I was invited by a friend to check out the Puttery and I was very pleasantly surprised! This summer has been brutally hot and I could not imagine playing putt putt golf outdoors, and I'm happy to know that the Puttery is a place where you can escape the heat and enjoy some great food and drinks. The building is quite large and parking is a little tricky. I drove through the main parking lot and exited behind the building to find a large paid parking lot that the Puttery will validate for you. The decor is classy and thoughtful and the employee at the register was friendly and informative. My party decided to eat dinner before golfing and the waitress was upbeat and seated us promptly. The food and drinks were quite delicious! The spicy tuna crispy rice had nicely seasoned tuna and paired perfectly with the crispy rice. The rice itself was a tad too sweet for my liking. The brisket jalapeño spring rolls were different and I enjoyed the combination of brisket and the smooth cream cheese. The elote style corn ribs were nicely presented and I've never had corn ribs elote style before. The pizza was pretty good but I wish the toppings were more plentiful. The short rib was tender and flavorful and I liked the pairing with the peppery arugula. The courses were super thoughtfully planned out and I appreciated the different themes in each section. Awesome experience at Puttery! It was my first time, and I randomly went with my wife and a friend on a Tuesday evening with a 6:15 pm reservation. Due to traffic we ended up arriving closer to 6:30 pm but it was no problem. Because it was a Tuesday, the crowds were light. I bet it can get crowded on the weekends because it's such a cool place. We got our wrist bands and proceeded upstairs where there is a lot of restaurant seating and a bar. We decided to eat before playing and that ended up being a great decision. The food and drink were quite good! I had a Sam Adams IPA draft - perfect! The elote corn ribs, spring rolls, tuna with crispy rice, and short rib pizza were all excellent! The waitress recommended the elote corn and short rib pizza so we went with those plus a few other options. Temperature and texture and flavor of all the food items were on point. Now on to mini golf. The place has two sets of 9 hole areas. The holes get progressively harder. You keep score via an iPad at each hole. Overall, the most impressive part was the decor. It's obvious they spent a lot of money on the decor (and the place is just huge) and they've maintained the place quite well so far. Now you're probably thinking "fun place off Washington? I bet parking sucks." There is actually a huge parking just north of the Puttery building and the parking is validated by Puttery! I am extremely disappointed with my experience with Puttery. We had reservations for 6:45 PM and had been looking forward to our visit all week. However, at 4:54 PM on the same day, I received a call from Alex informing me that our reservation had been canceled because someone had just booked the entire venue. We were simply told that we would need to reschedule or refund. Canceling confirmed reservations just hours before our scheduled time is unacceptable. It sends the message that if a larger-paying customer comes along, existing customers can simply be pushed aside. Unfortunately, it made us feel like Puttery values money and VIP status over honoring commitments to everyday working people who also spend their hard-earned money. We planned our evening around this reservation, and the last-minute cancellation was incredibly frustrating and disappointing. I understand that private events happen, but businesses should honor existing reservations or have policies in place that don't leave customers scrambling at the last minute. This experience has left a very negative impression, and I hope Puttery reevaluates how it treats customers whose reservations are already confirmed. read more

Very hospitable on check in! Heads up- no outside food or bev allowed, had to put my water bottle back in the car but they were good about filling water requests. Got the dine and play combo- worth it for the prices of each individually. Probably wouldn't go again for food, but experience is a one and done kind of deal! The good: -Great spot for corporate or group events, dates -Loved the courses and tech on the top, the ski and library themes course -got the miso salmon entree, salmon was great! -had mocktail options, pretty good The not so good: -the course on the first floor was not as well maintained, tech was broken -for my entree, the ginger rice was a bit undercooked and the green beans had a couple stems tossed in to it. I had a great time Mini golfing here! They have three courses here with various levels of difficulty. The conservatory is fairly easy and the ski trip one is relatively tough. The library was very cute and peaceful. We got the eat and play combo which allows unlimited play time and a free meal. I really enjoyed the theming of the courses. They were really detailed, cute and well designed. In the later evening the bars open and employees will come around to check on you and take drink orders. They use little tv screens to record the score, but we found that library and ski trip ones weren't working, so we used a small paper score card instead. The meal was good! Service can be a bit slow. But the food was quite excellent!! I recommend coming in the early afternoon, it was basically abandoned. We had the whole place to ourselves! read more

Fun team building experience. Went for an event work event. Signage in the lobby and the hostess directed our group to where light bites were set up. Climbed the stairs to the private space reserved for our Women in Medicine party. The high tops and cozy couches were great. The food was also very good. Chicken sliders, chips with guacamole, veggie spring rolls and veggies pizza. Nice touch to bring to go boxes for lunch the next day as there still was quite a bit of food out as we finished the networking event. I had a sparking water with lemonade for my non-alcoholic beverage. The Lodge mini golf course was so cute. Got a few 2s, but some of the holes were impossible for our group of four. Still fun as were fumbled our way through the course. Team building for sure. Loved the Halloween creepy decorations that were still out. The bar was quite decked out for the holidays, but will come down in a day or two as it was already November when we had our event. Free parking was available in the lot across the street. Sort of a challenge to find the entry, but this also created a second layer of team building as I directed my lost colleagues how to enter. We popped into their seasonal Holly Jolly pop up tonight. Important to note: - RSVP is required, and is 90 minutes - but wasn't enforced - $22pp - Parking in the area is terrible so plan ahead for parking issues or car share Our RSVP was 6pm. Plenty of table top and bar seating was available - at this time.Decor was over the top as you would expect for this seasonal event, with plenty of photo ops! They have a select menu for the holly jolly party, but their entire menu is available. We had the Jolly Pear 75 - highly recommend. I would caution against the Toasted Marshmallow - unless you like knowing the waitstaff actually blows on your food. I watched one specific server light the marshmallows - for the toasted effect - then blow multiple times on the marshmallows - to put the flame out. The party next to us witnessed the same thing. I've visited The Pottery before, but this time I came for their Holly Jolly Holiday Pop-Up Bar, and wow... it blew me away. My friends and I went right before Thanksgiving, and the moment you walk onto the first floor, you're fully transported into Christmas. The space is decked out--ornaments everywhere, twinkling lights, Christmas trees in every corner, and holiday music from every decade. It feels magical. And the themed food? Surprisingly delicious. My boyfriend and I arrived first and grabbed drinks while we waited. He ordered the Sugar & Spice Old-Fashioned, and I tried the Toasted Marshmallow. Mine tasted like a cozy cup of boozy hot chocolate--warm, sweet, and perfect for the season. Our deal included two free drinks, so those were on the house. Later, I ordered the North Pole Mule, which was a refreshing cold drink and honestly one of my favorites of the night. Once our friends arrived, we dove into food. We shared the Christmas Charcuterie Board--the cranberry jam on it was such a standout. I ordered the Cranberry Bacon Jam Sliders, which had good flavor but could've used a little more sauce to tie it all together. But the star of the night? The Smokehouse Mac & Cheese. We loved it--like, loved loved loved it. Our server, Denise, was amazing--super friendly, attentive, and always available to answer our questions or make recommendations. My work place booked a ln event here. They called in advance asking if there were gluten free options and they said yes. Today when we got there we had a server (female, African American , black curly hair) offer wings and fries as a GF option. I said just fries because didn't like the bone wings, she said we have boneless wings, to which I asked "are they Gluten Free?" And she said yes. I specified being Celiac (a severe intolerance to Gluten) She delivered the wings and they look like "normal wings" to me so I asked her "are you sure they are gluten free?" She said yes, I kept staring at them and asked a second time to her "are they for real gluten free?" and she said yes I asked the chef. I grabbed a carrot from the plate. I kept staring at it and I was not convinced, therefore I called her a third time and then she said "yes, let me ask the chef". She came back saying oh no they are not GF, only the bone ones are. 1. I ate food from the plate with wings not GF. I will get sick later today and there is nothing I can do to prevent it 2. THE AUDACITY of saying yes its gluten free so many times without being sure. NO respect for the customers medical condition. Especially because she could have said "not sure let me check" but risking my health and speaking so confidently without knowing? It's NOT ok 3. Chef came out and explained "oh no only the normal ones are GF not the boneless, they are fried" I was like "I know that is why I asked the server so many times" he just said "I am sorry but I can give you the other ones" to which I said "no thank you" 4. Heads up: this is mainly a review for Frankenstein's mad scientist cocktail lab (that's hosted inside of Puttery) I went with my friends the weekend after Halloween which was also the last day that Puttery was offering the Frankenstein cocktail lab experience. Unfortunately, I can't say I'd recommend it. We had reservations for roughly about a month in advance and when we arrived, we were told that they ran out of activated charcoal (which was the main feature of some drinks) and no dry ice which is also part of the experience. That being said, I decided to get the 'It's Alive' drink which was recommended by the server when I asked for the sweetest cocktail. The drink was topped off with club soda upon request and it was a nice beverage overall. Thankfully, they comped a round of drinks for my group due to the shortage so I ended up ordering the Divination which was also a good choice but I enjoyed 'It's Alive' better. Afterwards, my group was able to do a little bit of putt putt since it was running towards the end of the night and it wasn't too busy. Putt putt was fun and my group had a good time. Overall, the service was good and the Halloween decorations were on point but both the food and drinks were quite expensive and it wasn't anything special enough for my friends and I to visit again next year. read more

This place is awesome! We heard about it from a friend and decided to check it out on a Friday night. Some folks had reserved the first floor for a Halloween party but we were still able to get drinks on the second floor and check out all the courses. Parking was easy, we snagged some street parking across from the building. We walked in and purchased the all access wristbands to check out all the courses. We made our way upstairs and loved the vibe - great music, a lively bar with many places to sit and lounge if you're taking a break between courses. We grabbed a couple drinks - the Tranquilizer was our absolute fave! It was fruit-forward, creamy and delicious. We were able to carry our drinks along the course. We made our way through all 3 courses - they were all so fun! My favorite was the Ski-themed one - some of those stations were really tough but we had a blast trying them out. You can keep score by marking on the tablets by each station. After some intense rounds, J. was declared the winner but I was a close second! A few of the courses had stations where the tablet wasn't working, but they had paper and pencil available if you wanted to mark your score. For a Friday night, it was predictably pretty busy but we didn't have to wait too long between each station. This is an awesome mini golf spot, the best I've been to so far! I really like that you can play the courses multiple times and the variety of themes. Their drinks are also phenomenal! As I was writing this review I saw on their website that they offer a Happy Hour which I'm definitely going to try - after all, the Tranquilizer is an option on there. Upon arrival although the ambience was cool, the place was designed so cool, and it was very themed the service was really poor they constantly forgot to bring me my order when I had ordered and the quality of food was extremely poor and very cold. I would suggest for you to save your money and not try this experience and also to not trust the ads on social media for this place. Didn't try the food, but enjoyed the 3 mini golf courses--2 upstairs and one downstairs. Service was, poor--but ok at the bar itself--you must go to bar to order. Glasses were piled up everywhere along the courses no one bothered to pick up--like about 30-40 empty glasses/drinks, which is a bit much to just have lying around. Would've enjoyed this more if there wasn't children around (about 5-6 in front of us), but that's just me. I prefer adulting in adult places. I wanted to order the salmon miso, but it was my "off day" so I ordered pizza and lemon pepper wings instead and they were so flavorful. And comfortable seating. AVOID THIS PLACE. NIGHTMARE EXPERIENCE. The Puttery in Houston completely ruined my birthday celebration due to total disorganization and a hostile attitude toward its customers. I had friends visiting from out of town and invited both them and local friends to play mini golf, have drinks, and eat dinner at The Puttery on 12/6/25. I made a reservation online in advance and even arrived early that day to make sure everything was arranged before my guests showed up. The hostess told me there was also a corporate event that night, but assured me we would still be able to play and have dinner. We played a round of golf and had two rounds of drinks before heading to dinner. That's when everything fell apart. We were told there were no tables available because of the corporate event. I explained to management that I had paid for a reservation -- they charge for a "play and eat" package -- and that I had confirmed this earlier. Despite that, we were ejected with no apology and no attempt to offer another solution. At least one other table, a group of well-dressed customers from River Oaks, was treated the same way and also forced to leave. Fortunately, we were able to get a last-minute table at B&B Butchers & Restaurant, where the food was excellent and the staff treated us with respect. But this debacle cost me an extra $700 out of pocket because B&B is far more expensive than what I had planned for. This week, I called The Puttery's national number and was told the local manager would contact me. She never did. I have never been treated this way by a restaurant or entertainment venue. It was deeply humiliating in front of my visiting friends, and I was completely unprepared for such a costly backup plan. I wouldn't trust The Puttery with another reservation to save my life. On top of that, the drinks were overpriced and the course itself was underwhelming. I see a lot of positive reviews here, and I honestly don't get it. This wasn't just a bad night -- their attitude toward us was absolutely toxic. Avoid this sham at all costs. There are plenty of similar places to go. Great place for a date. I came with my girlfriend on a cloudy Friday afternoon. There was plenty of parking spaces at the lot across the street. It was $30 for the two of us for unlimited play across the three 9-hole courses. I'd say that's a great deal, especially if you like to take your time or also plan to drink/dine as well. I'd say I'm around average at mini-golf. My girlfriend has supposedly played before. Though I'm honestly a bit doubtful after seeing her play. I swear I saw her hold the club from the opposite end at first. Regardless, all three courses were fun in their own way with a unique theme - suitable for all levels! Library was probably my favorite. It was straightforward to play through. Conservatory was apparently the easiest one. Though there were some pretty hard holes. Lodge was easily the hardest. We stopped keeping score early on haha. Although these modern indoor mini-golf courses may not necessarily be the best for a traditional mini-golf experience, I think they offer their own fun twist. I enjoyed that there was a convenient screen to keep track of the score as you go through each course. They were easy to use. I'd imagine it especially comes in handy if you have a drink and have a lot on your hands. There were plenty of places to put your things down if you have a purse or food that you're carrying as well. Last thing I want to note is that the staff was nice. The gentleman at the bar upstairs was especially kind. We didn't get any drinks or food this time but it looks like there are many options that can suit everyone. read more

Puttery is a miniature golf course and bar located in the Heights. They have different locations around Houston with different courses at each location. There are 3 different mini golf courses with 8-9 holes on each course at this location. Each course has a different theme, and they are decorated well. The first course we went to was a Japanese-themed course with a bridge, koi fish, and cherry blossoms. The second course was library, dark academia themed with ghosts and spiders in time for Halloween. The third course was a ski and winter resort. There were three huge bars--2 on second floor and one on the bottom. Although the courses were decorated nicely, and I liked how each has their own individual theme, I do think the courses are very small. It's miniature golf alright. They put 80% more emphasis on the bars, as they are huge and take up more space than the courses to the point where there were more people waiting in line for the courses than the bars. I wished they had more courses or made them a bit bigger compared to the bars. The courses felt small, and there was not much space between each hole while we waited for the party in front of us to finish. Score are kept tracked on the machines. However, the machines on the library course had a technical difficulty, and our scores were manually tracked by paper. I was invited to a holiday showcase because I plan events for work. I got there early and the food was being put out. The event was from 4-7 and you could come and go. I was waiting on some friends to join but met a couple of nice ladies beforehand. I ate immediately, I enjoyed the chicken and the green beans. The sangria was good and they had a nice array of holiday cocktails. I am not a whiskey drinker but enjoyed the sangria. Of all the food choices, my least favorite was the salmon. It was dry. This was their holiday menu but my opinion is that the food is too heavy for a place like this. If people are playing golf, they want sliders, pizza, chips and dips, chicken fingers, etc. The holiday drink choices were good and festive. We met Chris and Emily was the bartender. This is a great option for entertainment near downtown that won't break the bank. It is very spacious inside with 3 stories, 3 9-hole courses, at least 3 bars available (only 1 open during my visit), and friendly staff. The holes range from basic to pretty challenging. There are even a couple of funny holes. Obviously this is a cool spot for friends, family, company gatherings, or a Xmas party gathering, as I visited during the holidays and saw that numerous companies had reserved spaces throughout to hold their party. The parking is kind of strange but available at least. There is limited street parking behind the building (1 block off Washington), otherwise you are likely going to park in the large parking lot 1 block north and walk back to the Puttery. I didn't try the food during my visit, but they do have a full kitchen at least if you get hungry while playing or just come hungry. The layout of the courses and building is sort of confusing. I recommend walking it all out first to get an idea of the layout before starting to play. There are 1-2 holes where the next hole is not quite obvious, but the good part is the screens at the next hole each time will light up your parties current score to sort of guide you. read more

We made friends with the in front and behind us as they was a small wait at each hole and you waited for the group ahead to finish. Really enjoyed this adult put put golfing experience. There's multiple rooms for golfing with various course challenges. It's a pretty efficient system to play on teams, coupled up, or solo. There were bars with ample seating at the top part of the venue indoors & outdoors. The food and drink choices are pretty diverse, with options for mocktails & non meat items. My friends & I had a really good time and the DJ was live. I would suggest getting the unlimited gaming. It's totally worth it. There is a big parking lot for FREE across from the entrance. I'm not sure I'd return as it could take forever to get through the courses, especially on a weekend. There were moments where we got backed up and there wasn't lots of space to wait. We ultimately didn't even go to the last set of obstacles in the library because it was taking so long and we just wanted to eat at that point. I would not recommend Puttery. The service here wasn't great, and we couldn't actually play mini-golf all night. Me and a few friends made a reservation for a Wednesday night (for someone's birthday). When we arrived, the hostess told us that due to several (~5) work events, the times we could use the putt-putt courses were limited. Also - almost every single table in the business was reserved for work events (I counted 5 tables that weren't reserved). We couldn't find a table big enough for our entire group. What's the point of making a reservation if you can't actually play or even sit anywhere?? For the 3 hours we were there, we were able to play once.... Almost every course was reserved for a work event when we'd go to check on it... Some employees were nice to use, but a few were rude/impatient when we'd ask questions. The decor was nice though! Had a date here a few months ago and decided to do this spot since I love golf and she loves drinks. I arrived before she did and found a timeslot near her time of arrival which is what I booked. While walk-ins are allowed, it's best to reserve ahead of time for this since they get packed according to the host stand. The bar and putting are on the second floor mainly. The bar area has some cool cocktails and a solid food choices; although we didn't get food, we saw the plates coming out and they looked tasty. As for drinks, I started with an ol' fashioned which was tasty. During our putting activity, I ordered a Collosus of New York cocktail; strong but what I needed after our round. There's also a balcony area outside on the second floor where you can get a view of the Heights neighborhood. So the putting courses consist of three different themes you can choose from. We went with the Library theme since it had this elegant European feel with the bookshelves and furniture exhibits. We found it quite fun with the course at each hole; especially since I won against her! Only issue I had was getting our drinks out properly. My Collosus of New York cocktail and my date's margarita took a long time to reach us. We ordered those around hole 2-3 and we didn't receive them until after we finished our 9-hole course. I couldn't find our server until after we finished and seemed like he had this 'aha' moment where he realized I ordered something. While we had fun aside from our round of drinks taking a while, I found the cost overall to outweigh the value you get. Drinks, while tasty, are a bit pricy and you're better off ordering them at the bar instead of during playing. Also $20 per person is excessive for only 9 holes in my opinion. I'm open to returning to try the food and experience the other courses although it's not something I'd go out of my way for. read more

Got here late on a Friday night, and I wish we were able to come earlier! There are two different courses (we only got to do one) and we were able to finish pretty quickly. We also got some drinks before playing. The drinks were super strong and they were quite large. It was pretty busy so it took a while before someone was able to help us set up our game, which was the only downside. The vibes here are great, and I love the interior! read more

A blend of technology and interactive themed games makes for an interesting night. The venue itself is quite a piece of art! If you are an influencer, I can see lots of opportunities for picture taking here. The miniature golf area itself is also fun, but very crowded and could take some wait to get to your turn. There are a total of nine different mini golf stations within the room, and everyone have to take turns to sequentially go through the same nine stations to accumulate scores. I can see this being a fun activity for date night, but likely not the best idea to do with large groups unless you find a way to reserve the whole space to yourself. The people who designed the area obviously appreciate good details. Each station comes with a drink holder and purse holder and there are plenty of seating spread around the room in case you'd like to sit while you wait your turn. There's also a bar that serves themed drinks made to order; all you have to do is order through a QR code. An attendant will be surveying the area and able to help take pics for you/your group as well. Overall, it was a fun experience. read more

Leaving a review for the Frankenstein Mad Scientist experience. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY. Everything was half assed. It was literally just a decorated bar. All of the staff was less than friendly and definitely not playing into "the experience". There was no fun lights, it wasn't dark, no fun Halloween music or sound effects. SERIOUSLY DISAPPOINTING. I've been here for the golfing but I definitely never will. read more
