We;ve been going to Purr Inn for 10 years. Due to a mistunderstanding with the deposit the owner cancelled our boarding the day before dropoff, via email. We didn't even see it until hours before we were supposed to drop her off. When my husband called to sort it out she claimed she was fully booked and hung up on him. Thankfully we found Purrfect Cat Boarding the same day. No mountains of paperwork and rules you'll be punished for deviating from. And no mailing checks like we're not living in the 21st Century! I sent the email below to her and never received a response. TLDR: She will cancel on you at the last minute if you deviate from her rules, leaving you potentially out hundreds of dollars or scrambling for last minute boarding elsewhere which isn't exactly great for your cat. Hi Carolyn, I am writing to say how deeply disappointed I am. My husband and I have been taking our cat to you for probably close to a decade. We have never once been late with a deposit (except when a cheque got lost in the mail Xmas 2020 when there were known USPS issues) and we sorted that out right away. I admit that there might have been some confusion. In your previous bookings you have specifically specified the amount due at drop off. Twice in your emails this time, the amount you stated specifically mentioned the total amount and stated due at drop off. My husband and I have been dealing with a family emergency so we thought we were all right paying the full amount at drop off since you hadn't indicated otherwise. For some reason, that i can't fathom, this entire booking has felt adversarial. When we asked if we could drop off sooner because you specifically describe your hours as "preferred", we were met with a one word email reply "NO." Your previous email regarding medication implied that we somehow lied about her taking pill pockets. Now, when my husband calls you to try and sort out this mess- of which I was only aware of because I was checking my email to make sure I had the correct amount for the cheque to give to you later today) you tell him that you have no more space and hang up on him. I'm sorry, but what exactly did we do to deserve this type of treatment, besides being a loyal customer for nearly ten years? You have left us completely high and dry, scrambling to find boarding for our 18-year old cat, on a Sunday, which I am sure you are well aware of. How exactly is this good for her welfare? I am deeply troubled by this behaviour and it goes without saying that we won't be using or recommending you again. read more

My parting words to the owner were "I can't wait to recommend you". So here it is, I highly recommend PurrInn Cats Hostelry! Beyond the immaculately clean space and "condos", the owner is so respectful of the cats themselves. She is very calm and reassuring and organized. The rates are inline with other boarding facilities in the greater Bothell/Woodinville area. The website is FULL of current, useful information. I previously left Kitty at another facility and she used to come back so stressed out and unhappy and usually either caught a cold or came home with one (maybe due to the stress?). At PurrInn they respected that Kitty didn't really like other cats and did what they could to minimize Kitty's stress. Every cat gets some play time every day and Kitty didn't come home starved for attention!! I really felt like Kitty was cared for and loved just as well as she is at home and will not hesitate to board her with PurrInn the next time. read more

Tavi (the best cat ever!) has been enjoying his holiday stays at Purr Inn since 2012. He has 2 or 3 holidays with Carolyn every year and it's obvious he loves her and is comfortable with his surroundings. When we arrive and open the carrier, he strolls out, gives her a couple head bonks, uses the scratching post and leisurely finds his way to his open condo. She is experienced with cat behavior and provides individualized care to each feline in her care. My priority will always be the safety and contentment of my cat in a boarding situation. After 7 years, Purr Inn is the only option I consider. Your cat will be quite happy here! read more

This business does not take credit cards, only certified checks and cash. A long winded explanation of how Google Maps can not find their location down a private road will ensure at least a ten minute phone dialog; and finally, if you change your plans the owner will not accept your cat but keep the deposit money. This is a nice, clean, quiet home with a small number of cats. However, two caveats: first, do not deviate from your pickup times by very much or you may be scolded, and secondly, if they decide that your cat is too much trouble or no longer welcome, insist ahead of time that you be told at that time, preferably in person, so you can have plenty of time to make other arrangements. read more

What a find! This cat boarding facility is a nice change from the overly-sterile, impersonal kennels that are the norm. We boarded our cat here for 10 days and can't recommend it enough. It's impeccably clean, professionally run, and the cats get some personal interactions with the owners. Our cat returned happy and healthy. I was very impressed with the care and interest that the owner had for our cat-- she clearly cares deeply for her charges. read more

If you're looking for a place for your feline loved one to stay while you're on vacation, look no further. This is by far the cleanest, friendliest and most professional boarding option you will find. We couldn't be happier with our decision to have our kitten stay at the Purrinn and have even reserved our spot for our next vacation. We found the owner to be accommodating to our cat's needs, as well as ours. There was absolutely no negative part of our experience and our picky kitten loved her stay at the Purrinn. It's abundantly clear that the owner loves what she does and deeply cares for the guests she takes in. If we could give the Purrinn 10 stars our of 5, we would!!! read more

We left out cats here every time we left town, we since moved out of state but we have had a hard time replacing PurrInn Cats Hostelry. I love that it's at a house, not some pet store, or vet, where your cat can get taken care of by whatever new person they hired off the street. The owner takes care of all the cats personally. Our two cats are always frightened of new people so it's great to take them to the same person consistently. They have their favorite condo and settle right in when we bring them over. The owner is really knowledgeable and obviously loves it. The place is super clean. She takes care of all the cats personally, they all get playtime and personalized attention. read more

Really glad to have found this place. We were nervous about boarding our cat since she can be a handful sometimes (tortitude!) She was very happy and had a great stay thanks to Carolyn's knowhow. If you're super protective of your kitties THIS is the kind of person you want looking after them. Really clean without seeming cold or clinical, rates are very reasonable and love that the condos are plexiglass rather than the cages we've seen other places. Will definitely be bringing the little lady back next time we're going out of town. read more

I cannot say enough great things about this place! This was our first time boarding our cat so we were a bit nervous about it. I found PurrInn and after talking with Carolyn, I knew our Perry would be in great hands! This place is so clean and welcoming! The set up is impressive for all the cats and how they get to hang out in their own space and have play time. While we were on vacation we called once to check up on Perry and just talking with Carolyn reassured us that we had made the right choice! If you need a place for you cat to vacation while you are on vacation, I cannot recommend this place enough!! read more

If you are looking for someone who is really good for your cat, this is your place. If you are looking for someone who is good with the people, look somewhere else. I can no longer recommend Carolyn. I used here once for a vacation sitting and my cat was expertly taken care of. The second time I tried to use PurrInn, I got stuffed on the day I was to leave town. The situation was, I called 4 or 5 days in advanced for availability and I gave an approximation of my drop-off time but I left the caveat that I was flexible. I realize she runs this business from her home and is not always available, fine that's great. Carolyn waited until the day before I was to leave to send an email at 8 pm to confirm the drop-off time. At 9 am the following morning I get a call from her saying that I cannot leave my cat with her because she will not work with pet owners who are "Not on the Ball". I'm sorry I'm not glued to my email and that was pretty harsh to expect I would see that email within 12 hours most of it overnight. I was left scrambling to find someone else on the day I was to leave for two weeks. read more

My wife and I have boarded our cat Coco at the Purrinn Cats Hostelry on many occasions over the past few years. We are extremely pleased with the care that our cat has received. Coco always seems pleased too. He gets lots of personal attention from the owner and really enjoys his play time. All the other cats we've seen there seem to be just as relaxed and happy. This facility is very clean and well equipped. On a couple occasions we've had to cancel a reservation or shorted our trip and with proper notice we've always been credited with a refund. If you want the best of care in a very clean enviornment then you will not be disappointed if you board your pet at the Purrinn. Doug D. read more
