Rusty managed an emergency situation for me, delivering my belongings on time, without a scratch and under extreme circumstances. My move from San Ramon, CA to Reno, NV had to be orchestrated around the special needs of my disabled adult son. I needed to find a moving company willing to work with the complex staging requirements necessary to relocate the "safe" environment of an Agoraphobic. The movers needed to understand that they could not approach my son or ask him questions during this process. Rusty arrived with four strong, able bodied men who were more than capable of carrying down my flight of stairs heavy furniture without damage to the walls or items being moved. No one expected a major storm that weekend. The plan was to be on the road to Reno in time to beat one of the worst snow storms in recent history; (March 18 - 20, 2011). Rusty finished loading us; pulled out on time, and was on the road by 1:00 pm. Because he was proactively listening to the weather and traffic reports he knew Highway 80 had been closed at Auburn around 4PM that afternoon. He drove around the storm by taking HW 50, driving throughout the night, and not stopping until he was sure the worse part of the storm was behind him. He finally stopping at 3:00 am to rest, and delivered our belongings at 11:00 am the following morning. Rusty knew how important it was that my son's belongings be at the new house and his safe environment re-assembled by the time we drove up that afternoon. An interstate move is difficult enough for anyone. Moving a disabled adult from one state to another is even more difficult. Throw in unforeseen circumstances such as a major road closure and you have a very tense and frightening situation. I have used Rusty and his crew on at least 3 occasions, and they did such a great job I even had them move the law office I managed. I feel terrible it has taken me such a long time to write a review, but they just moved my neighbors and I saw them outside working (total coincidence) that I had to sit down and write this. In fact, they did such a great job working for me when I hired them to do the law office move, my boss hired them to move personal belongings for her household as well (brownie points for me)! Rusty is personable, professional, and prompt! The first time I used him was for my moving my mother out of her place - she was elderly and packing was difficult. Rusty had his crew come in, pack everything and then unpack it at the next place! Honestly I don't know why people move themselves anymore -- the price vs. my time and stress (and my breaking things) just didn't add up. After using him for my mom, and then pricing them out for my business move, I realized that not only are they the most professional, they are actually one of the most cost-effective movers out there. I won't ever pack and unpack again - and if a friend asks you to 'help them move' do yourself a favor, give them the number of a moving company that you trust - by the time they rent the UHual, buy pizza and beer and work you for 12 hours, the move would have been done (and if Rusty and his crew do it, it will be fun :))! Rusty and Bo was terrific to move me again for the third time. The Movers arrived right on time and it was amazing watching them do the incredible job they did. My furniture and all household items was treated like it was there's. The stairs looked so easy with the teamwork and it was pleasant to watch while showing their strength, skill and stamina with this incredibly difficult job. They are so professional and honest. I had misplaced my bag with personal items, jewelry, credit cards and some cash. Rusty went out of his way to help go through everything, he was so determined to find for me before anyone left. He found it in my laundry basket and it was all there They wrapped everything with moving blankets and binding plastic to keep it safe and performed above and beyond when getting my very expensive leather Sofa and ottoman into my tight apartment door. Not a scratch to be found. Excellent work. All furniture was packed then unpacked with smiles and very good natured even after going up and down three flights of stairs! I consider this to be the best of the best when it comes to personal service and moving. Bo helped setup my T V and was so kind to install my wall mount. Pyramid Movers moved us from Northern California to Denver, Colorado. Rusty came to our house, looked at our stuff and said we'd need one 26' truck and that we wouldn't even fill it. We had a few other quotes - all saying we would potentially need two 26' trucks. As it turned out, we filled about 2/3 of the 26' truck. For that alone, I'd recommend Pyramid but there's more. Rusty was excellent about communicating about various details regarding our move via email and phone. He also gave us details about how things would go on our move day and it all went to plan. His crew was amazing. Efficient, polite, funny and friendly. They came in and had our entire house in the truck in under 3 hours (we packed ourselves). Fast forward to arriving in CO -- The entire truck was unloaded in less time with a smaller crew. Not a single item was damaged. No scratches, no dings, no rips, nothing. That's a first for me. Every move I've done in the past, I've had at least one or two things damaged a little but Pyramid took care of our belongings. Rusty was even on site in CO overseeing and also unloading. He is committed to the success of his company and it shows. Their cost was competitive - not the lowest and not the highest but we trusted them from the start and felt like we were valued clients the whole way. Absolutely outstanding! I'd never hired a moving company before but I've heard horror stories from more than one person about their terrible experiences with movers. Pyramid is highly rated here on Yelp and A+ on BBB, so I requested an estimate. When I got a quote from the owner, Rusty, that seemed too good to be true, I was a little worried about the process, but everything was perfect! A crew of six showed up on moving day, right on time, and quite literally worked non-stop until the contents of my 1100 sq. ft. home was loaded in their truck. This included about 4 dozen very heavy boxes of books and some odd pieces of lumber. Nothing fazed them! No one took a break until it was all done, in about an hour. Then the foreman, Jimmy, and his son took off for my new house, 250 miles away. They met me the next morning, again right on time, and even more amazing than the day before, the two of them unloaded everything and moved it into my house in about an hour. These are some hard working men. Everyone was positive, friendly and courteous. They all worked with a great "let's do this now and get it done right" attitude. So impressed!! We conducted our due diligence with several moving companies and got price quotes. We decided to move forward with Pyramid Movers and we're glad we did. We were moving a 2bd/2bath into a 2bd/1bath, both in Oakland. We were quoted 2 movers, 3 hours. Jimmy & team arrived exactly on time, with three movers instead of two - told us they would provide the third person for no extra charge. Thank goodness they did, because we actually ended up having more stuff than we thought. The team was extremely efficient, careful, and FAST. This was the first time I'd used a moving company so I didn't know what to expect, but now I wonder what I would've done without them. They came in, disassembled and packed all of our large furniture, carried everything out within a couple rounds, and re-assembled/placed everything into our new home without a single scratch on a wall or trash left behind. What a refreshing way to do business. Pyramid came highly recommended by a friend who used them last year for his move from California to Montana. We just used them for our move out of Cali to Nevada. From the start with a plesent phone conversation with Rusty this was an easy process. On moving day the crew that arrived was lead by Jimmy, along with Eli, Carlos, and Dima. On-time with bright and shinning smiles with very positive attitudes. The care that they took to insure our stuff was well cared for was outstanding. Everything was padded, wrapped, and inspected before loading. Day-2, arrival at our new home. For the unload, we have Jimmy & Eli, two of the hardest working individuals I've come across in sometime. After a quick tour to give them the layout of the home, they went to work. Open letter to Pyramid Movers: Hello Marina and Rusty, The voice mail message I left has not been returned as yet. Therefore, I am writing this to tell you of an issue that my be of concern to you. For the most part, the movers were courteous, although more "friendly" than professional. However, lead man, Eric, was professional. The other two men asked to use my bathroom on a number of occasions. Several days after the move, I found the bottle of my prescription medication (Vicodin) empty. Although I cannot say for sure your men took the meds, I am suspicious. Additionally, I was told by Marina that 3 men and at 24' truck would be provided. Instead a pickup and a trailer were provided. There was minimal damage - although a corner of my roll top desk was broken. I placed a call to discuss the damage and my suspicions regarding the medication, but you haven't returned my call. We got everything we were hoping for and more from these guys. We needed help loading a 27' trailer to prepare for an out of state move of my retired parents. A lot of stuff from two physical locations needed to be loaded. The crew of Marcello, Jose, and Eli were supposed to arrive around 8:30 AM, and they arrived at 8:00 AM! NOTE: some reviews talk about them arriving late, but this was NOT the case with us. They jumped in and started getting things ready to load, and then the "magic" began. They were friendly, very helpful, and conscientious of our concerns for special pieces of furniture. They expertly got things loaded! By the end of the day, the trailer was loaded and we were extremely pleased with the results. Now my parents can breathe a little easier knowing their stuff is well packed and headed to their new home. Thank you, again, to the three brother team of Jose, Eli, and Marceleo! I found Pyramid Movers when I a local mover only moved in state. He suggested I call Rusty. I spoke to Rusty and thus began a conversation over a few days to make a date to come and pack up and move my things to my new pace in Portland Oregon. He had a trip or two ahead but his schedule fit a little short a day. That is I left one day before he could come and pick up. He picked up with my friend to help him identify all my boxes and furniture. He called to say he was on his way. Made a date for the next day. And sure enough on time and an excellent job of getting everything in the apartment. Located it where I wanted it and reassembled the bed. In no time and with no fuss and no muss Randy and his sidekick Dre did an excellent job. Even if I were moving across town here in Portland I would think to call. They are reliable, careful, hornet and a good sense of humor..Certainly a safe way to move. And all that for never having seen him before he arrived on schedule and moved us in. read more

Just wanted to let people know that this was the best moving experience that I have had yet. I've moved every 2 years, and this was my second time using a moving company usually me and my husband move ourselves. But because we had a bad experience with our first mover about 8 months ago, I didn't think that Pyramid Movers would be different, they all sound good in the beginning but when it comes to paying everything changes. I was expecting surprises and different hidden charges like the other movers, by the way don't use Starving Students HORRIBLE. Well with Pyramid we had NO surprises and the movers were awesome they did everything we asked of them, there were no damages to my furniture or our property. I have used moving companies to relocate a 2-3 bedroom home contents cross country 3 times! This moving service (start to finish) was superb. Rusty, the owner made this move as stress free as possible--he has a remarkable company and great staff. The actual moving crew in CA: Phil, Jose, Marcelo and Calvin were experts in what they do as well as being personable and polite. I was not present when the van arrived at my home in Michigan, but my brothers were. They commented on what a great guy the driver Calvin was & also mentioned the efficiency and care taken by the unloading crew. When I arrived days after the unload and was able to unpack--NOTHING was broken, dinged, missing, etc. The boxes were in the condition as when they were initially packed in CA. I would highly recommend Pyramid moving company with Rusty at the hem to anyone needing a trustworthy, efficient and reasonably priced service. It was the absolute best! read more

We went on Yelp to find movers at the last minute. We talked to Rusty who said he had to see if they could work it in and would get back to us. The next day Eric and his helper (sorry I forgot the name--you were wonderful) arrived at the time they said and worked very carefully and diligently. It was not a huge move, a 1 bed apt, but we were not really ready for them. They jumped in and got everything ready and moved my sister in 3 hours. She was happy, I was happy. A shelf had come out of the book case. Eric delivered it, put it in the book case and asked if everything was ok. II had read one review that was not good 1 star that went on and on--do not rely on that review. They were respectful, they worked super hard and efficient. Give them a call, I recommend them and will refer them to anyone I know moving in the Napa/Vallejo area. read more

These guys did an excellent job for us! We moved from CA to WA and got 2 quotes from large moving companies. Not only were they much higher than Pyramid Movers' quote, but they wanted us to pack up 2 weeks prior to our move to fit THEIR schedule. We read Pyramid's BBB rating and reviews and are very happy we decided to go with them. They blanket wrapped and taped each furniture item, giving special care to items we indicated were important to us. We moved an apartment and storage space full and they were very patient, as we weeded through the stuff in storage, deciding what would and would not go with us. Their communication and follow-through were great and they were courteous and professional throughout the move (not to mention very nice people). I connected with them through Moving Staffers to help load up my POD truck in San Francisco last Friday. Overall I can say they were fantastic and I will definitely be looking to use my group again when I move back to the city. (I believe that one of their names was Marcelo, but I didn't get the rest of their names unfortunately.) They showed up early to get everything wrapped, to make sure that I had enough time in my moving truck window. They asked me a few basic questions to get them set up, and then they were off and just took care of everything. They worked extremely quickly and effectively, and got everything taken care of and all of my items securely stowed away. They were professional, kind, helpful, quick, and effective, and definitely deserve a 10/10 for my move. Would recommend to anyone. read more

I booked Pyramid Movers through a 3rd party agency to move stuff from a storage facility in Oakland into San Francisco and had a very positive experience. They provided excellent on-time service, flexibility with scheduling even up to the last minute, and an efficient hardworking crew. They did not damage any of my furniture and were very patient when I changed my mind about where things should go. They finished up just under the estimated time for the move and there were no hidden fees. They even collected all the old packing material from me (there was a fee for that, but I asked them to take the material and we settled the fee ahead of time; it made my life easier). Hi there. AMAZING movers!!! Not really the review kind of a guy, but since I was asked to share my opinion about my moving experience, I like to repay people who do right by me. So here it goes: Pyramid Movers were professional, experienced and inspired confidence from the start. A young guy named Rusty came by for an estimate, knew what he was doing and was detail oriented, which I like. My biggest worry was moving my baby grand piano from Benicia, in the bay area, to Woodland Hills, down in Los Angeles. When the movers showed up they crated the piano in such a way, that it got to the destination in the same shape it left, along with all the other belongings and furniture. Our crew was amazing! José and his crew (Carlos, Marcelo, Isaiah, and Ali) were extremely knowledgeable and careful. They made quick work of thoroughly wrapping and protecting my mom's antique furniture. The way they filled the POD was absolutely expert! In addition to their exceptional skills handling our furniture and boxes, they were kind and polite, taking a moment to introduce themselves to my 80-year-old mother and shaking her hand. Their language was clean and appropriate (I didn't hear a single swear word, no matter how heavy the boxes or furniture was, even in 100 degree heat!). I can't say enough good things about them.
