Came here for lunch with my boyfriend during the week hoping to fill the craving I've been having for some good BBQ pulled pork. The service was fantastic from the moment we walked in the door until we left. Our waitress, Diana, was fabulous the whole time we were there. The food was a different story unfortunately. The meat itself was really nicely cooked, tender and tasty. Where it lacked was in the sauce - I was hoping for that through and through saucy dripping tender meat, but was left with just a pile of pulled pork and some BBQ sauce dumped on top. Not a lot of depth in flavor. I got REALLY excited when I saw Mac n Cheese as an option for a side, but was incredibly disappointed in it. It was watery and SO bland. Kraft Dinner was gourmet in comparison. It might have been the worst mac I've ever tasted, not even black pepper or ketchup could save it for me. My boyfriend got a similar meal but with coleslaw and cornbread on the side as well. Coleslaw he said was so-so, and I tasted the cornbread which was good but 99% sure it's store bought. Long standing and family owned restaurant this is THE spot to go in Cambridge and one of the best value in the KWC area for some delicious smoked bbq meats. I love that their menu has some Greek flair such as souvlakis. You gotta try their beef brisket because it is sooo tender and super delicious AND they don't charge to add brisket to your platter-which in my books is a bonus. The chicken is super succulent and the pulled pork is beyond flavourful. They've been featured in You Gotta Eat here, and I can definitely see why! A hidden gem in Cambridge. One of the best smoked meats I ever had for a decent price. Got the 4 meat platter with brisket, pulled pork, smoked chicken and ribs. Sides of sweet potato fries, mac and cheese and house salad. Everything was executed perfectly, I enjoyed everything but I think brisket was my favorite. Being from the States, and living in a southern state at that, I've had my fair share of good BBQ. So when I saw the good reviews, I had to see if there was, in fact, decent BBQ in Cambridge, Ontario. The verdict: yes there is, with a few caveats. I ordered the two meat sampler, and chose the smoked chicken wings and the brisket. For my sides, I had the mashed potatoes and corn on the cob. The sampler also came with cornbread. So, let's talk about the sides first. Loved the mashed potatoes, and the gravy that came with them. Delicious. The corn on the cob was great also, really enjoyed it. And the cornbread? Spot on! High marks for the sides all around. Let's talk about the meat. The smoked chicken wings were GREAT. Best wings I've had in my many trips to Cambridge. They smile them with their dry rub, and put just a touch of their sweet BBQ sauce on them to finish. Honestly, they don't need the sauce. But if sauce is your thing, they do have several different types to try. The brisket was average. They drown it in their sweet BBQ sauce, which makes it hard to taste the dry rub. This is only my opinion, but good brisket doesn't need sauce - it can stand on its own with just the dry rub. Had I known they would drown it in sauce, I would have asked for the sauce on the side. The wait staff was super helpful with the menu, and even steered me away from a bad side dish. High marks. These guys definitely have some skill with the BBQ. Very poor customer service. A few years ago I had ordered a can of pop with my meal; upon deliver the pop was missing. When calling in they said "no problem, a can of pop will be here for pickup". I insisted they deliver it as that's what I had in fact paid for an did not have a license at the time... The stated they would not be paying their driver to deliver my can of pop (yet it was their mistake to begin with). They eventually blocked my number so that I couldn't contact them about it. Food is great, service is very poor and from what I have heard the owner isn't a treat either. Wouldn't recommend. Support a different local business. read more

Stopped by for lunch during the summer on the way to the camp grounds. The slight detour off the highway was well worth it!! We sampled the ribs, brisket and pulled pork with a side of fries and coleslaw. Brisket was the winner of the show, so moist and delicious!! Best service I have had in a restaurant in Cambridge! The entrance is not the best but once you get past that it is cozy inside. You may want to make reservations if you want a booth as they are the best seats in the house. I am a vegetarian and other than the salads they have fish and chips and veggie burger on the menu. I was not feeling it so they accommodated me and made pan fried fish - it was pretty good. The food is good ! And could not go wrong for the price. read more

The Sides, coleslaw and Mac and cheese, were served in small ramekins and as such, the portions were quite small. The coleslaw had a chemical taste and so I didn't eat and the Mac and cheese was dry and pasty. This place stands out for for Cambridge. Very good food and juicy meats. The only issue is that the are usually short of smiled meats or other specialties. Have been there a few times, each time was in a group setting. Service was very slow and the food took ages to come. I am guessing that they are not used to having large groups. Tip: Since it's a BBQ place, expect them to run out of certain menu items closer to closing time. Not bad, not bad. I found this Q BBQ friendly and unpretentious! One of the only places open on Easter Sunday in the area. Between 2 people, we ordered a 3-meat platter that came with 2 sides. (By the time I got there, there was no more meatloaf or baked beans!) Brisket was quite fatty and edge pieces were a bit on the dry side, Smoked Chicken was a bit bland, but tender, with the Smoked Wings were the best out of the 3! We finished EVERYTHING on the platter, not super big eaters, so I'd say "just enough" portion-wise. Slaw was standard and Corn Bread was really good and soft. In addition to the ketchup/mustard/relish, I think it would be great if they had bbq sauce on the tables! I got a free dessert with Yelp Check-In, so that was a great way to round off the meal. Mac n' cheese was very good, hot & cheesy. Coleslaw was great, not a big fan. BBQ sandwich was Huge! Great flavour & good sauce, not to sweet or spicy. While visiting the Cambridge area, I was on the hunt for great food, and I found it. This place was pretty easy to find, there was plenty of parking, and it wasn't too busy, score! First impression of the place- it was pretty nice, not classy but not dingy. We were shown to a booth and were greeted by our awesome waitress Debbie. She was a riot, and had us laughing the whole time. She made us feel welcome and thanked us for coming in. The menu has a lot of tasty options, I had trouble deciding. Finally I went with the Montreal smoked meat sandwich , and my friend got the Suzy Q pulled chicken sandwich. We also shared a piece of red velvet cake for dessert. Only criticism I had was that it seemed like today they didn't have everything available, there was no chicken pot pie and no rye bread for my sandwich. Bit of a bummer, but not a huge deal. The food came in good time. We were told everything is made in house, from all the sides to the smoked/bbq meats. The flavor of my smoked meat was great! The pulled chicken was also a hit! Our coleslaw was really nice and fresh, potato salad was very tasty. The mac and cheese side was just OK, I prefer to have it more creamy. The cake came out in a huge slice with real whipped cream on the sides. The cake was surprisingly light and not overly sweet. I'm not sure how fresh the cake was, as there was a slight old taste to the edges, like when a cake is cut then wrapped with plastic wrap for a while. I'll preface this by saying that I am from, and still live in, North Carolina. I am also a competition BBQ cook and certified BBQ judge. I was therefore understandably reluctant when, while in Cambridge on business, some colleagues suggested it for lunch. I was very pleasantly surprised. I ordered the brisket sandwich with Mac and Cheese. While the Mac and Cheese was nothing special, the brisket sandwich was excellent. The pretzel bun was delicious, the brisket was moist, tender, and had excellent smoke. The pulled pork although I didn't sample it looked more than respectable. I went here for the first time on a Tuesday evening for dinner. The restaurant was mostly empty, with two other couples. One server was working. The service was great - our server was attentive and polite. However, the food was a different story... I ordered the catfish with Mac and cheese, and my guest ordered the wing and rib combo with the bourbon apples. The catfish tasted like chlorine and there was more crust than fish itself. It was my first time eating catfish, so I figured that's what it was supposed to taste like, but having catfish later in the week, I realized that it was just terrible. It tasted like it was marinated in some kind of chemical, and then covered up with tasteless crust. The Mac and cheese was runny, though tasty. My guest's ribs and wings were so-so - the flavour was okay, but there was so little meat on the ribs, it was just disappointing. Add that to the apples that tasted and looked like they came straight from a can, and it was just a shame all around. On the plus side, the cornbread is delicious, but crumbly. I'd suggest they serve it with a cinnamon butter, or something to make it seem a little less dry. read more

This is masterclass bbq. Perfect amount of smoke and moisture. Sauce is neither too sweet or overwhelming. Most bbq places that do good bbq sometimes have less delicious sides, but not here. Every side we had was off the hook too. I'm a cornbread snob and their cornbread, though slightly different from mine, is the first time my family agreed makes it just as moist, sweet, buttery and delicious. Great barbecue and verrrrry generous portion sizes. The crowd there is a little rough especially around the bar but you can sit in the dining room if you bring your family. The meals come with two sides which is great if you wanted both salad and fries. For those who love cornbread they serve it with every meal. I am a fan of Man vs. Food, so when I heard that Cambridge was going to have a BBQ place I got pretty excited. I have never had BBQ food and was excited to pop my BBQ cherry. The restaurant is not very big, so good thing we had a reservation for a Friday night dinner, we were seated right away and the restaurant was full. I asked the waitress what the soup of the day was and she had to go and check. (I like soup, and it is a good test to see how the wait staff are). We also had a few questions about the menu that she had a hard time answering. Our family of 4 ordered the garlic bread for an app ($7.95) it took a long time to arrive to our table and it was nothing special either. The entrees took a really long time to arrive as well and all we had ordered was 2 burgers and brisket. They had these pretzel style buns which did not taste very bad, but they were soaked in grease! The burger was too lean which caused it to be really dry, and the fries I could tell both visually and with taste that they were made in 2 separate batches. Half my order of fries were soggy and pale, the other half were golden brown and crispy. Now for the brisket, when I watch Man vs. Food and they show brisket it is usually juicy and tender, The order of brisket we had half was nice and tender and juicy, the other half was dryer. Overall the brisket was good though, I had really high expectations for it. Overall the food was good, the waitstaff ok, the waiting time was poor (I mean BBQ is cooked low and slow so the food should be 90% cooked before the customer even sits down), and the atmosphere was ok, and the price was ok. Overall I might return but only once the kinks are worked out from being a new restaurant. read more

Wow... Yum! So I got delivery.. yes Delivery from this place and I know I was taking a High risk of receiving dry bbq (who does bbq take out and why would you?) I did and I'm glad I did because it was Delicious! Okay so the customer service over the phone was Perfect! It was so tender and juicy and saucy (Melts in your mouth) Macaroni and cheese - Creamy and light, I enjoyed it Corn bread - So Good! Probably the best corn bread I've ever had? Yum. Fresh cut French fries - Very good. Overall I highly recommend this place, if you want some GOOD BBQ. For delivery to be this Good, imagine what happens when you dine in? Excellent food. I visited Toronto with four other friends and ordered the family meal for four. That was a lot of food - the ribs and the brisket were both very good. The amount of BBQ sauce they put on the meat was just perfect! The pull pork was tender and juicy. The chicken was just okay, nothing surprising - in fact a little bit dry. The mac and cheese side was just alright. The home fries was better than expected, tasted good but the portion was a little bit small. The CORNBREAD was the bomb. One of the best CORNBREAD I ever had in my life - you have to try the CORNBREAD. I repeat, you will regret if you do not order the CORNBREAD. Overall we were very satisfied with our experience here. Poor sevice Our server Kendra C ignored our table and proceeded to charge for an extra tea bag when normally they do not. We have been coming here for almost a year now and never once was charged for an extra tea bag nor have been told there was a charge for it. We got takeout from this place today when we were visiting my mom. We got the 4 meat platter which included cornbread, coleslaw and some scalloped potatoes. I have to say I was very impressed. We had the chicken wings, meatloaf, brisket and pulled pork. For the platter you get to pick which meats you want. Everything came to about $40 with tax. Randomly dropped in for a predinner snack with my boyfriend and we shared the chicken wing platter with cornbread, sweet potato fries and garden salad. The wings are dry rubbed then smoked. You have the option to sauce them but we chose to dip them instead. The wings were very meaty and, even without the honey garlic sauce we chose, the dry rub added great flavour! Fries were fresh and crispy, served with aioli. The cornbread was served warm with the maximum amount of crunchy crust but also perfectly moist in the middle. The garden salad was a garden salad. Overall, a really tasty treat! I can see why it deserved a feature on TV. Will definitely be coming back to sample the other bbq options. read more
