For the price this is a great value. The best municipal course inside the Houston metropolitan area for the price. The people here are amazing and it is always a great time with great people.

Most affordable course in Houston. They have a driving range and a nice putting green. Nice course to play on. Very forgiving, I almost never lose a golf ball. Nice for groups and they have a burger place on premises, can't beat that!

Just paid $24 to play at 4:30pm October 4th, 2020. Due to the courses terrible golfers golf etiquette I was only able to get in 9 holes, playing as a single, in 2.5 hours. I was sitting behind a two-some with no one in front of them while they racked up as many hits as they could. At the turn the sun was gone. I go to the pro shop to see if I could receive a rain check for the back 9 I wasn't able to get in. I was greeted by an old balding guy named Chris stating, "No, if you played 9 you got your moneys worth", "it's the same for 18 as 9". Terrible customer service. The disrespect and lack of enthusiasm to help out was sub par. You have lost my business. -A fellow first responders who protects your territory.

I came here on a Sunday early afternoon in February and was partied with 3 other people. The starter was nice, and the course was in good shape. Wide open fairways and not too much water. It's reasonably priced.

Chop Chop Choppa style! If that song describes your golf game, then this might be the place for you. You don't have to be pro to come here, although I do see a lot of scratch golfers play here as well. It's a very decent course for the price. I have been coming here since the mid 90's and this course is has not been in better condition. I played a full 18 here last Friday and was pleasantly surprised by the excellent condition the course was in. The marshall's here are very friendly and they will try their best to maintain the rate of play, if there are a group of choppers holding everyone up. If you read my review of Melrose and feel that you are ready for the next level, then Sharpstown is the next level. We ordered beer at the cafeteria and they gave us a travel cooler with ice, which I thought was a nice touch. In the past they would just give you the beer in a black trashbag. We decided to get a snack before we played the back 9 and I must say, their chili hot dogs are really good. They use real chili, not the wolf hot dog chili. The hot dogs were thick and beefy as well. Definitely worth the $3 i paid, and chili was only $.25 more than a regular hot dog. No brainer there. Tip: If you get an entertainment coupon book, they have a coupon for buy 1 green fee, get one free. Those books can be had for as little as $5 mid-way through the year, so it will pay for iteself very quickly. If you have not been here in a while or you are a new golfer that wants to try a real course, then definitely give this place a try. And if you are new and a group is coming up fast on you, then let them play through.

Ahhhhhh...... A home for the truest hack and embarrassed golfer. I take pride in calling Sharpstown Golf Course "The Country Club" to the growls and sneers of my golfing friends. Only because at one point a long time ago this short Par 70 course was a private Country Club and hosted the PGA Tour stop, The Houston Open. "Awesome Courses Affordable Prices" The Sharpstown Golf Course was acquired by the City of Houston in 1981 and since then has been a great spot to play golf for many years. The course has had a lot of great things done in the last 3 years such as new golf carts in 2008 and a new golf cart garage in 2009. Let me be blunt with everyone i am terrible at golf i have no illusions. I have only been playing for 5 months now and know this game takes a day to learn and a lifetime to master. But to my demise i have fallen in love with the challenge it has brought to my life, that being said The PROS: It is less than 20 min away from my home in downtown. I can always get a tee time unless its peak hours by simply walking on. I rarely rarely lose balls on this course unless I completely mishit the ball (which i am capable of doing!) This course is close to where I work which is great. The course is short so during cool days it can be walked with no problem. When i use on-line coupons i never spend more than $22 for 18 holes of golf with cart included on the weekends. During twilight, weekday golf is $14 with cart and it is very very laid back. The CONS: Some of my more experienced golfing friends wont even play with me here because they feel its beneath them. The greens aren't very fast at all. You may get hit by a ball due to the fact that so many inexperienced golfers are playing here and there are a lot of mishits. Also golf balls are sometimes going into other fairways which can be lined up next to each other. The Snack bar is the void of any real food except bottled drinks and candy all other foods STAY AWAY. Overall I am particularly biased to this course because it was the first course i ever played a round of golf at but i think the value is here for anyone who is looking for a fun round of golf with a buddy and doesn't want to drop over $40 per person.

Not a clue what the hell that is.

Had a great time even though the weather dampened the experience a little as it was a very cold day ~45 degrees. It was fine if you were on the courts but once still the sitting area had coverings that blocked the warmth of the sun. After pickleball we decided to got eat inside to get away from the cold. Food wise, apps were small portions. Small basket of chips and smaller cup of guac and queso than most places but with a heftier price. Chicken sandwich was good, but spicy is not at all spicy and the sauces we asked for on the side to give more heat didn't give any. You definitely have to be one of those people who think black pepper is overly too spicy. Kettle chips came with a lot of people sides and they tasted burnt, one friend looked like he was served the bottom of a lay's bag as the other friend had fresh off the top. Presentation lacking. I got the corn in a cup and I'd have to say it was pretty delicious. Half way through our meal as we were sitting near the garage doors they decided to open them and bring all that 40 degree cold weather in, now we are sitting trying to eat trembling with our coats on because they said they had a singer about to perform. About to them means 45 minutes later when we are closing out our checks. I mean they could have waited till they were ready or people who wanted to hear could have went outside or even if you just cracked the garage door a little or bring some heaters without having to ask multiple times to get one. Manager was accommodating and honored the advertised promo originally booked. Corporate needs to proof read their website before posting it. The bay we were in was like built for a 3rd world country. Floors sticky, couches feel like they havent been deep cleaned since the place opened. When you wave your club for the ball to come out, it rolls around the base to the next bay. The last food order my group was waiting on didn't come untill our playtime was up. The Manager gave us free 15 minutes to basically stuff ourselves or pack it to go. We even specifically told them to pack it to go since we knew it was not going to be enough time to eat. We placed our order about 20 minutes prior. This probably the worst top golf I've been to in the nation, they really gotta get their act together. Security in the parking lot patroling, guess thats good to deter car break ins, but that also gives you a hint how the hood is.
