Not just for golfers, came with a group of friends fora birthday to play pickleball and have dinner. Had a great time even though the weather dampened the experience a little as it was a very cold day ~45 degrees. It was fine if you were on the courts but once still the sitting area had coverings that blocked the warmth of the sun. After pickleball we decided to got eat inside to get away from the cold. Food wise, apps were small portions. Small basket of chips and smaller cup of guac and queso than most places but with a heftier price. Chicken sandwich was good, but spicy is not at all spicy and the sauces we asked for on the side to give more heat didn't give any. You definitely have to be one of those people who think black pepper is overly too spicy. Kettle chips came with a lot of people sides and they tasted burnt, one friend looked like he was served the bottom of a lay's bag as the other friend had fresh off the top. Presentation lacking. I got the corn in a cup and I'd have to say it was pretty delicious. Half way through our meal as we were sitting near the garage doors they decided to open them and bring all that 40 degree cold weather in, now we are sitting trying to eat trembling with our coats on because they said they had a singer about to perform. About to them means 45 minutes later when we are closing out our checks. I mean they could have waited till they were ready or people who wanted to hear could have went outside or even if you just cracked the garage door a little or bring some heaters without having to ask multiple times to get one. My food 4/5 Others 3/5 Restaurant staff 3/5 Pickleball 5/5 Golf - 9 course par 3 with a putting area and driving range. Views are nice, have enjoyed them on previous warmer visits. Bar - friendly Bar cost - it's inside the loop so you will get a little less for a little more in cost. read more

I have been here a few times and even had a private party here. The food is a little overpriced for the quality. The drinks are good but we added an extra shot to the margaritas. Grab a group of friends to enjoy pickle ball, golf or live music. This place can get crowded so avoid the peak hours. There is plenty of parking for free. read more

The three stars are for the venue itself. It's lovely. It's right on the bayou, the views are nice, the golf course, pickleball courts, and ping pong table are nice. The outdoor seating with large tv, right on the bayou makes a good chill setting. The restaurant food, however, is not great. It's basic options but the food itself is mediocre. We for the nachos and at first they came out with no meat, which is in the description so we had to send that back. The queso on it is not great. The quesadilla was just ok. Our waiter was great and nice. Food came out fast but it just wasn't worth the price. I'd go there for drinks and to relax, but don't go for the food. read more

East River 9 is a nice, outdoorsy establishment that offers Pickleball and Golf. For our visit, we opted for the Pickleball experience, which may require a reservation to ensure that you have an opportunity to play depending on the time of day and weather. From my friend's prior experience (with East River 9 being booked and busy) she made a two hour reservation in advance for our Pickleball session. Unfortunately, we came at time when it was prime time heat time (at least it sure did feel like it) on a Saturday (which I definitely wouldn't recommend), however, we still had a grand time. As it pertains to cost, the two hour session was about $85, which was approximately $21 (if you have four people) per person. One thing to note is that East River 9 also allows for you to rent paddles and balls for about $7, in the event that you don't own paddles or balls. The court is fairly nice and there is a covered seating area with fans that is close to the court. Additionally, they have water coolers strategically placed outside. There is also a restaurant a few steps away from the court (disclaimer, I didn't have the opportunity to try the food here). To sum it all up, a goodT, active time was had here! read more

I've always had a good time at East River 9. You can spend a pretty penny, but you'll have a few hours of sweaty entertainment. Yay to burning cals while sippin' some frozens. East River 9 has Pickleball courts (I think six); and they offer open play, league games and tourneys, private court bookings... I think I've played there about 3-4 times since they opened. Their other big attraction is the par-3 golf course, driving range, putting area, patio games, occasional live music... all with beautiful views of Houston's skyline. I paid about $50 for a court res on a Saturday afternoon (5pm), but I see on the app most other times are $27... perhaps they lowered their price. Open play is $10/person Sun, Wed-Thu 6-10pm. Live music is Fri-Sat 6-8pm. RiverHouse Houston is their onsite restaurant/bar. read more

Tried this spot for the first time on a Sunday. It's very spacious inside with amazing views or downtown. This location offers a gold course available for booking. There is also both indoor and outdoor seating available. I ordered the shrimp Po boy. It didn't not come with the corn relish topping as pictured so I had to ask my waiter to bring it. Love this place. We're hosted a birthday party and rent 3 of the pickle ball courts. The kids had a blast. The only down side was ordering food Was difficult because they don't have large orders of food options. So we ordered a bunch of kids meals, which was a little hectic, but it all worked out. Decided to get a few people together to play pickle ball at East River. It cost about $50 to rent a court for an hour, and divided by a group, was a decent price. Not gonna lie, it was empty, so we were able to play in two courts, which was nice! The employees were super kind and helpful too. Weather was great. Prior to playing pickleball, my husband and his friend got some golf balls and hit a bit before our scheduled pickleball court time! Definitely come check it out on a Friday night. Perfect combo of Pickleball and food. This facility has several outdoor pickleball courts, a golf course and a gift shop. The staff is friendly and it's a nice place to get a few games in of whatever you like to play and then wrap the day up with good food and drinks. The on-site restaurant has both an indoor and outdoor seating area and superb food. The service was so so, but we didn't have a large group, so perhaps that slowed things down more than usual. My first time here. I came for a golf clinic and then decided to grab breakfast afterwards. The breakfast tacos with the BaBa sauce is everything, and the street corn goes perfect with it. I came here to play pickle ball with my family and friends, and it was such a great time. There are several courts that you can reserve ahead of time and you can bring your own balls and paddles or rent them if you don't have any. They have lights you can play at night or during the day. The skyline is Houston is so gorgeous to watch as you play pickle ball. It's nice that they have a restaurant at the golf course as well for drinks and food. The restaurant hosted Houston Blues Festival outside but failed to turn off the music in outdoor speakers even after several requests. FAIL! Zero stars if I could. read more

Pickleball is America's newest pastime and I'm on the train baby, choo choo. I've been playing since last summer and really enjoyed it, but my friends weren't super interested YET but now they're starting to come around. You'd be surprised but I'm actually very competitive and although I'm not a pro, it's a fun recreational sport I'm decent at! I like the sport of pickle. East River 9 is beeeeautiful. Like stunnin'. I don't play golf but if I did I feel like this would be the place? It's a 9 hole course. Ummmmmmm-- based on my limited knowledge that's shorter than a regular course. So fun, easy, quick time. That's good, efficient! Bonus there is a lot of people here. Variations of people. Major eye candy. We booked online for a 7pm court but got there and supposedly the computers were being weird idk, but luckily we were able to get a court still. You go into the Pro Shop, btw. It's $40 for an hour of play. If you're playing doubles that's an easy $10/pp. With Houston's limited courts *in the loop* it seems like that's the best ima get. Some parks are converting their tennis courts but Houston feels like it's behind. I digress, this was really fun. Great little sports action. Everyone around us was lovely and when the next group of people were ready to use the court we gathered our things and left them to it. Honor system I guess There's a restaurant also at East River. Very smart move on their part. Made for good post-game beers, didn't try any food. 4/5 just because there's still seems to be kinks in their booking system and it's not super clear where you're supposed to go check in once arriving etc. read more

We came here for a work happy hour and enjoyed their indoor bar space - they have a great patio as well, but the June weather was not super inviting. We ordered several shared apps for the table and lots of drinks; they have your typical bar items - beer, wine, cocktails, soda, frozens...something for everyone. The apps were good; we especially enjoyed the loaded nachos and buffalo wings. Can't wait to come back here in the Fall/winter to take advantage of their patio and amazing downtown view. Nestled in the heart of EaDo is this fun lil place. There's plenty of free parking. You walk up and to the left is the restaurant/bar and to the right is the pro shop. We came to check out the restaurant, ordered the nachos which is a new item on the menu. The nachos are deliscious, light crispy chips with melted cheese and chicken and brisket. We also ordered the blackened red snapper tacos, which were light and tasty. Food is really good but a lil pricey. Happy hour until 7pm included $3 beer of the day and $6 margaritas. A chill spot to come with a group, enjoy the view of Houston's downtown skyscrapers, hit the golf ball or play pickleball. Had our gym Christmas gathering here and enjoyed the service and atmosphere of East River 9. The lemon pepper wings were a little greasy but had a very good flavor and was fried to perfection. My only complaint is the infused old fashion drink. Which was an old fashion with the ball of ice infused with the Orange and walnut bitters. This is a neat par 3 executive 9 hole course with amazing views of the Houston skyline. They even have LED lights for nighttime play. There are no golf carts but it's an easy walk and they have pull carts. Hole distances range between 80 and 150 yards - great for working on your short game. There's a driving range, pickleball courts, indoor and outdoor dining, and live music on the weekends. I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 because compared to other Houston public traditional 18 hole courses, it's relatively expensive. Prices range from $36 to $48 for 9 holes; not 18. It's still worth a try, especially if you don't have time for a full round. It's also a fun place to come for just dinner and a view. read more

Not a fantastic or safe area to be honest; it's right by the dump of a river we call the bayou and half a mile from the wastewater plant and in an area that's heavily being gentrified with lots of road construction. Needless to say, it is a convenient and beginner friendly course, with a driving range adjacent to it. Prices range from $30-50 depending on time of day. read more

Just took my Family to brunch here. Definitely can say it's not worth the $45/person price tag. It was advertised as a brunch buffet with seafood and waffle stations. The seafood station only had two types of shrimp, no crab as advertised or other staples like oyster, ceviche....I could go on. The waffle station was one guy making plain waffles. The only topping offered was cheap corn syrup. No other topping in sight until we asked multiple times. What bugged us the most was the poor hygiene of the buffet. None the shrimp was iced properly (just tossed a few cubes when it would melt down from being next to the burners), and when they did finally bring out some strawberries they put them in a crowded section next the the heated omelette skillets and uncooled shrimp. I could also tell that the omelette chefs where using the same skillets to cook the eggs and shrimp. Last but not least we picked up multiple dirty plates from the start. Over all this place is good to hit a few balls of catch a 9-hole game with a bucket of beer. But definitely I would skip this brunch, better off spending your money at Hugo's, or honestly Golden Corral. At least you would have better options for 1/4 of the price. read more

Today bitter experience because I actually had a good time with my friends. And I'm usually not one to leave reviews but after reading on here this seems to be a reoccurring thing, I feel obligated because nothing is changed in 3months to up the security. After my round of golf, I came back to my truck to find my truck broken into with thousands of dollars worth of stuff stolen. In the middle of the day around noon. The lot wasn't even half full. And between 2-3 security guards no one seen a thing while the theif busted my window, climbed in my truck, search through everything and had time to climb out and leave. I don't doubt for a sec this was an inside job. Golfers don't come to play and rob people. Someone watched me put my bag in the back seat. And they knew there are no security cameras anywhere. Minutes later my iPad was turned on a mile away from the course. Notified by the find my device app. Pissed is putting it nicely. We were really looking forward to night golfing here. But no way this place can be trusted at night if they can't maintain a safe place in the middle of the day. read more

I want to start off by saying I love this place, I really do but my recent experience has me leaving this review. I went to the bar after hitting a few balls at the range. The bartender was a young man who asked me for my first and last name while opening my tab. I thought it was strange but I gave it anyway. I noticed a few seats down from me were a few white people who left a tab open but he didn't ask for anyone's name. A few seats down from me were 2 black women and I noticed she was getting aggravated with the bartender for the same thing he did to me. I'm being long winded to say that it felt very racially motivated. I don't like to play the race card unless extremely necessary and this was a necessary occurrence. I also had a friend that worked there about 2 years ago and told me she had some racist experiences as well. It's unfortunate, but I won't be back. Can't patronize a place that doesn't want me there. read more

Now I wanted to give it another shot, called to make sure tre times are available, lady on phone said yes, raced up there in 30 mins and they say they completely booked. Great concept with a great atmosphere. My only complaint is that they're dog friendly but didn't offer heaters on the patio for dinning in the colder months. According to staff they were broken. Sadly, I did not try the food here due to it being too cold to dine outside and me having to leave because I had my dog with me. If they could have more accommodations during the colder months then they would have gotten 5 stars. read more

A few of us from our spin class decided to have an "out of class" field trip Saturday and selected East River 9 (our spin instructor is familiar with the business). Another classmate and I visited with the venue ahead of time, told them we'd have about 15 mostly for socializing (i.e. drinking...haha). We dawdled and didn't get a pickleball court, but will next time. Everyone had a great time. Just terrific. Our server, Lauren, made sure everyone got what they needed. The weather cooperated (though we stayed inside) and the view of downtown Houston was fantastic. We'll definitely be back in some form or another. What a unique and fun venue! read more
