We had a great experience with the lovely staff at Roscoe's Ranch these past couple of weeks. My partner and I flew to HI to visit family for a week and a half. We did a site tour ahead of time and got to view the indoor and outdoor facilities. They provide clear instructions for getting to the ranch. I loved the ample space but a part of me was a bit nervous leaving our dog there (reminded me of the movie Homeward Bound lol). Fortunately, the staff were very communicative before and during our dog's stay. They made sure we turned in all of the required health information and sent regular "pupdates" (updates) through email with photos. They were always really friendly and welcoming to us and our pup. When we picked our dog up, they gave us an envelope with a receipt and the papers that they kept very detailed records on. Their staff does a visual check of your pet each day, notes if they had any digestive issues, etc. I would highly recommend checking Roscoe's Ranch out! read more

We love Roscoe's Ranch and won't take our dogs anywhere else. We've been customers for years and schedule our vacation dates around kennel availability. Last year one of our dogs had a medical emergency and Roscoe's staff handled it exactly as we wanted. We live 37 miles away from Roscoe's Ranch and there are many kennels that are closer to our house. That being said, we will continue to make the commute to Roscoe's because knowing our dogs are safe and happy while we are gone is worth the drive. read more

You will not find a better place to board your pup. I have an older rescue who can be very reactive, does not get along with unknown dogs and does not care for most people, so finding the right spot for him is incredibly tough. Roscoe's is great at just meeting dogs where they're at and letting them be themselves. Dogs are matched accordingly with other dogs for playtimes or allowed to just be by themselves which my dog honestly loves. I know he was more than happy to just wander around the large fenced in places and sniff. The trek to drive out here from Seattle was well worth it every time and the pricing is excellent. The space is always clean. Everyone who works here is kind and friendly. My dog had not allowed a man to pet him in over 10 years - but one of the guys who works here said Rusty was his favorite when I picked him up once and had no problems with him. Emails are always responded to promptly when your dog is boarding or you're just coordinating future stays. They stay on top of health requirements which I appreciate. I cannot say enough good things about this place and the folks who work here. The only tough part about Roscoe's is they book up very quickly so plan well in advance, especially for summer and the holidays. read more

Our senior dog stayed at Roscoe's Ranch while we had to go out of the country and we could not have picked a better place for him. He ended up having some health issues and we couldn't believe the care and attention the staff provided to him. They went above and beyond to make him safe and comfortable and gave us such peace of mind about being so far away. Roscoe's Ranch is a beautiful facility, but more than that, their staff is the best you can ask for. They are so kind, responsive, and understanding. I can't recommend this place enough. I love, love, love this place and more importantly my dog loves it here. I feel that my dog received amazing care. My dog, Roxie is a rescue. She gets very anxious when boarded or away from her people. She also loves to run. Roscoes has lots of open outdoor space where Roxie was able to run around, play catch and play with other dogs. The folks at Roscoe's Ranch sent me email updates during the weekend that Roxie visited the Ranch and kept me in the loop with how Roxie was doing. They even sent pictures of her playing with a new friend There is limited space so you do need to book early. read more

I just started taking our Danner boy here and I love it. I wish these guys got more love and reviews because they really have the best boarding I've seen. Here's a few reasons why you should consider Roscoe's: Clean environment. So far, so good! I was drawn to this place because of the amount of space each dog gets and the attention to each dog's personality - figuring out who your dog feels comfortable playing with or if they need individual play time. When I looked online to book all of the spots were taken. I gave them a call to see if there are usually cancellations and got a call back within the next couple of hours (on a Sunday!) The woman on the phone was so nice and explained that they usually get booked a year in advance for holidays (A YEAR). They must be doing things right if they get booked that far in advance and they aren't raising their rates or adding more kennels. Very excited to book for next years holiday season. read more

Roscoe's Ranch is about a 50 minute drive from our house. We pass numerous Kennels on our way. We've been making this drive many times a year for many years now, and we do this because Roscoe's Ranch is the best kennel we have found in the area. The staff is super. I have used Roscoe's Ranch twice now, most recently for a week length's stay. I have two high energy, demandng Weimaraners, one of which has "attitude issues" with any other dog other than his paired best friend. Roscoe's Ranch and the girls are FABULOUS! They are so meticulous with care and specific instructions/needs, and fabulous communicators. I am NEVER worried about my dogs while they are in their care. Roscoe's Ranch is THE BEST. This is the most excellent of environments for dogs. They are a smaller facility and run it out of their home but this does not take away from the incredible professionalism they exibit at all times. They have a barn they have converted into 20 personal dog stalls with outdoor runs and personal ceiling mounted space heaters. This is kept immaculate and if you didn't see the dogs in their stalls, you wouldn't even realize they were there! Absolutely no odors detected, just a bunch of happy dogs cuddled in their blankies on top of the elevated dog mats. The entire property is fenced in so you don't ever have to worry about your prized pup wandering off or getting loose. The dogs are walked twice daily on their private nature trail and have outdoor playtime with other compatible dogs. Meaning this isn't a free-for-all with a pack of dogs being held in check by an untrained teen. They take the safety and happiness of your dog very seriously and ensure if they do have playmates during their visit, they are compatible in size, maturity and temperament. If there are no healthy playmates available, they make up for it with human play interaction. While we were gone, we recieved email pictures of our Branimir playing and a progress report at the end of his stay. They didn't mind my checking in and took as much pride in his care as I do and kept me updated along the way. He even got a bath and was dolled up in a bandana when we came to pick him up! I have one spoiled and doted on pooch and finally I can get away more often now that I know I have such an awesome place for him to go in my absence. Peace of mind-Priceless! I've brought my two dogs (Mesa and Lola) to Roscoe's the last few times I've gone out of town and I couldn't be happier with the level of service, safety and attention they provide for my pups. Guy (the owner) and his staff provide a very high level of comfort that your dogs are going to be well taken care of while you're away and the pictures of the outdoor play time serve as proof that the dogs are having fun! As a side note, I've taken them to some of the larger kennels in the area and one thing that stands out is the level of "calmness" of the dogs at Roscoe's versus some of the other places. When I arrived at Roscoe's to pick them up, all of the dogs in the barn were quiet and content (and I suspect worn out!). Whenever I check out a business' Yelp reviews that are ALL 5- star reviews, I get suspicious. How is it possible that any business is SO good that everyone rates it a perfect 5/5 stars? That just can't be right, right? Well, in the case of Roscoe's Ranch, it IS! My dog is a rescue pooch with a checkered past we aren't aware of. She had never before been boarded or even spent a night away from us since we got her (5 years ago). She is very bonded to me and is extremely anti-social with other people and other dogs. Last year, we had a horrible time finding a house/dog-sitter for our annual summer family trip. None of the pet-sitter website services worked for us (we couldn't put our dog in a home with other dogs or kids, nor could we afford a house-sitter who'd walk our dog as much as she needs). I heard about Roscoe's Ranch (RR) from Yelp, and yet again, Yelp did not let me down! Where to begin, why I'm so impressed with RR? They responded to me promptly when I first emailed them with questions. They are totally upfront about their facility, their prices and policies. Heather and Ashley are wonderful and very accessible. They recommended we bring our dog there for a tour, which we did. The place is charming. Very clean, excellent enclosed yards (one for larger dogs, one for smaller breeds). The kennel stalls are in a picturesque red barn. They only house 20 dogs at a time. I'm not kidding, the kennels were immaculate. The individual kenneled stalls are quite large, with heaters above each one, and a doggie door to the rear of each stall, where the dog can venture outside in their individually fenced outdoor areas. They also have some individual separate "cottages" where you can house a few pets together (these cottages cost more).They will not put ant-social dogs in the yard with other dogs; instead, they'll let that dog run in the yard solo, and/or walk her individually. Lots of one-on-one time with each dog. They will administer oral meds to the dogs (no extra charge). They send the owners regular email updates on the dog and, every few days, they email photos. This was a HUGE source of relief to me and my family during our 2-week vacation recently. Since our dog had never been boarded, they advised we send her there on a "test night", which was a super idea. Between her tour there and her test night, she didn't freak out when we dropped her off before we left on our vaca. She was already familiar with the place and Heather and Ashley and her scent was already there. It sure made the drop-off 1000 times easier. What can I say? Our dog was in great health and spirits when we picked her up. There were no surprises, no hiccups, everything went so smoothly. I just love this place and wouldn't hesitate to bring our beloved pet here again! read more

I first encountered Roscoe's Ranch when my wife and I wanted to find an alternative to Pet Smart services. We were going to be gone for two weeks getting married, and did not want our dog Chloe spending a majority of her time indoors and in a small cage. The owners of this ranch have won "best pet sitting in western washington" three years in a row now and it's easy to see why. They ensure that your dog is mixed with the right dogs so that when they have play time they get along. Their ranch has a massive field where the dogs get two play sessions a day in. Also, they receive some individual time and go on a walk around this trail on the property. During our honeymoon, when we had cell phone service / internet connection, they would send out what are called "Pupdates" for you. You'll receive photos of your dog playing with the other dogs and it reassures you that things are going well. I was really pleased with the service and we are going to be dropping our dog off this November again when we go on vacation. She deserves a doggie vacation herself, and Roscoe's Ranch really delivers. I highly recommend this service for those seeking a far better experience for your dollar than a Pet Smart can deliver. read more

We have been going to Roscoe's Ranch since it's first year. Guy, Rena and their amazing staff has never disappointed. Our dog always gets picked up with a smile on his face and NO behavioral issues. I appreciate the fact that they always send photos of our pooch during play time and give us his report card when we pick him up. Roscoe's is the best! They are very popular now so my advice is to book sooner than later. I'm on the waiting list for 4 of July weekend when I thought I had enough time to book. I am happy for their success and clientele but am bummed I have to scramble for a back up kennel. This had never happened. Just another sign that they are excellent! read more

I don't even know how I found Roscoe's Ranch but it's seriously the best doggy boarding/vacation place ever. I couldn't be happier with the level of service they provide my dog Lily. She always comes home tired and happy. Guy and his staff genuinely love dogs and go out of their way to care for Lily like one of their own. I love their individual kennels and the organized/supervised play times and they even make food to mix in with kibbles for the picky eaters. :-) They also update me via email and always promptly answers my emails AND send me pictures of Lily. We have have used Roscoe's for boarding our mini Aussie for over 10 years. The staff does a fantastic job, sending "pupdates" and pictures at least weekly when your dog is there. Our 15.5 year old Aussie had a seizure (her first) while in their care and they did exactly what we would have done and kept in touch until we returned. Such awesome, genuinely kind people. If I could give them 10 stars it would not be enough. One tip I would give is to book any time with them early. They do fill up fast, especially during school vacation time. We usually booked all 3 day weekends and thanksgiving before the end of the previous calendar year. I wish we had a reason to continue to use Roscoe's. They are truly an amazing staff and your dog will be well cared for and have a wonderful time! read more

I will never take our dogs anywhere else for boarding! The ranch is clean, spaces are large indoor/outdoor, the staff is extremely friendly, it's close to Seattle, and my dogs had a great time. The prices are better than they are at the PetSmart pet hotel, and our vet clinic. Plus, they get more play time. This place will not nickel and dime you, either. Simple, easy, and trustworthy. The main reason I'm writing this review (I rarely ever bother to review places) is because of how they handled a situation with one of our dogs while were were completely unreachable in Mexico. Our dog's foot got irritated, and they ended up getting him seen by our vet. They didn't just take him to any vet, they took him to OUR vet, which is probably about 45 minutes to an hour away. It was during walk-in hours, so they had to wait for our dog to be seen, get examined, and receive medication for his irritated foot. The dog's foot is fine, but the fact that Roscoe's Ranch took him just in case speaks volumes. We will not be taking our dogs anywhere else when we travel, ever again! They will be getting a lot of business from us because we travel for weeks at a time, several times a year. This place is the best, hands down! Look no further. read more

I can't say enough good things about Roscoe's Ranch! In the past, I had such challenges finding a good boarding place for my dog because she is shy with new people and can be aggressive with other dogs. That's no problem for Roscoe's... they understand that every dog is unique and may need some specialized care. I never worry about her while I'm away, and she comes home having been clearly well cared for. I left my dog at Roscoe's Ranch during the summer of 2008 for 10 days. That is a mistake I won't repeat. My dog has a tendency to get what amounts to "hot spots" on his skin. This is very easy to control if caught in time and the medication applied promptly. I provided detailed verbal and written instructions along with the medicine on what to look for and what to do if a "hot spot" appeared. On day 5 of my trip, I was called by the RR staff and informed that my dog had a patch on his back with hair loss and inflamed skin. I asked if they had applied the medication. There was a short pause and then they said they had but they wanted to give him a bath. I told them that was fine but to make sure the medicine was applied after his hair was dry and to apply it as instructed (twice a day - same as meal time). I also instructed them to contact me if the condition didn't improve. That was the last I heard from them. When I went to pick him up after returning, his back was almost completely hairless, inflamed, and he was EXTREMELY uncomfortable. The bottle of medicine that they said they had used had been a new unopened bottle when I left it with them. It was still unopened when I picked it up. The seal hadn't been broken on it. They told me it had only gotten bad in the last 24 to 48 hours which, I know from experience, wasn't the case. It took many days of inattention to get him in that condition. After several months and a couple of hundred dollars in vet bills he was back to normal. None of that should have been necessary. If you care about where you leave your pet you should keep looking. There are lots of good places that can do a good job. Sadly, this isn't one of them. read more

I'm so pleased with the care my dogs receive when they are at Roscoe's Ranch. I brought in my dogs last month due to a family emergency. The staff were quick to respond to me by email and phone. They pay attention to detail and at the same time treat my dogs like their own. They even remember my dogs sleeping habits and eating issues.. My dogs are actually excited and happy at Roscoe's Ranch, because its truly a home away from home :) they get tons of play time, homemade food, and a bath before pick up. When I bring them home (40 min drive) they are still relaxed... As if this is just their normal routine. Roscoe's Ranch is definitely worth the drive for peace of mind... Previously I've taken my dogs to Seattle dog boarding services out of convenience but my dogs experience a lot of stress, irregular appetites and bowel movements too (sorry but this a must for pet owners to be frank about this). If I can't book Roscoe's Ranch, I rather change my travel plans or travel with my dogs. read more

I can't say enough about Roscoe's Ranch and all of the wonderful staff. They are professional, attentive and friendly. Our dogs are always so happy to go there. We love the photos and videos of the dogs playing while staying there. Specifically, I wanted to thank them for an incident that happened this month: We had tickets and were scheduled to travel to Hawaii for vacation. Unfortunately, my mom was diagnosed with terminal cancer (with mere weeks to live) 6 days before we were to leave. Roscoe's Ranch couldn't have been nicer. Our dogs LOVE Roscoe's Ranch and we do too! They have been there twice, once in a cottage and last time in the barn in a kennel together. I was worried about one of our kids because it was cold outside and she gets cold easy. We took a bunch of their bedding and put a fleece sweater on her. They offered to bring her a heated bed. While we were gone we received great pictures and updates from the awesome people taking care of them. When we ant to pick them up both dogs said a quick HI then pulled back toward the barn. HA! That definitely tells me that they enjoyed their stay. These people go above and beyond to make our dogs comfortable and keep us satisfied. The best boarding facility for dogs that we've ever found. Although it is not the most geographically desirable for us, we live in Seattle, We will not hesitate to board our dog there again, especially if it is for longer than a weekend. During our 1 week away, we received email photos of our dog and the other "guests" while they were having their outdoor play time. In one of the pictures our dog even had a tennis ball in her mouth, she LOVES to play catch, so that made us feel great. In addition, to the outdoor play time the dogs are given two walks on a leash through the wooded area of the property. Roscoe's exceeded our families expectations. I was very concerned about leaving Quint alone for two weeks while my husband and I were in Europe. Quint is never alone for more than 8 hours let alone two weeks. Our mini aussie is two years old, very playful and highly energetic. He needs lots of excercise and is very hyper if he doesn't get it. Also, not knowing the other dogs behavioral issues, I was very nervous about letting someone else chaparone his play times. The farm is beautiful with lots of space for walks and play. The barn where the dogs stay is clean and shockingly quiet. There is a board on the wall where the employees had noted every dogs special needs; it was very reassuring. Roscoes emailed us every three days while we were gone with "pup-dates". The emails always contained pictures of Quint romping hapily (and safely) with a couple new friends. One email said he loves "cuddle time"... how cute is that?! The employees noticed Quint was a sensitive pup and gave him some extra love : ) Roscoes is absolutely wonderful. What can i say but i wouldn't leave my dog anywhere else! The following morning we received a pupdate about our dog Tate and the very next day we received an e-mail with about 65 photos attached of all the dogs including ours having a blast. The staff is utmost professional and my dog came home smelling better than when i took him (shame on me) . His complimentary bath is more than appreciated. I needed a place to board my senior dog who has separation anxiety. I thought about my vet but having worked in a vet office I know how barren those kennels can be. A friend suggested Roscoe's Ranch to me so I looked them up and was impressed by their website. I scheduled a tour for my dog and was treated so well by the employee who showed me around. She even waited patiently as my dog marked every single tree and blade of grass. She's a scenthound after all. I left after the tour feeling very confident about the employees and the ranch. After I dropped my dog off I felt that she was in good hands. The next day I got a "pupdate" letting me know how Sophie did overnight and she got a glowing report. No excessive barking like I thought. Then they sent me pictures of Sophie out in the play area interacting with other dogs and she looked so happy and content. When I came to pick her up I'm not sure she wanted to leave. She had apparently bonded with the woman who feeds the dogs. I was a little bit concerned when we got home because she did not seem like herself, but after spending the night at home she was back to her normal doggy self. I have a feeling she was just getting used to being back home. After all, she probably thought I was leaving her there and that I would never be back. I posted a thank you note on their Facebook page and they actually replied to it. To me that means that they care about their clients and their reputation. I will most definitely be boarding with them again and I highly recommend them to my friends, family and anyone else who needs a place to board their dog.
