Dennis and his crew were excellent for our short distance move. We had a LOT of stuff and they moved everything quickly and carefully. They also helped pack some stuff, especially the kitchen, that we were unable to pack due to lack of time/energy. The price is fair and competitive and they were able to do it in a day. They also helped disassemble and re-assemble furniture and put everything exactly as we like. The communication was great and they are just great guys in general. We ultimately chose them over other movers also because during the consultation stage, they facetimed with us and discussed quotes after seeing our place during facetime. I think that's important because we had key items we wanted to make sure were safe and they could also see how much stuff we had and prepare the right amount of people and time. Quantum did our near-town move (one city over) and knocked it out in a day. We moved from a 4,100 sf home to a 3,100 sf home - they quoted 3 trucks and said they could do it in a day. I didn't believe either but they showed up with nine guys, three trucks, and used every bit of those trucks lol. A crew of two came and packed up our 2bed/3bath townhouse in 1/2 a day, boxes clearly labeled and safely packed. The next day, a different crew of 3 came and did the move. Update: Dan's response is full of more lies. To hear the recordings, message me. I'll start with Stephen from customer service. He was very pleasant and thorough over the phone. I clearly explained that I needed to save money, would move smaller items myself, and only needed help with large furniture plus a 10x10 storage unit. After initially debating whether to include the unit, I confirmed that it should be included so everything could be done in one move. The original quote was $1,400 to $1700 at their original rate, but they matched another company's quote at $165/hr making it less overall. I was told I'd receive an email confirmation outlining the move, but I never did. Items to be moved: The storage unit contained a neatly stacked two-bedroom apartment worth of items: about 10 boxes, nightstands, dressers, TV stand, coffee table, dining tables with chairs, etc. No sofas or mattresses, and bed frames were already partially disassembled. The house was a three-bedroom move (two bedrooms already cleared), plus kitchen, living room, dining room, family room, and garage. Items included beds needing disassembly, desks, dressers, sofas, tables, refrigerators, and bottled water. The Move The plan was storage unit old house new house, all within 10 minutes of each other. Cortes, who was in charge of the move, arrived over an hour late. They were scheduled for 6:30am but didn't reach the storage unit until 7:37am due to GPS issues. I ultimately had to drive out and find them myself. I was told loading the storage unit would take 30 minutes. (Cortes later tried to argue he didnt tell me it would take 30 mins, big surprise there). I left to transport TVs myself (they charge $25 per TV). An hour passed and the movers still hadn't arrived at the house. When I called Cortes, he said they needed 15 minutes more. They later arrived an hour and a half later, continuing the pattern of inaccurate time estimates; terrible when you're being charged hourly. Once at the house, loading went relatively smoothly. They arrived just after 9am and finished the 1st load around 12:30pm. We arrived at the new house around 12:45pm. I walked Cortes through where everything was supposed to go to avoid re-moving items later. To save time and money, I explicitly told Cortes that the crew could leave items wrapped and that I would unwrap them myself. Despite this, the crew spent significant time unwrapping items anyway, time I specifically asked them not to spend, which added to the hourly charges. Before leaving, I again asked how long unloading would take and was told it would be much faster than loading. That turned out to be false. After 3+ hours, I called with no answer at 1st. When Cortes finally responded, he said they 1 more hr to go. At 4:30pm, my mom arrived at the new house and found furniture in the wrong rooms, heavy items stacked on boxes with glass, and the garage and house in disarray. During the final walkthrough, items were still placed in the wrong bedrooms, and pieces from two different tables had been mixed together and assembled incorrectly. It took an additional 30 minutes for the crew to disassemble and reassemble the correct table. When confronted, Cortes admitted he forgot where items were supposed to go, despite clear instructions and the ability to call me (I was only 5-8 minutes away). Notably, 4:30pm was the exact time I had been told earlier that they would be finished unloading, yet that was when I saw the truck back on the road heading to the old house for the second trip. Given the repeated delays and time overruns throughout the day, this raised serious concerns for me about unnecessary time being added to an hourly move. Damage, Billing, and Owner Response The move took 12 hours total to move a 10x10 storage unit and a 3 bedroom home. Cortes deducted $50 for two damaged items, but the total was still $2,000. I was also told it would cost an additional $60 just to use my debit card, forcing me to make multiple ATM trips. After they left, I discovered additional damage, including a large scratch on my brand-new Ashley Furniture TV stand. I contacted the owner, Dan, hoping to resolve this before writing a review. While he did respond, his message was condescending. He said I should be "lucky" I wasn't charged $3,000 and claimed I never mentioned the storage unit, which is completely false. All my calls are recorded, and I clearly discussed the unit with both Stephen and Cortes multiple times. When I asked about filing an insurance claim, I was told it would be "hard to prove" the damage wasn't pre-existing, despite the fact that my previous movers (used multiple times) never damaged a single item. Final Thoughts This company caused multiple damages, wasted time, poor communication, and dismissive customer service afterward. I tried to resolve this privately first, but that went nowhere. There are better moving companies out there that respect your time, your belongings, and your money. read more

NO STARS! Very very very bad and unprofessional customer service. Spoke to Steven the manager. He wanted to do video call to see the item needed to be moved. I was out of the house and told him will call back once I'm at home. He gave his direct number. Call went straight to voicemail. Called back the 1-800 number, he answered and said he is with another customer service and will call back but never did. I sent him a text message. He responded and said he can do the estimate in the afternoon around 3ish. I asked if sending videos and pictures would work. He replied, "Yeah that would help." Had a great experience with Quantum Moving. I moved using U-Pack (so a couple small containers) cross country from NY. I needed someone to help get the stuff to the apartment from the containers. I called Quantum Moving and they provided great advice on my best option (to have them pick up the stuff from the warehouse) and were very flexible as I was not going to be present to open up the containers. Overall, everything went smoothly. The driver was very communicative, they figured out where to park, and moved everything with no incidents and a lot of focus on being careful (using mats to prevent the floor from becoming dirty, putting things where I asked them to, etc). read more

This is a review for a move done back in July 2025. Moving into a new house and having a newborn has delayed my response haha. We were moving to Concord from Daly City and were looking for a reputable company. We had initially booked with a moving company we had used 2 times prior. We liked their service but they were expensive, even with the return discount, so we looked further into it. Was able to find some reviews about Quantum on Reddit and read further on yelp and google. It was pretty last minute on our end. Their pricing was significantly better than some of the other moving companies we had found but their reviews/ratings were very high so we were motivated to get something on the books. I spoke directly with the owner, they had to get creative because they had other people booked (move us out of our house on day 1 and move into house on day 2) but he was able to squeeze us in. Come move out day, their crew comes over and they are under the impression that they are moving everything out and into the new house today. Not a huge deal for us but me and wife would have to split our forces up because I had to stay and clean and do our walk thru with landlords at the original house. So maybe little tip, just confirm the owner and the scheduler are on the same page? That said, wasnt a huge deal for us and it totally worked out better that all of our stuff was getting moved in that day. I'll just be brief about the moving portion of things. The team that came out was absolutely A PLUS. These guys were machines and they took such great care of our stuff. Everything was wrapped up and protected. If you know anything about Daly City homes, you know theyre cramped and have steep stairs, these guys moved masterfully around everything and were quick about it. As for the new house, the logistics didnt get any better. We moved into a trilevel townhome and my 8 month pregnant wife oversaw them. She was absolutely amazed by how quickly and carefully these guys went up and down the 3 flights of stairs. They were patient with her giving directions on where to move things. Couldnt have asked for a better group of movers. Hopefully we dont have to move anytime soon. But if we did, for sure would call Quantum Movers. read more

Just moved between two Bay Area cities last month using Quantum Moving and wanted to share our experience. We're a family of 4 and honestly weren't sure what to expect. Dan was great to work with - he did a video walkthrough of our place to give us estimates for packing and moving. Really appreciated that he broke down the costs separately and was straight up about how much stuff we actually had (more than we thought!). We originally planned to pack ourselves but quickly realized we were in over our heads. Dan was super flexible and got his packing crew out to us on short notice, which saved us big time. The actual moving day went really smoothly. The packing team knocked out our whole house in about 3 hours, then the moving crew loaded everything up and got it to our new place in about 5 hours total. Updating my review: Used Quantum again recently for a local move, and while things were OK, it was not nearly as great as my 1st time last year. I think the experience varies depending on the team you get, and I wish I requested the same team. Because I used them before, it was easy to request this move and get an estimated quote, which was between X and Y. Things were great until the team arrived day of. First, I was given paperwork to sign. I asked to confirm the quote, and the number he gave me was $325 more than Y. I was surprised, but what can I do? I'm all packed up to move already and have a 7 month old in hand to take care of while moving.... After all was done, the final price ended up being $100 more than Y (ie less than what the day-of number was but still more than my original). I've only ever used movers for long-distance moves in the past, so not sure if this is the norm for local moves, but they charged by the hour, and I felt like I was being nickel and dimed. They billed for every 15 mins and also billed me $30 to pack the TV, whereas last time, they did all that for free. Second, when he arrived and saw that I had a few small items (2 kitchen floor mats, 1 front door mat, 5 small trash cans, 1 large kitchen trash can) that weren't in boxes, he told me he would sell me boxes to put them into. I told him last time I used Quantum, they put all those things into wardrobe boxes. Actually, last year, I didn't even ask, and they told me they'd take care of it (I initially thought I'd throw them in the car). After I asked if he could just put them into wardrobe boxes, he obliged, but after putting everything into the truck, I still noticed they left things behind: 3 small trash cans, the front door mat. Again, while taking care of baby, my hands were tied. I didn't bother asking if they could please take those too bc I felt like I was having to request every tiny thing, and honestly didn't want to piss anyone off because my priority was completing the move and to minimize any damage to our stuff. I ended up having to leave those behind and have my husband make a trip out to pick them up later after work. I haven't fully unpacked but the furniture seems undamaged, and the kitchen box items are not broken. All in all, I still felt like they did a good job, but it was just not nearly as great as before. Last time, I didn't feel stressed, but this time... all the above caused a lot of stress on top of an already stressful time. read more

This was my first time using movers. I moved many times before, always with friends. So I don't have a reference point. I guess these guys weren't too bad, but it surely was a stressful day - more than my other moves. 10 times more costly too. And I measured 25,000 steps that day, chasing these movers around :) On the other hand, this move was somewhat faster, and I got the beds reassembled, nothing lost, and not many things broken. So I rate this at 3 stars. The main lesson here is - don't rely on what the sales guy tells you - get the contract in advance. We were moving from a 2/2 apartment and full garage into a much bigger house, some 10-12 miles away. We had some plants too. The sales guy said there will be 4 people with 2 trucks. Also, a big selling point was that they cover any damage up to $5000 or so, as opposed to some measly insurance amounts others told me. Well, these weren't quite true. - The guys showed up 20 minutes early, so my breakfast didn't happen. - They came with 1 truck! As a result, some stuff didn't fit. We ended up doing several trips next two days, about 5 SUVs worth of things, total. - They came with a 2-page contract of a low contrast tiny text. It was hard to read and understand quickly, while 4 people were just standing there. The maximum amount was higher than I was told by email, and the packing services didn't quite match, so there was some back and forth, calls to the office, etc. It took too much time, so I didn't question other things in the paper. Just signing the contract cost me about $150 - the 40 minutes at $220/hr. - They were fast and efficient. Too fast sometimes - I had to rescue my day bag from the truck. - One thing that was a surprise - they charge double for driving time. Maybe that was in contract that I didn't get a chance to read. - At the destination, it turned out they don't have enough of the promised floor covering, so I had to improvise from my supplies (see the picture). Eventually, they got extra covering from somewhere. - When assembling furniture, there was no way that they would stay on the covered part (we have new carpets). So I gave them a plenty of boot covers. But they kept ignoring that and walked on carpet. I had to tell them 2 or 3 times and watch them closely. They also ignored Do Not Stack labels a couple of times. No damage, though. - When it turned out they broke a piece of furniture, they said I can get some 50 cents for it (it was very light). Turns out they don't really have a $5K coverage included. Awesomely, one guy just paid a fair value to me directly, out of his pocket! Just beware - coverage is NOT included. - Completed the move in about 9 hours, and the guys skipped lunch, apparently (and so did I). - The video walk-through in advance was a great idea. Although still things didn't fit. Overall, nothing was terribly bad, and maybe that's good enough when it comes to moving :). I am not sure if I will use movers again, though. If I do, I will try someone else, for comparison. read more

These guys clearly put a lot of thought and care into what they do - they remember the layout of my old apartment so that things were put thoughtfully into their new place in the new place without much supervision, and the way they packed our boxes made a lot of logical sense. We first used them moving from Sacramento to Pleasant Hill and then again 2 years later for a move to Martinez when we bought our home. I was moving from Oakland to SF and was overwhelmed with all of the options. After calling a few places, I was getting pricing all over the spectrum so I decided to check Reddit and found a few people mentioned Quantum. Planning / Logistics: Dan was super responsive and helpful right away. Very transparent pricing, thoughtful responses and got everything going super quick. Day of the Move: Cortes (my dispatch contact and lead mover) called about 45 mins before and again 10 minutes before which I appreciated, and they started at 7:45am (which I also loved because the earlier we can get going, the better!). Cortes, Elias and Beto were all absolute professionals. They got working right away, were super careful with all of the boxes we had already packed and took extra care in wrapping, disassembling and everything else. They worked hard and worked fast. I received another call the morning of our move, to let me know that they were on their way and would arrive in 20 minutes. George, Candido, and Isaac arrived on time.
