I've been going to Nancy since summer of 2021. When I first went to her, I have to say, I've been having a difficult time with my hair. After about 6 months after my first haircut with her, and the tips she's provided, my hair is low key thriving! Let's start off with location... She's located downtown Hayward off B Street. Although, parking kinda sucks, and it is the Main Street with so many cars, her place is so cute! Inside her place, there plenty of seating, and a lot of chairs available. For the most part, whenever I go see her, I'm probably the only other client inside - just incase you guys get nervous for Covid reasons. Nancy is so welcoming. She starts off asking you what you want to do with your hair, and she observes and starts framing your face to see if you would like it and gives out suggestions as needed. Then she washes your hair, and then she begins the cut. She's so knowledgable in the industry. She given me helpful advice on how to maintain my hair. For reference, I've always had to wash my hair daily because it's always getting so oily. So she's given me tips on how to prevent it. And after 6 months of following tips, and seeing what works for me, my hair is fuller, healthier, and thriving as I've mentioned. She also sells products in house just in case you want to obtain professional items. I highly recommend her. You won't regret it. read more

Nancy is absolutely incredible and everything you want out of a stylist. She's professional, friendly, and diligent. I had my first cut by her and she righted so many wronged cuts and colors. I loved that she took the time to really understand what I wanted instead of getting right to work (expected gesture, but not everyone does it!). She gave me insight into her suggestions and made sure she clearly understood what I DIDN'T want. The cut speaks for itself. She gave me everything I didn't know I wanted in it. I LOVE Nancy. Just looooove her. Setting an appointment with her was easy peasy. I called and left her a voicemail and she got back to me right away and fit me in to her schedule. She is understandably very popular so it was about a month between the time I called her and the time I sat in her chair. So if you're thinking about making an appointment with her, do it now because her bookings can go fast! Ever since having my daughter, I don't think I've had a hair cut in over two years, and even then it was a trim. When I walked into the salon, my hair was a long hot lifeless mess that was almost down to my butt. I needed a cut and color baaad, Nancy is super friendly, and even though it was my first time meeting her, it felt like I've known her for years. She's always cracking jokes and she is so easy to talk to. My ridiculously long and out-of-control hair required me to be at the salon for about 5 hours and it went by fast. Felt like I was hanging out with an old gf! As soon as I sat down, she looked at the lifeless mess on my head and asked me exactly what it was that I wanted and get this.. she actually LISTENED. She let me know what was and wasn't attainable in one session in terms of color, and gave me honest insight about what she thinks would look best with the style I was looking for. The length and style was exactly what I wanted, and the color she suggested is 100000000 better than that idea I came in with. I've never had full highlights done before and she was extremely patient and knowledgeable when I asked her a million questions about the process. By the time Nancy was done with my newly fabulous hair, my hair looked SO SMOOTH and HEALTHY! You seriously wouldn't be able to tell that I pretty much just had every hair on my head bleached. Nancy is soooo skilled at what she does, and she is fun to talk to. I hope she stays in the bay area forever... well, maybe until I move, and then I hope she will move close to me and do my hair forever. Seriously, look at the before and after photo I posted. I've been wanting a change for some time and stumbled across Nancy Vu-Ha via Yelp....go figure...my first thought was "im sure she had her family and friends Yelp all the positive reviews"...only way is to know is to find out for myself and form an opinion. I came in mainly to get a highlight...not knowing what i wanted and discussing options with her for about 10 minutes, I finally said "i trust you"....hmmm...oddly i really did having never met her before! The way she is able to cut and style my hair always gives me more confidence when I walk out of that salon. Most recently I booked a private appointment for her to come on site for an up-do I needed for a wedding. She was on time, ready with her tools, and very professional. I explained to her what I wanted and she accomplished it above and beyond my expectations in one hour. Prior to that, I had my hair colored by Nancy. Nancy, Nancy, Nancy! I actually heard about this hair guru from another friend. Word of mouth I guess you could say along with some before and after shots of my friend's haircut. I was impressed, so I just had to go try her out! Nancy was super professional and her hair washes feel really really nice................. she added a small massage to the back of my neck. That's not something I usually receive from other salons or hair stylists. Major plus! You can really tell that she has a passion for hair from the way she works those scissors and combs. I went in for a cut and style and my, my... was I in for a surprise. My hair turned out perfect and she styled it SO nicely. Another glowing review for Nancy! Not that she needs another one, but because I want to let her know how thankful and appreciative I am of her work! (And I'm not related to her! lol.. I found her on YELP!) I've been searching for someone to get my hair done RIGHT the first time! She listens.. She follows-up.. She even picks up the phone when she's not at the salon! The salon itself is a bit tricky to find. It's upstairs in the corner building of A Street, but I quickly found it when I parked. I came in on a weekday morning and before I stepped into the salon, she knew what I needed/wanted/expected. She would give me her professional advice when it was needed and always calmed me down when I set my own personal expectations too high! Nancy is awesome! This was my very first experience with her and she was simply amazing. She started off asking me questions to get to know me and my hair likes and dislikes. After we figured out a gameplan for my cut it was off to the shampoo. Her shampoo/head massages are sooo relaxing, i probably would've nodded off if i closed my eyes. Afterwards was the cut, blowdry, and more cut. You can tell Nancy is very professional and loves what she does. She took her time to make sure she cut it the way she.. and I wanted it to look. She explained how she was going to cut it and why, that showed she knew what she was doing. True perfectionist at it's best, even when she thought she was done she noticed something small that bothered her and fixed it really quick. Nancy is my hair gal. I have seen her twice now and both times I left very satisfied and feeling sex-ay. She listens and give her honest opinion which I respect. Since Nancy is the hair guru I leave it in her talented scissored hands. She takes her time from start to finish and makes sure I leave content with my new do. A shampoo with a relaxing head massage, cut, blow dry and style it takes about an hour and a half. She doesn't rush clients in and out. Nancy and Nina are an awesome tag team duo. The sisters are great to work with. They have great chemistry together when they worked on my wife for our wedding. Nancy specialized in hair and Nina did her makeup. Nancy, is pretty much always booked and very busy. Be patient, and she'll get back to you. They came early and ready to go on our wedding day. (Before Nancy): Once upon a time, I tried a hair salon in Fremont and asked for a trim and natural looking highlights. Low and behold, I walked out looking like a freak show with chunky blond-white highlights (aka my hair was dead) and a choppy hair cut. Worst. Day. Ever! I went to Walgreens on the way home and bought a box of hair dye to cover the nasty nest on my head. I was traumatized! One year later...the hair gods sent me to Nancy... Nancy is a rockstar! I have finally found my new stylist and she is friendly. She listens to what you want and what you don't want, she gives a great head massage while shampooing and she's not rough like some stylist I've endured over time. I am so happy with my hair that I I'm going to make an appointment for color, she does it all right and I don't want to mess up my hair now, haha. The salon is gorgeous, clean, calm and big so you don't feel crammed. My friend and I were part of a bridal party, so on the day of the wedding we had Nancy and Nina do our hair and makeup. They are an amazing and talented sister duo who are really fun and chill. As others have said they are hilarious to be around and make you feel at ease. They definitely keep you entertained while you are getting styled. My hair and makeup stayed/held up all day and night (8am-10:30pm). What was most impressive to me is that my curls held. I have really fine silky asian hair so that sometimes can be a challenge. The bride REALLY LOVED our hair and makeup (and secretly told me she liked it a little more than her own) I highly recommend Nancy and Nina. When it's my turn to get married . . I usually come in to just to get a haircut and get my thick hair thinned out but my last visit I decided it was time for a change. Full disclosure. I've known Nancy for over a decade now [holy crap]. Imagine one of your friends from high school. Any of them. Now imagine them telling you that they're going to school to become a stylist. Ok, sure, great. They offer you some freebies. Hmmm... a trainee? Well ok, you can just blow dry my hair. Errr... I'm your FIRST client? Welll, ok, I mean how bad can it be, right? You're just blow drying my hair. Fast forward a few months. Oh what? Now you want to take SCISSORS TO MY HEAD?! Breathe... Breathe... Ok, I trust you [I think]. Let's take it off! Ok, good cut, good cut. FUTURE FORWARD: You want to dye my hair? Like, permanently?! This is virgin hair, lady!
