaution was great: not only all the staffs wore masks, but the staff also made sure chairs were sanitized before customers sat down. Once it's finally my turn, I told Paula the context for a new hairstyle. I showed her some pics I found on Google to give her a rough idea of what I would like. To my surprise, Paula was able to come up with better a hairstyle than the ones I proposed! Throughout the haircut, Paula checked with me often about the length and the style. I really appreciated her attention to details! When the haircut was done, Paula showed me how to best style my hair. I told Paula I really liked the haircut, and she helped me take a few pictures to make sure I can articulate what I would like in the future. I've been wanting ash brown balayage for the longest time and Paula was able to help with what style was best for me! I tried bleaching my own hair at home -which wasn't the best idea. It's better to trust the professionals when it comes to hair care! I had an online class at the same time and I was still able to get my hair colored. Paula really cares for her customers, and she takes her time so that the customers get the most out of what they're paying for. If I could give her zero stars I would. My medium hair length haircut (1 inch below my ear) took a total of three hours. I came into the salon on time, only to find that Paula had double booked me because she had just came back from Vegas.... But I had made an appointment a week prior. She said come back in 30 minutes and I'll be ready. Came back in 30 minutes and she was working with a new customer... then she apologized and said she will comp me for a conditioning treatment.... I said no, I was doing hair donation and it must be clean and dry (therefore I washed my hair before my appointment). She was nice and immediately said why don't I cut your hair for your donation first. She cut my hair then moved me to get my conditioning treatment, like an assembly line. She continued with her client, while I started with my treatment... after the treatment, they just left me there... hair half cut and wet... I waited and waited and no update on time, the guy that washed my hair came back to check up on me, he said not to worry just relax, Paula will be right with you.... Then he told me how hungry Paula was and how she didn't eat lunch... and he heated food for her and I had to wait for her to finish eating.... And after she was done, I still had to wait before she finally cut my hair.... In between the haircut she still answered the phone and etc (I understand as a small business that we all need to do that sometime but my time is also valuable). After the haircut she still have the nerve to charge me $75.00. Her rates were $45.00 to $60.00 for a medium cut and $15.00 for a wash. Firstly I declined the treatment, secondly I don't see how you can do the treatment without washing my hair. It was a good haircut but I'm never going back again. I wouldn't be as mad, if she had just rescheduled. *Update: I just want to clarify, I have been to other independently owned salon and understand the rates that I had agreed upon but time management is self chosen. I can understand waiting half an hour or so for someone to finish up with a customer, but I can't understand pausing in between a service for a long period of time and making the customer wait in a middle of a hair cut. This is an appointment based service, I had made an appointment a week prior, with a direct call to the business. If there were any issues with booking, I'm sure we could have mutually called each other to clarify and reschedule. Also, we pay more or less for a service because we are willing to pay for the customer service and goods along with it and I knew the expectations. I left my house around 3:30 and didn't get home till 7:30 ish for a medium cut. I don't think Q cuts works for me especially when I read the businesses response. read more
