Puttshack is a lot of fun. Each game is 9 holes and the houston location has 4 different courses to play. I made a reservation for 5 and 6pm and they were so busy and I guess running behind. Ending up playing at 520pm but there was just so many people. Constantly having to wait to play the next hole. Also the wait to get a drink was insane. Waited maybe 15 mins at the bar just to get a drink. Hopefully they can work out the kinks since they only just recently opened. But it's still a good date night idea. read more

Great place for date night or hanging out with friends! Parking can be a headache so make sure you arrive on time before your reserved time slot. I ended up parking 3 blocks away and just walking. Timing can be a little delayed if you are behind a big group of people but it is also fun to watch them putt and see the different strategies people use. The space is very nicely decorated and fun with different pops of color and light. They have a bar area with food available and different courses that you can choose to putt at. "Probably the worst thing I have ever experienced"- my friend who was in town for the weekend and invited to the new Puttshack. Below is our experience. Walked in and our names and tee time were completely wiped out from their "high tech system". They led us to 2 different courses to figure it out. No answer. They tried adding us to a random persons tee time that had already finished just to get it through! This still didn't work. In the end a waste of 2 hours. Took 30 minutes to speak with someone to refund us at the end. Ridiculous. read more

We both ended up getting flatbreads and splitting an app and having some drinks. Everything was delicious and we had plenty left over to take home as leftovers as well. Went here around 9 PM on a Sunday night! I recommend pre-registering so that you don't have to check in at the front and can go right upstairs to the fun! Especially helpful if you are running late! They have a good amount of courses here that all have different themes. We ended up playing one round, which was a lot of fun! We enjoyed the distractions during the course lol! Afterwards we went to the restaurant to grab food and drinks. The crab dip was really good. I would definitely get it again. It came out fresh! Arrived at 3:30 with my wife, ladies at host stand weren't super helpful with assisting us with checking in. Once we checked in we sat & ordered. Our waitress was nice but she needs to study the menu a little more. Ordered 2 glasses of wine and chicken & waffles, wrong choice! It's on flatbread which is weird, waffles are already breaded. Nothing was hot, was served lukewarm. Not very exciting, it's the type of thing where you'd say "I can make this better at home".. The Entire entree was Covered in powdered sugar with micro greens on top. (???) Comes with a side of mediocre jalapeño gravy. I'm not sure what they were thinking with this combination but now my stomach hurts. Chicken dip was decent, came with tortilla chips and lays chips. lol seems like whatever they had back there that looked like chips, were included. Why? - You can't cheat - there are opportunities for bonus points - Each putt station has more interesting obstacles and ways to score more or less - the scoring is done for you and they have their own point system. It's designed to count your move and calculate points. The interior design and layout is different than Puttery. Customer service is good here. Clean and cool looking restrooms. FOOD & DRINK: Porn star martini - I like it. Sweet drink but not too sweet. Pretty good. Rating: 5/5 Spiced pineapple mezcal margarita - The waiter claimed it to be very spicy and only the popsicle was a little spicy. But bear in mind I grew up eating spicy foods (habanero-level). Therefore anything considered spicy for the average American or anyone sensitive to spices is barely spicy since my tolerance is high. Rating: 4.5/5 Lamb skewers - The lamb was cooked just right. Moist and juicy. Comes with a dip, pita bread, and diced vegetables. The pita bread was good. The dip was decent. Rating: 4/5 Meatballs - Comes with toasted sourdough bread. The meatball and sauce needed more flavor. Moist on the inside. Rating: 2/5 Poutine - The worst dish we ordered. Extremely salty to the point of disgust and it's torture eating it. Cook needed to chill on the salt or use less salty bacon. Rating: 0/5 Parking is available in the garage for $24 if you're staying about 2 hours. Less if it's 1 hour or less. FORE! Yeah..that's about all of the golf lingo I know. Thankfully, I didn't need to use any of it at this place. I've never been a lover of golf, but I do enjoy miniature golf, so Puttshack was right up my alley. The venue is fairly new to Houston, so it's a great option to experience something different in the city and explore downtown a bit more. This place has a great ambiance that includes multiple courses (you reserve the one you want), TVs, and a full-service bar. My expectations for food at venues like this are never that high, BUT many of their menu options are DELICIOUS! From the crab dip to the Korean BBQ Bao Buns, my inner foodie was satisfied. They were out of the Wood Fire Thai Octopus, so now I have an excuse to go back. I highly recommend this place for a fun date night or family gathering. SOMETHING TO NOTE: If you're not a fan of big crowds I would recommend going on a weekday that's not a holiday or a Friday. Because of Puttshack's downtown location, there isn't a parking lot, so you'll have to find a spot on the street or use the nearby parking garage off of Lamar Street. read more

Date Night!!!! Date night at Puttshack was definitely a fun experience. From when we walked in, you had to walk up lit stair case. Got to the top and checked in. We were on the ruby course. Rules where, we have cameras, so don't trip and fall. Nine is the last hole, where you don't get your ball back, you can do any order 1-8. The ball keeps track of everything through a chip. Started the puttshackin and immediately was intrigued. Ordered a mezcal spicy pineapple margarita from the menu. BEAT my man a lot to a little, and the bet was he bought our food at the end of our date (which he did anyway ). Once finished the put course, we sat down where the waitress was very pleasant. She took our drink orders and food orders and had great recommendations. Ordered the thepitmaster which was a 8.5 out of 10, I asked for crispy edges. My man ordered the chicken and waffles flatbread and he rated it 5/10. It wasn't enough chicken on there. The drinks was awesome! Recommend coming here for a chill date night! Had a team dinner here and it was absolutely a blast. Spent the first 2 hours playing putt putt with a group of 10 and no issues at all. (FYI Thursdays after work is pretty calm) We then had dinner and had Jean as our server. He was absolutely amazing. Where do I even start? We were deciding between a putting place on Washington and this place downtown. We decided to come to Puttshack for a special occasion. Parking is not convenient downtown. We get there and most of the tables had a reserved sign. We sat at a high bar top table. We felt rushed while looking over the menu. We ordered several items and our server kept telling us they were out of it. One of the appetizers we ordered was available. It came out and we didn't get any plates, napkins or silverware. We had to go to the bar and ask for it. We finally got ready to play and were told after we paid, that only 2 areas were open to play. The young lady at the desk was rude and not helpful at all. We paid and were told to go check in. Again, we didn't know where to go. We moved over to some area with screens and just stood there. There was a young man talking to the rude young lady. He came over and told us to grab a club and where to start playing. We had fun playing but again we only had one area to play in with only 9 holes. We could hear other employees being very loud and unprofessional. Every single restroom stall was out of toilet paper. This place seemed overstaffed but the employees were all standing around talking and on their phones. There wasn't any managers around or anyone cleaning and restocking the restrooms. This was a fun place! Good vibes, friendly service all around, and tasty food. I got the empanadas, and while the flavor was good, they were all dough! Very little filling. The Atlanta hot sandwich was pretty good. The DESSERT was my favorite! We got the crème brûlée with beignets and oh my goodness. Delicious. Came by around 4:30pm on a weekday with a large group and played on the Emerald course. The area was pretty small and have couple other groups going at the same time. Luckily we were able to switch around and only needed to wait for the 9th hole. The course was pretty fun and we enjoyed the creativity of each hole, the potential bonus points and added technology for score keeping. For about $15 per person, the price seems reasonable. Ordered couple different cocktails and appetizers. Personally, the cocktails are too sweet, had to switch back to beer. The appetizers are pretty standard bar food, nothing special. We relocated to the dinning areas after finished playing. There were a group of staffs goofing around, talking/ laughing very loudly right next to us with no situational awareness, to the point one of them almost ran into us and we could not hear our conversation, found it annoying and kinda rude... Overall, enjoyed the putt putt, not a fan of the drinks or service, but doesn't hurt to try at least once for the experience. read more

Came here with my family for my sisters birthday. Me and my friend both ordered a Dr. pepper. But when we finally got them my friends tasted like root beer and mine tasted like coke. My Sister in law gave my husband and I her reservation after something fell through with her. We figured it miniature golf so more like a family thing. We took our 6 month old at 8:30 pm. Puttshack Hi There! I had extremely high hopes for this place. I was sooo excited to finally be able to visit! The letdown was extreme ! Long story short ... HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE and I highly doubt I'll revisit this establishment. Let's start from the beginning... Location: If you were unaware, this establishment is located in the middle of downtown Houston. Parking: The parking is very very scarce. This establishment does not offer any type of parking services (no valet). I ended up parking in a ticketed parking garage. The cost was $25, but they charge by the hour! I believe I was parked there for about two hours. There is also street parking available but you will also have to pay a meter unless you park after 6 PM. So, in my very humble opinion, parking is a super deterrence in choosing this place over top golf. Experience: When you first enter the establishment, the host does I do you to make sure you're over the age of 21 because they have a bar. The host also asked if you have a reservation or not. Sheesh ... the letdown... if you have not previously made a reservation before you arrive at this establishment, they do not... and I repeat do not... make reservations for you. They will have you to go online, make reservations, and then check in. The host told me there is no way to get on any type of waitlist unless you make your own reservations online. Once I did all of that, I went upstairs to the check in line. That host explained that the establishment was full and it would take about an hour to putt. I decided to just dine and have a cocktail while I waited. Upon being seated they just guided me to a table and told me that my server would over. Once Donye arrived, she did not greet me with her name, or any type of greeting for that matter. She started off with "are you ready to order". I explained I had never been here before, and I needed a second to go over the menu. She then started explaining to me that the bar was out of most of the alcohol to make the signature cocktails, and the kitchen was out of most of the food to make the signature meals! HOW... HOWWWWWW is this possible?!? I ended up ordering the crab dip as an appetizer, Caesar salad as a meal, and a regular lemon drop for my cocktail since they didn't have anything else available. Donye definitely needs a little more training. She didn't greet me with her name, she didn't bring me a water, she didn't know how to pronounce some of the alcohol on the menu, she kept disappearing for long periods of time, and she gave me the incorrect time that the bar closed. At 10:45pm I went to the bar myself, and tried to order a glass of wine. Jay, the bartender (black female, dark blonde and black braids, maybe around 25 to 30 years old), rudely told me "I am not making any more drinks tonight, period." I explain that my server, Donye, told me the bar did not close until 11 PM. Jay, the bartender, said "Well, I'm closed" YIKES! This was an experience, but a unpleasant one. read more

The service in the place is horrendous, I always like to give places a try when I read other reviews talking about bad service. The other reviews are spot on. It was our first time, we walked in checked in on the kiosk and then asked the employee at the check in desk what to do next. He was in the middle of a conversation with two other employees did even turn around and said "just find your name on a screen". Rude but ok. We had 30 minutes before our start, went to the bar for a drink waited 15 minutes before being told they'd be right with us, another 15 minutes go by and still NO service. Hostess and managers ruined the experienced for me. Came here for a family birthday. I had reservations for 4 pm and dinner reservations for 4:30 pm. I asked if I could swap the order as my party had older adults that had not eaten. One of the hostess thought it should not be a problem, but a second host came with really bad attitude and said that it could not be done. I for a fact saw at least 6 long tables opened in the back and they refused to seat us. The tables remained empty later on. I then proceeded to ask for the manger to which the hostess grunt and proceeded to say that it wouldn't matter but I still insisted. Once Natalie the manager came I could see she had spoken to the hostess in the back as she came with a very cold demeanor and she told me we she couldn't accommodate us. One sweet lady with red hair (who I sadly forgot to get her name) was very sympathetic and tried to help by talking to a second manager but we still had not result as the second manager failed to even acknowledge us even though we were right in-front of her. We only stayed because of her and how she was seemed upset of how poorly we were treated. This place has potential but unless the management and hostess get spoken to and taught some proper customer service,I don't see any future. We still ate here and played (we were decent size group) but I doubt we'll be back unless something changes. I happen to be a content creator and I don't think I'll promote this place for this reason. I just don't understand why 30 minutes could have broken their system when they themselves told me we had a 30 minute grace period to begin our game. They sadly ruined my experience and part of our birthday celebration as this incident soured the mood. read more

Staff ignored customers as we battled with in check-in machines that were malfunctioning. The drink tables around the games were dirty, some wet, several with empty glasses on them - staff still standing around playing on their phones or hanging out ignoring customers. No one one asked us if we wanted a drink while playing. Food: we sat a table without a reserved sign - no service, staff just hanging out with their friends. Finally I had to go ask someone in the bar area how to get food service. I was then told to return to the check-in area and book a table. NO THANK YOU! Venue is awesome. Lack of booking guidance and very rude door person. When you book - when it asks if you'd like to go another round... say yes! If not, you'll pay for only one course of 9 holes, and may not get to play the other courses. Once we finished the course, there wasn't anymore reservations or availability for any other courses - it was opening weekend - so they were booked. Although it was raining and the courses weren't full..at all.. due to weather.. they still wouldn't allow us another round. Parked in the Houston Center garage and couldn't get back in the building. Ironically there's one way in and out of Puttshack - Through an exterior door on the first floor. So although it's on the 3rd floor.. you actually have to go down to the first floor.. go outside to their door, and take a bunch of stairs or elevator back to the third floor. Why wouldn't you have a mall/building access??! So anyway.. we parked in the garage to the building.. and couldn't get back to the garage once we exited the building to get to the entrance of puttshack. Had to walk around the outside of the building, in the rain, to get back to the car. FIRE THE DOORPERSON. Whomever was on the door the evening of 4/28. He was extremely rude. Wouldn't let anyone in the lobby unless they stood in the rain while he checked ids. Very rude tone. Yelling at people to display their ids. He assumed people knew he was checking ids. He finally started letting people out of the rain.. and he watch a couple walk right passed him and didn't ask them for their id, then after they walked passed him unknowingly.. he yelled at them to display it. He rushed people out there door, shooed people away. He treated everyone like CRAP. He had curly hair and acted like he was door security if the world. His attitude did not fit the vibe of the establishment and was an instant mood killer. Remove this man from your business immediately!!! Aside from that.. it's new.. they're still working out the kinks, and the staff aren't fully trained and aware of how things work. I was surprised at a few things since they just opened Wednesday.. how is the logo and ball markings wiped off the balls already? A screw was missing from one of the holes on the course, one course with the air hockey theme.. the hockey pucks were supposed to move and they were broken. The system glitched and wouldn't pick up our ball and assigned it the wrong score on the last hole. Everything should be in peak shape and operation opening weekend. The venue was fantastic. Very big.. nice bar area, (we didn't eat, but heard the food was good!), we also heard the drinks were good too! (We only had beer because we'd had dinner and drinks before we arrived.) I'd consider giving it another try, but perhaps in a few months when things are more settled. read more
