Raven Tower has a really interesting concept with great views and a solid bar setup. It's a nice spot to hang out and grab a bite, though it was surprisingly empty for a Saturday night. They host some nice events, which adds to the overall vibe. The only downside was the pricey parking, $25 feels a bit steep. Still, a cool place worth checking out. read more

I went for their Monday industry night, they were supposed to have $5 specials on rumpleminze, repo, and Jameson. I ordered 3 Repo drinks and got charge $58 dollars. I get it, bars got to make their money, but most I was expecting on three $5 drinks was to pay $25, $15 for drinks and another $5-10 with tips/tax. Only reason I'm giving them a 3 star rating and not a 1 star rating is because the DJ was fire. I too came here before a show at White Oak on a Saturday night so if you're not coming here during show times, this may not be a very useful review for you. Anyway, it's an open patio bar not unlike a lot of other places in Houston now days. The staff was courteous, the bathrooms were clean, and the prices and selection reasonable. They do have the tower but it was closed and honestly, if it wasn't for the show next door and the tower closed, I probably wouldn't come out of my way to come here but as long as you're waiting for a show or just want to hear a show without paying for it, this is your spot! read more

Went the other night and they no longer have any tap beer?! It was a ghost town too. I finally visited Raven Tower before the Young the Giant concert at WOMH yesterday. My friends suggested getting there early and eating dinner there at the food truck La Macro. I'm glad we did because the show was sold out and there were so many people in line two hours or so before the show started. I thought Raven would be crowded but it actually wasn't. They have a great craft beer selection as well as a cocktail menu. I was hoping to try one of the cucumber cocktails but it looks like they just changed their cocktail menu for the fall season. I opted for beer and had the 8th Wonder Intelluctuale (one of my faves). The patio is dog friendly. They have games and lots of picnic tables for plenty of seating. This is a great place to people watch. I had pork tacos from La Macro and they were really good. They have other menu items besides Tex-Mex. The menu is on the Raven Tower website. For a food truck, the prices are actually reasonable. They charge $2 for tacos. You could hear the opening band (Joywave). I didn't think we would be able to hear much because Raven sits behind the stage, but you could. They also had the music turned down so I think that helped. The tower is still being renovated, but it's apparently supposed to reopen this fall. I definitely want to check it out once it does open back up. Because of the concert, we weren't able to park in lot A between Raven and White Oak. Prices for lots were $15-25 which is pretty steep. Get there early for street parking on nights when there is a show out on the lawn. read more

The Raven Tower is a cool venue. It's located on the same street as White Oak music hall. The downside is it's not in the best area and it's not within walking distance of others bars and restaurants so if you're going to bar hop, you're going to have to Uber or drive. The tower itself is currently being renovated so I can't comment on that. It does look pretty awesome from the outside, though. There's an indoor bar area as well as a spacious patio with picnic tables. It was chilly out when we were there, but they had several heaters out there. They also had a food truck, La Macro, on the patio. The Mexican food truck had tacos, quesadillas, burgers, etc. The Raven Tower had 10 or so craft cocktails. A lot of the cocktails either use Red Bull or lavender. I tried three off the list. Their version of a Long Island Ice Tea which is your typical Long Island plus Red Bull. A ginger mint mojito that uses Kracken rum. And the Blueberry Yum Yum, respect for the Ludacris shout out. All of the cocktails were solid! read more

Went with a small group of friends yesterday. Had been hearing about this place for a couple weeks now. Definitely was a very unique and different vibe for Houston night-life. It has a lot of potential to be something more with some minor adjustments to their bar service and music upstairs to match the vibe on the ground floor. On September 29th 2022 at around 9:20pm I walked into the "Raven Tower" bar,I walked towards the water cooler to pour my self some water in a cup. As I approached the bar the bartender a blonde white female was looking at me in disdain. She made some odd facial expressions to which I asked "why the expressions?" She then proceeded to ask me "WHAT ARE YOU SUPPOSE TO BE??!" I was taking back by such a rude question. I was wearing a sports coat sunglasses and a fedora, I'm not sure what she meant by that as I can not speak for her. All I can say on my end is it was very rude, condesending and quite frankly as a local Hispanic born and raised in North Central Houston,I was offended at such behavior. I felt insulted by her actions and will consult with my lawyer as to what I should do. I suggest proper training on customer service with the people who represent your business. Super beautiful, partially covered patio with cute lights, games, murals, and swings. Indoor and outdoor seating with large drink selection. Awesome list of house drinks made strong. Their mango coconut margarita is HEAVENLY. They have quite a list of unique margaritas and really decent prices. Large beer selection too. Went there last night for their soft opening. We took our time getting there and that was a mistake! For a Tuesday night it was crazy packed! But the views were worth the wait. I am a native Houstonian and have passed by this Place off 45 for decades wondering what it was, why it was there, well let me give you some history. This actually was a bachelor pad built by a guy who owned and worked at a business near by. It was built in the 60's and has been abandoned for decades until the Pegstar group turned it in it a bar. Some of the best night views of Houston are here. Just amazing. There is a small bar in the very top of the tower, on the glass enclosed level there is sound proof Windows, retro seating and small bathrooms. No frills just very retro. It's about a 4 story climb and the elevator does not work yet. We were told it is structurally sound, but they were only allowed 50 people up there at a time. There was a line to get up but we only waited 15 minutes. So worth it. On the ground level there is a very nice cool bar between the tower and White Oak Bayou. Many TVs and plenty of beer on tap on in a bottle. Beer was not cheap $6.00 a bottle for a Bud light. Did see liquor but No wine. There were a few food trucks there and I think it will rotate what trucks be there at any time. There is limited parking we parked blocks away. It's not the best neighborhood, think Heights back in the 80s. With this addition it's going to be an up and coming neighborhood. My advise is Uber over there to avoid the parking and traffic. Over all great experience go for the views on a clear day and enjoy our beautiful city! read more

Don't know how this place has anything less than 5 stars. In my opinion, this is one of the coolest spots in Houston and making the city truly unique. Apparently this was an old car lot and the owner built the tower so he could keep an eye on everything. Soon to be next door neighbors with White Oak Music Hall and you'll be able to hear the lawn concerts over there from Raven's patio and rooftop. Make sure to climb up the many flights of stairs to the retro bar/lounge with wrap around windows and killer views, then climb up even further to the rooftop! The roof is sort of scary and feels un-level, but I've been assured it's safe... This bar is unlike anywhere and I can't wait to come back and check out some music. P.S. There's also a ridiculously amazing taco food truck parked near the entrance. Pork tacos w/ grilled pineapple & onions were life changing. read more

what can i say amazing location with a mind blowing view from the roof, big parking lot, big patio with several screens and a decent amount of tables. They also had games such as horse shoes, and Cornhole along with an outdoor stage. the possibilities of having 2 or more food trucks on location is also a big thumbs up. The waitresses for the back patio also hustle out there to get drinks out to the tables. they did have a good variety of beer on tap in the back bar and i kind of wish the front part of the building where the main stage had the same amenities. but overall the the bar/music venue was top notch and i do see my self going there a few more times in the future. read more

I came here for an event and there was so little interest in it, it basically got cancelled but we didn't find that out until maybe an hour later. They put together a special themed cocktail menu, but maybe because the event wasn't advertised that well..nobody really knew about it. On my visit, they had a band playing fairly early and only the back patio and inside bar area was open. The tower, which was part of my reason for coming, was closed. It seems the city may have shut it down until they install a fire escape. Not sure when that will ever happen. The front covered patio is more seating space with a stage for a 2nd band, but it was closed on my visit. La Macro taco truck is a regular and is parked in the parking lot at this venue. read more

We came here on Friday when the sun came out just in time for HH. Hit the patio and grabbed some beers. It was a nice chill spot to enjoy the afternoon. We didn't get a chance to go all the way up to the top so I will have to go back to see what everyone is talking about. It's kind of cool that it's on the bayou. I look forward to going back more this spring. Just fyi, the actual parking lot is really small so you will most likely have to park on the street. This place is super cool. I came here on a friend's recommendation and I'm so glad I came! They have a great area for outdoor seating and it backs up on the bayou. 100% love this place! I've now had casual drinks more than a handful of times AND held a weekday event of a modest size here as well. CASUAL: Wide selection of drinks, knowledgeable bartenders, courteous staff, clean facilities, spacious patio, etc Bonus points for the TVs not being intrusive and music being so loud I can't hear the people next to me. If my friends wish to keep up with the Sportsball and socialize, they can :) FOOD: La Macro seems to be the resident food truck, they have some darn good food, and they have options for those with dietary restrictions (vegan and gluten free). I wouldn't mind seeing elote (corn) on the permanent menu ;) EVENT: Communication before, during, and after flowed well. I felt like it was easy to talk to everyone. In fact, a staffer alerted me to a random online comment, outside of our official promotions, that misrepresent what to expect. (Thanks! Very helpful!) After initial discussion I communicated my exact expectations and hopes, everything was above and beyond. I arrived early to cross my t's and dot my i's. To make sure I introduced myself to the bar staff, and had time to answer any questions etc. all of that was more or less unnecessary, except needing to put up signs. Came for the patio, stayed for the cheap drinks. A wonderful place to hang out outside and share a drink with friends! The dog-friendly patio is sprawling with multiple seating options and got a nice breeze. Yes, it's technically overlooking I-45 but I was not bothered by the noise. The only con about location is that it's nowhere near anywhere except White Oak Music Hall. The drinks were delicious. I sampled a watermelon margarita on special for 6$ and two of the 3$ craft beer drafts which happened to be a scrumptious Stone Double IPA that night. 3 drinks for 12$ is a steal! Raven Tower had me at Free Yoga on the first Sunday of the month. The class was facilitated by an instructor from Black Swan Yoga studio and she was perfect. The great exchange of energy coupled with the romantic view of Downtown made for the perfect start to my week. If you're looking for a new view of the city, definitely check out Raven Tower. I totally LOVED this place. A cute gem tucked away in the Near Northside it is. Fortunately, we could take the red line to this area of town. Parking is a bit tricky and you PAY. I am not a fan of that. HOWEVER--once inside, it is a nice get away from the city. I loved that it is a dog friendly place. Nice and clean. Love the patio furniture outside and there is PLENTY of room. We stopped in because we were going to a concert and I had to PEE. You know--the kind that cannot wait especially when the doors to the concert were delayed an hour. YIKES! My hubby drank a few beers and I had water. I was a little hungry. Bada-boom Bada-bing...a taco truck was in the parking lot. WINNER. We were hoping that the Raven Tower served food but since it did not and there was a taco truck--heck yeah! The music played was spot on my kind of thing. My inner DJ (Shelia Shine) was totally grooving. Great place to meet up with a group or just casually go in and hang out. I came here for an event where the Tower was temporarily open for an astronomy event. There were too many people that attended and I wasn't allowed to go up, so beware of coming here for free advertised events. Also, apparently there is a $10 minimum on credit cards at the bar, and I wasn't aware of this so the bartender charged me $10 for one drink so I'd make the credit card minimum requirements. He didn't give me an itemized receipt either as an attempt to fool me. What kind of establishment does that? I paid and left because it was extremely packed and busy. Never again. read more

We went on critical mass night so it was pretty packed. Regardless we had a good time. Atmosphere was real chill. Huge open patio. Big (free) parking lot across the street. Taco truck place had bomb tacos. We went for seconds. Staff was really friendly. With the exception of one bartender. My friend ordered a drink he's gotten there before. He tasted it and immediately hated it and said it didn't taste right. I had a sip and it honestly tasted like gasoline. He tried to go to the bar to the same bartender to exchange it and she kept giving him shit about trying to switch the drink. She kept drinking it over and over. She drank more than him! He literally took one sip and the glass was full. We had a party of 4 and we were buying drinks all night, tipped well, but she wanted to argue about one drink? I was even going to tip her again for the new drink! She finally admitted to using a different liquor than what was on the menu (lol) and made him another one begrudgingly. I won't let that stop me from going again. I'll just give my money to a different bartender lol. read more

I manage events and thought that Raven Tower would be the perfect place for a motorcycle "Bike Night." Great parking lot, a pavilion for a band, just down the street from the dealership hosting the event, etc. The General Manager and I scoped out the place as soon as it opened and had a great experience with our server, Catherine. We talked to her about the venue and she told us that we wouldn't want to do anything on the back patio because getting a microphone and PA system out there for performers was a pain. She sold us on using the Pavilion instead. We gave her our cards and were assured she would mention it to the owners. We followed up by hosting a Fun Run to introduce our customers to the venue. There was some miscommunication with Gina right away. We were expecting 40-50 bikes and wanted to do a dry run for how the regular crowd mixed with our customers. Gina wasn't exactly enthusiastic about our visit in emails and considering they didn't do any promotion on their end to thank us for making them the focal point and ending place of our ride, put a negative spin on the place. But still - perfect venue, right? One of the owners, Travis, called me to assure us it was just a miscommunication. We showed up and were thrilled to see they had blocked off the parking lot for us. We had 60 people show up on an already busy day. Our previous server, Catherine, wasn't assigned to our group and in fact didn't seem to recognize us at all. Okay, I get it, busy place... you can't possibly remember everyone you meet but c'mon. None of this is ringing a bell? Bikers, event, nothing? Fine. Gina wasn't there either. In fact, no one approached us from the management team. We all bought drinks and yet no one came over to thank us for bringing in new customers. It was almost as if we were an inconvenience - like when a large group shows up without a reservation. They were doing crawfish that day and had done a great job of promoting that on social media, but no mention of us. They didn't even put the posters we provided up to help promote the event. So, they're ungrateful. But perfect venue, right?! I contacted Gina six weeks prior to the Bike Night event and made it very clear (in a bulleted list and everything) what we would need from the venue. At that time, we were under the assumption that because we needed a PA and a microphone that we would be in the pavilion. Again, we made it very clear that was a requirement to host this event. Imagine my surprise when I heard nothing back from Gina to discuss the details any further. Her last email said she would talk the details over with another one of the owners, Will. Tick tock. Nothing. I notice they started doing Whiskey Wednesdays. Our event was going to be on a Wednesday. Great! A built-in drink special. I was never contacted by Gina that there would be bands in the pavilion in conjunction with those Whiskey Wednesdays. Plain and simple. We were never actually put on their calendar. We were bringing 150-250 people out to their venue and paying the entertainers ourselves and yet no one at The Raven Tower remembered that we had already requested a date with them. I reached out three weeks prior to the event with the event flyer that we paid to produce and Gina responded that we would be on the hook for the production cost involved in putting a PA system out on the back patio and that if we didn't want a band playing on the same night that we'd have to reschedule our event date. You know what? It's totally my fault that I'm now having to find another venue because the signs were all there that this place never wanted our business. tldr; This venue gives you no social media support to promote your event, no customer care during the event, and I can't even get an owner to call me to apologize for the mix up on this. read more
