We paid $14,000 for this company. we packed ourselves. They were horrible to communicate with, and delivered only 60% of our things, very damaged. Weeks later, after many calls, they delivered 10 additional boxes; heavily damaged. Our furniture is broken. Our Xmas ornaments are missing. They were rude and horrible about it. Avoid this company at all costs!!!

Moved me on Thursday and parked across my office on Tuesday. These dudes are everywhere!

Left the same review below for their North Bay location which is up in Rohnert Park I believe. I'm not sure what crew was used for our move (I think north bay crew), considering we moved from San Anselmo to San Rafael so it's about an even drive time for either crew. Either way, they did a great job with our move so here goes... These guys rock. Got a recommendation from a friend who used them a couple times and Yelp reviews speak for themselves. From the walk through, to moving day, to tips on moving, to accuracy of quote, to overall value, R & M delivered for me and my family on moving day. We were in the process of buying our first home so trying to nail down a moving date was tough to begin with. Dave offered up a few different days and times, suggested we do early in the day since it was a short distance move and then also mentioned, if we need to reschedule just give him about a week heads up if possible. Lucky for us our move date didn't need to change, so Dave swung by our house for a walk-through. He gave us tons of tips on how we can make this move efficient and affordable...for example: - Start boxing up as much as you can, kitchens take the longest so if you feel comfortable - Label boxes on both sides and the room you want them to go to (i.e. Kitchen - glassware) - Un-assemble the Crib - Create a "parts" box for all the things that need to get un-assembled and wrap those parts in packing paper, tape and label it. - Roll rugs up if you can - Take down all photos, paintings - Leave clothes in dressers - Anything on hangers goes in wadrobe boxes so those just can stay right where they are. Asked about tipping too, because for as long as I can remember I never know how much to tip the actually movers - about $20 per guy is right, a little lower or higher depending on size and time spent. Packing up a 5 bedroom house for example, go higher. For us we were packing up our 2 bedroom town home. Local moves are priced generally on size and time, so if you can reduce time the guys have to spend just packing stuff up or trips back and forth to the Anyway, the guys (evan, Sean or John, and Solomon) arrived around 730am, they were polite and personable and these guys moved fast. Our stuff arrived safe and sound and couldn't be happier with the service. Highly recommend for local and state moves, and I believe they handle long-distance out of state as well. Also, they have storage if you need to use it temporarily. Didn't need to use it since we are actually in desperate need of furniture, but good to know.

Movers, James and Jeremiah, after completing moving job.

This company is very professional from start to finish. James and Jeremiah were my assigned movers. They showed up on time, were very friendly, efficient with time, took care in handling belongings, and accommodating with all of my requests. They made the whole process run as smooth as you can expect. Highly recommended.

Ask the Community - Robb & Messer Moving and Storage

Do you offer long distance moving? If so, how far are you willing to move a customer and what is your pricing for long distance moving?

When in the time window provided did you stuff arrive--on the earlier or the later end?

Earlier to on-time for our move. I think it just depends but they were pretty efficient.

The location is convenient, access is easy during open hours, and I always felt safe with the security measures in place. However, there were two notable issues: 1. Lighting: The area where my unit was located had very poor lighting. Despite having a spacious unit, I had to use my phone flashlight every single time I accessed my storage, which was inconvenient and frankly a safety concern. I think installing a single motion-activated lightbulb in the storage room would make a huge difference for customers. 2. Customer Service: This was the most frustrating part of my experience, as I was consistently met with vague answers, impatience, and rudeness. When I specifically asked what happens if I go over my checkout date, instead of explaining the late fee policy, Charles told me "just come back when you're fully done, everyone checks out late anyway" -- no mention of fees. Days later, he suddenly told me there would be a late fee "on the 11th day." I was already a few days over at that point, forcing a last-minute scramble to avoid additional charges. At checkout, when I asked how many days I owed (the bill was hundreds of dollars), he dismissively said "I don't know" with a rude tone. When I requested an email receipt, he refused although the email option was clearly visible on the screen. This was hands-down the most unprofessional customer service I've experienced at any storage facility. Storage and moving out were already very stressful, and customer service should make it easier, not harder. I hope management takes this feedback seriously and emphasizes professionalism, patience, and respect when dealing with customers.

On move in day, we realized that the unit I had signed for wasn't large enough for my belongings. Charles swapped me to a larger unit on the spot. He also recommended a moving company that SPS partners with so that I could receive a discounted rate on my move. The units are clean and cool temperature wise, and the building is secure. My belongings were in perfect condition when I retrieved them a year later.

Pros: 24/7 access…read moreSecure Drive-up access Cons: MOLDY I put items in storage here when I was moving out of an apartment in SF and had to stay in temporary housing for a few weeks, which turned into a few months while settling into my new place. When I moved into this and another unit, there was a musty smell that was a dead giveaway there was mold. So I stored everything I could in airtight / water-tight containers. Obviously I couldn't protect my bike and a few other large items, so before the rains started in October, I stopped by my unit to throw tarps over the other large items. I took photos every time I visited my unit just in case anything happened (theft, damage, etc.) When I went to clean out my unit 2.5 mo later, the bike, a storage box that had a textured surface, and all of the tarps had to be thrown away because they were covered with mold. I have been recovering from exposure to toxic mold that made me extremely ill, so I am still to sensitive to even be handling such items. At least the bike got plenty of use before this storage unit rendered it hazardous to my health. So while you will gain convenience in accessing your items whenever you want, the converted shipping containers have leaks and mold. Plan accordingly. Three stars for the (seemingly) affordable price and good security.

Also my chair was moldy due to rain need to have that cleaned but it's 100 and haven't gotten my deposit back to have it cleaned. So yes 24 hours open but has cost me in the long run. Disappointed.
