Added bonus: the move came to just over 500.00 for a move from El Cerrito to Oakland. A few years ago, Starving Students did the reverse move in 5 hours and charged me more than double. My packers came on time and ready to go and finished in close to the quoted time. That's where the positiives end. I needed help due to physical limitations and I feel like I've been taken for a ride. Everything I owned had been haphazardly shoved into boxes with minimal padding (and in some cases, my own clothing used as padding). Things were sloppily labeled and it took me weeks to wort thru all of the boxes labeled vaguley (i.e. "Closet Stuff", "Kitchen") with no further indication of what was actually in most boxes. My laptop was shoved into a box without padding and pressed against the cardboard. It's now dented and wont turn on. Empty boxes from the pantry and essentially trash had been packed away, even though I requested no perishables or open items be packed. Items of note that were thrown into a box without care/packaging: - glass scale - my MacBook Pro (not functioning anymore) - culinary spray bottle (broke) - dirty pans from the stove (I requested these be left on the stove for future use) - matching shoes in DIFFERENT boxes - various office/computer electronics (jostling around, no padding) I still need to do a full audit of damages caused by careless packaging, but just the laptop and immediately noticeable damaged office equipment is thousands of dollars of damage. So the realtively affordable packing job costed me much more than anticipated in damages, time, and overall effort. If you hire these guys, you'll need to watch them like a hawk and I pray you're not disadvantaged in a way they think they can take advantage of.

It's unfortunate because I wanted to give this guy a chance. But once trust is broken I WILL NOT REFER ANY BUSINESS TO THIS LOWLIFE. You removed and tore furniture apart including the Tvs. Notice how he didn't clear up disappearing with my furniture for hours claiming to have run out of gas but used the excuse to go through my personal belongings and take my items! Thank god for calls being tracked and the camera footage which shows what he left with but didn't return. He doesn't present contracts because he's not legally able to. When a week before our move we needed to change a date by two weeks because of construction delays, that was not a problem. When at the last minute we asked if we can add a piano to the list of moved items, that was fine as well. But most importantly was the care the guys took with our items! They wrapped every piece in the soft blanket and added plastic wrapping outside to keep in place. They stacked items in the way that nothing would get damaged. On delivery, they were on time and moved everything to designated rooms and assembled everything we needed! No scratches or damages in the house when moved out or moved in! All the horror stories I heard from friends who have moved before and I was so worried about - not the case with this team! Highly recommend!
