It was a private lot parking but it could get pretty busy. But not a fan of the service. The stylist asked awkward questions, made me feel unwelcome and kept spinning my chair to a point where I got nauseous. The stylist was a little aggressive with combing my hair and took out my ear piece with the comb and fell to the floor. No apologies no nothing. I was not a fan of the hair cut or the service. I was paying a salon in Walnut Creek just about $400 for color for 10 years and I got tired of it. I learned to do my own color and cuts however, I have truly hated my hair since 2012 due to it looking thin and lacking volume. I met Molly when buying my color products and loved her hair. I went to her for extensions and they are beautiful and I honestly don't ever want to go without them again.I have gone to a salon in Danville to do extensions but they were thrashed after two months. These ones are very little maintenance, I no longer have to spends tons of time with styling. I basically braid and remove or heatless curls. It is pricey but she is a lot less expensive then other salons and they are good quality. read more

They are a very professional salon and are doing a fantastic job adhering to COVID business practices. I continue to be completely satisfied with my experience here. Since I became a regular customer back in 2016, my hair looks the best ever due to Nicole's styling & coloring plus using their Kevin Murphy products. Their Kevin Murphy hair color is especially important for me. My hair is so much healthier using this. Prior to becoming a regular at the Rae Talbot Salon, even though I was willing to pay a premium for my hair care, I never felt like my hair looked like I did (I have somewhat unruly, fine, thick, wavy hair). I just got finished with my doo with Emma. I am very satisfied. I was a very last minute customer and on a whim this very morning just felt like getting a hair cut and chopping half of it all off. I was originally supposed to get cut with Nicole but was a little late so Emma was able to accommodate me. I showed her a picture on Pinterest of something of what I sorta wanted and she was confident. Emma's said she's been cutting hair for 12 years and been at Rae Talbot's for the past 2. I didn't do much research on a specific stylist beforehand but with that much experience , I felt comfortable being in her hands especially with a drastic cut as mine. My hair was probably past my breast in length and so I was looking for a short shoulder length bob. Maybe cutting off like 6 inches. I wish I had taken a before photo. She washed my hair. Was very gentle. Also gentle while cutting. She styled my hair. Showed me two possible ways to style my new doo, which is super helpful for someone hair-clueless as myself; i.e. simple round brush blow dry and style and another wavy relaxed curl look. Both looked great and seemed easy enough to do on my own. I also love how any way I flip it, either down the middle or messy side part it will look good. I'm glad I went back to short hair. Less maintenance , low blow dry time, less shampoo, and less weight of my head. Overall my experience with less being more! I WILL have to get used to the new shorter length again but it feels good running my fingers through my hair , literally some weight taken off of my shoulders. My haircut was decently priced. $60 without tip. I was happy with my cut so I tipped her well. I may come back again for a color. I'm due for a change in my look for 2018. Hopefully also going to have my boyfriend get his hair cut here as well. I also love the decor of the salon. I love the look of the vintage , reclaimed wood . It's near Christmas now so they have little mini travel hair products as ornaments in their Christmas tree and silver and gold tinsel around the mirrors. The day before our wedding my wife's hair turned green from a chemical imbalance in a swimming pool. Thankfully, the salon was able to get her in to fix it. A number of hairstylists looked at it and decided they could color correct it and assured her that it would completely remove the green tint from her hair permanently. She then payed $170 for this color correction and then 3 days later, the green came back. We are unsatisfied and annoyed on how this salon with that price tag could allow something like this to happen. Would not recommend to anyone. read more

Emma is amazing! I have always been the ABSOLUTE pickiest person about my hair so when I came across her Instagram (@emmaribeira_hair) and saw rose gold hair I wanted it NOW. I set up an appointment on Square which is super easy to book and went in yesterday. I was super nervous but she was very realistic from the beginning and let me know I needed a hair cut and that my hair might not lighten up in one sitting (I had an ugly dye job from someone else in the bay) Emma started her magic, she was super friendly and best of all super quick. I've sat 5+ hours in the salon every time in the past but in 3 hours I had a hair cut, a NEW beautiful color, and even some curls. Came in for a haircut appointment with Tabitha and was greeted with warm enthusiasm. Waited for a bit (15-20 mins) since Tabitha communicated she was running a bit late since she was finishing color dye with another client. Another salon associate offered me a complimentary beverage while I wait, in which I chose hot earl grey tea. Atmosphere: down to earth music, pretty ceiling lighting, waiting area seemed to give off a boho casual/chic vibe. Haircut: After being asked to sit in a salon chair, I explained to Tabitha my ideal hair cut: something not too dramatic yet will make my hair feel thicker and still long layers. I have grown out my hair since the last haircut (asymmetrical bob) from last year so pre-cut, my hair was long, flat, and past my chest. Tabitha suggested a long bob. She proceeded me to the hairwash chair, where she shampooed and wrapped my hair in a towel. After walking back to the salon chair, she confirmed the type of cut I was looking for and I showed her a picture on my phone (for reference) of what I was going for. Over the course of 15-20 minutes she chopped it off, worked her magic with a sense of urgency, and styled it accordingly using a 1-inch curling wand. Although the haircut was perhaps an inch shorter than I expected, I could feel my hair so much more healthier. This gave me reassurance and boosted my overall sense of self. I genuinely couldn't stop smiling as I left the salon. Overall, would highly recommend for a haircut with Tabitha! She asked about my haircare routine, and gave me tips regarding shampooing and maintenance, and even explained briefly about the Kevin Murphy Products she used on me since I like all-natural. I don't cut my hair too often so I appreciate hair stylists like Tabitha who invest in their clients' salon experiences (even if it's just for 30 minutes) and who take the extra step by informing about haircare. This review is for Emma. She assured me I wouldn't leave the salon unhappy but I left the salon CRYING. I shared with her my concerns and worries every time I get my hair done, which is also why I got a strand test first. After telling me my hair lifted well, it seemed promising. I also mentioned how urgently I need my hair color by and whether she was able to guarantee whether she could achieve what I wanted. The bleaching was so painful because of the comb she used to apply it in addition to the dryer that was used to speed up the process. Applying the color was painful as well because of the same comb. I was worried when I saw the color she applied but had trusted to wait after the wash. The color was NOTHING like what I wanted. What went from rose gold became a purple blue. I wake up everyday in tears when I see the color in my hair and I don't even want to go out because I don't want people to see my hair. Everyday I have to wear a hoodie just to hide my hair. I'm not sure if she understands that a girl's hair is her LIFE! I entrusted my hair to her and she destroyed it. Now it's going to cost me EVEN MORE $$$ and time to get the color out and put the correct color in. Ive always had to return to the salon because it's never turned out right the first time, but this is the first time that I've wanted to hide my hair. Lastly, she gave me the price quote in the beginning telling there'd be no hidden fees, which I was grateful for, but later goes on and tells me that doesn't include the cut...I thought I was saving her time and products by reducing the amount of hair she'd have to apply it on but I see that wasn't the case. At that point I couldn't refuse the additional cost either since we were already halfway through the process. I honestly didn't want to tip her because I was so saddened by my hair, but I still did out of courtesy. After telling her all this, all she tells me is that everyone's hair is different and that she used the same colors she used on someone else but not sure why it didn't turn out as expected... obviously, it wouldn't be the same because we don't have the same hair -.- like she's worked in the field for 12 years for chrissakes. She wants me to wash my hair to get the color lighter....like are you kidding me?? I paid you so I could wash the color out??? Moreover, she tells me to use dish soap if it's still not the color I wanted and has the audacity to tell me she'll give me a free shampoo cocktail and charge me AGAIN for the rose/gold color. My 15 yr old daughter got her hair color done by Monica Huang at this salon. She said she charges by hour and quoted 3-4 hours initially, but it ended up taking more than 5 hours, costing me close to $500.00. Regardless, my daughter was not happy with how it came out since it was not what she expected. I understand there could be miscommunication, however, Monica insisted that she was right, and was very rude at my daughter's request to fix it. I was not there in the conversation due to covid, but I had a feeling that she's totally exploiting minor's vulnerability. I couldn't see any effort that Monica was trying be empathetic with my daughter and make it better for her. I advise you NOT go to Monica Huang. read more

Even after I moved from SF to the East Bay 8+ years ago, I'd always go back into SF for her to do my hair. Not only is she much closer now, but Rae Talbot Salon is adorable, the staff is helpful and it has more than enough parking. Laurel is not only personable and professional, but she does the most amazing natural-looking blonde highlights. Walking into Rae Talbot Salon, it is a very spacious and gorgeous salon with a modern looking interior. Emma, as well as other staff members, greeted me with genuine and enthusiastic smiles. I definitely felt positive vibes coming into this place compared to all the past hair salons I've visited. Leading me into a comfortable salon chair, Emma inquired what hairstyle I would like to get that day. I showed her a picture of a hairstyle I've always dreamed about having and in a heartbeat, Emma confidently said that she could do it and you wouldn't believe how excited I felt at that very moment! As she made small talk with me, she finished my hair in less than an hour without any difficulties along the way. She worked flawlessly and comfortably as she talked to me like a good friend throughout the entire process. Talk about multi-talented! I moved to the bay area from LA six years ago and until recently have continued to get my hair done by my stylist in LA. I finally broke down and realized I needed to find a hair stylist up here. I booked an appointment for a hair cut and color with Georgianna and I am so happy I did!!!!! Georgi is so friendly and helpful. I came in with a rough idea of what I wanted for my hair and Georgi delivered! She is extremely knowledgeable, friendly and easy to trust! The salon itself is very clean and cute and parking is easy.
