I'm happy others had a good experience at Purrfect, but during my recent tour of the facility, my nose was hit by the overwhelming stench of cat urine that permeated the entire place. Last time I was there, under the original owners, it smelled of bleach, which at least seemed clean. Today I could not wait to get out of the there. Maybe they were just having a bad day, but It was awful. I decided instead to hire an individual to care for my cat in my absence. read more

Boarded two cats here for 6 days. I feel deceived, in that the area they showed me on a tour a month before boarding, which I believed was where my cats would be kept, was not, in fact, where they were kept. They were kept in the basement of another building entirely, an area with a lot of cages and a lot of cats, not the small-ish cozy place I had been shown. I chose this facility because of what I saw on the tour, which was misleading at best. They need to show people where their cats will actually be kept, so that an informed decision can be made about whether to board your cats with them or at another business. I didn't learn about this switcheroo in location until drop-off, by which time it was too late to do anything about it, as I had a flight to catch. Upon arrival, they took my cats' carriers into the area I had toured, and had I not asked for my daughter to be able to see where they were going to be kept, I would have believed that they were going to be kept in the cozy main area, not the basement of the other building. I started my trip off being upset about where I was having to leave my cats. Also, one of my cats came home with a bad upper respiratory infection (URI) that took her 10 days to recover from. She obviously caught the URI there. It took my cats being home for two days before their behavior returned to normal. Overall, I guess this place was adequate, but it's unlikely I'll use them in the future. read more

This place was not a good place for our 2 cats. We purchased the top tier care for our two fur babies. Private room and such. When we came back to pick them back up. They were so traumatized that one was defensive with ears back ready to attack and the other was hiding under a towel in a hole. Not cool! I want to preface this by mentioning that I don't lightly pass out 5 star reviews on Yelp. Purrfect Cat Boarding without a doubt lives up to their name and perfect 5 star rating. My absolute hope is that my review helps throw some business in their direction because they truly deserve it after how they helped me and my family out of a difficult situation. My particular situation was that my family was relocating to Seattle with 4 cats. We set things up for Purrfect Cat Boarding to look after our cats for 2 weeks in early December. Things got a little difficult because it took us longer than we had hoped to find a place to live. This meant we had to extend our cat's stay through early January. Due to the Christmas and New Years holidays they were fully booked (they gave us plenty of notice of this too). Even though it wasn't really their fault, once we let Gordon and Rachael (the owners) know about our predicament, they were absolutely wonderful. Even though they were fully booked they went out of their way to figure out how to keep our cats there, rather than forcing us to find last minute accommodations. This saved my family (and most importantly our kitties) a lot of added stress during an already difficult time. On top of all of this, they were extremely nice and very welcoming to us the entire time even though we were new to the area. On top of their handling of our situation, they also have an extremely clean and quiet facility. The people who work for Gordon and Rachael are without a doubt 100% cat people. They treated my cats as if they were members of their own family. As an added bonus they were also extremely friendly and very helpful whenever we asked them about anything. In closing, I would absolutely go back again and I highly recommend that you take your cats there too. Helped us out of a bind with a last minute boarding for our 18-year old cat. They were very accommodating. Even put a little stool in her condo so she wouldn't have to jump so high. They were friendly and very easy to deal with. After a fire/flood put me out of my apartment I had little options as far as keeping my cat in a hotel/airbnb. I contacted Purrfect Cat Boarding and they were able to take my cat later that day. I was pressed for time and got there a bit late but they were very accommodating. They showed me the area where they keep the cats and everything was very clean and well taken care of. I had only put in for two weeks but of course my apartment wasn't ready so I called and asked for a week extension. They were very understanding and I was able to extend my cat's stay. I then had to ask for another week extension which they accommodated without any hesitation. My cat did run out of his food but they called to let me know that I could either bring more or they could feed him for a very small fee (think it was only like $2 a day). They allowed me to order his food from Amazon and ship it directly to their location. And when I picked up my cat they had labeled the bag and ensured I got it. Overall I could not be more pleased with everything. The location is great as someone who lives in downtown Seattle, the staff is beyond friendly and really go out of their way to ensure everything is taken care of, and the cat areas are clean. I picked up my cat after about 4 weeks and he seemed healthy, energetic and of course excited to see me. This was the first time boarding my cat. My cat is an only cat and has only been around one other cat, while she stayed with a friend for 2 days, while we were outof town. The lady was very friendly and informative on the phone. She thourghly went over all the information and made me feel ashured. Hi. This is Brez, Tyler's cat. He told me I could write this review. I love when Tyler takes me to Purrfect Cat Boarding. In fact, I usually don't want to go home with my human when he comes to pick me up because everyone at Purrfect treats me so well. The staff are so nice and keep me well fed and make sure that if I need any special accommodations, I am taken care of. This is good for me because I like to have a little Omega-3 mixed in with my food so that I can maintain a nice shiny coat. The cages at Purrfect are well sized and are always kept clean, with opaque dividers between them so that I can have my privacy when I'm in my room. What I like best about Purrfect though is when I get play time. Sometimes I get to play with other kitties and make new friends! I am glad that there is a place that my human can take me when he travels and am also glad that Purrfect Cat Boarding always has space, because sometimes Tyler has to leave on trips on very short notice and Purrfect is always able to take me in. read more

I was having a hard time finding a place to board my cat (most places in my neighborhood do only home visits) and I happened upon this place through Yelp. With all the great reviews, I decided to give it a try, even though I don't live too close. When I called, they were very accommodating to have me visit before I made a reservation. Yes, I am extremely protective of my fur child. The other boarding cats seemed content, the place was clean and quiet, and the staff is very friendly and you can tell they are cat people. Even when I went to drop off my cat, she is not the friendliest when out of her element, they didn't bat an eye and dealt with her great! I was disappointed with the indifferent treatment, both when dropping off my cat and when picking her up. When I explained that I wanted to leave my cat's small soft-sided carrier in the private room she occupied, because she is shy and sometimes likes to hide inside her carrier, the seemingly uninvolved young woman who checked us in said that I could leave it there for the moment but it would probably be removed later "because that's what they usually do." (I tucked it beneath a "kitty condo" platform, out of anyone's way, yet it was stored in another room when I returned to pick up my cat.) When I asked what kind of attention my cat would get from caregivers, the attendant told me that the cats in the kennel cages usually got the attention. I got my cat the expensive private room because she gets upset around strange cats, not because I wanted her in solitary confinement with no human contact. Returning three days later, having received no reports, when I inquired if everything had gone OK, the (different) attendant said she had no idea because she had just returned from being gone herself. So much for tracking my cat's welfare and reporting back. Left me with a bad feeling. read more

Really great place to board your cat. I boarded our kitty for 18 days while. When I dropped him off, I got to see the facility, where the kitties stay and the play room. It was great. Very clean, didn't smell like cat a all. The play room is outfitted with cat trees and toys. We have used Purrfect Cat Boarding (PCB) several times now. The business has large rooms with standard cages in the garage and basement. There are also a few private rooms which allow for multiple cats. The cages are kept clean, and the staff quickly learn your cat's personality and how to relate to each one. When you walk in the door, guess what you smell? Nothing! No cat litter or feces smell greets you. Now that is a clean boarding business. Our cat became very sick the last time we were away. We got a call from them on the day he became ill, and they even took our cat to the vet. Turns out, our cat was very sick, stopped eating and was vomiting. He developed triaditis, which is inflammation of several organs and is life threatening. It is not contagious-my other cats were not affected. The Veterinarian complimented them for recognizing the emergency situation and I'm happy to say he completely recovered, thanks to PCB's quick action and communication. We are big fans of this business and the caring and professional staff. read more

Um, I'm pretty sure these guys are angels. I had to be out of my house because I was having my floors refinished and the varnish is toxic. As contractors tend to do, there was a last minute schedule change and Purrfect Cat Boarding was EXTREMELY accommodating. I also didn't bring my checkbook and didn't have enough cash to pay when I got there (my brain is just about as organized as my house!) and she let me pay when I picked up my fur children. I thought it was extremely reasonable, I paid $26 for three cats for one night. On top of all of that, they did a great job with my cats. One of my kitties is a complete butthole when he goes to the vet or, apparently, when he gets boarded - they understood his hissy fits (literally) and just gave him space and let him holler. The space was very clean and they seemed very organized. I will definitely use Purrfect Cat Boarding for any future boarding needs (hopefully my cat won't be such an a-hole, sorry!!!!) and I highly recommend!! read more

We love Purrfect Cat Boarding. Why? Simply because they gave us back the ability to take a vacation again! Our cat is an abused rescue that we took in almost 10 years ago. He's always had a hard time with change, other animals, and generally being away from his people. We've hired someone to stay with him at the house full-time and part-time. He went on a hunger strike or a peeing-on-everything strike. We tried other boarding facilities. He got so stressed he was symptomatic for months and required anti-anxiety meds - it was AWFUL for him and we felt so bad. We were close to accepting the fact that while he was with us, we were going to have a hard time leaving. We decided to try Purrfect Cat Boarding 2 years ago and have used them ever since with complete success. Our cat obviously prefers being home with us and doesn't eat as much or maintain as normal bathroom habits while he's there, but the minute we get home again - he's totally back to himself. My husband and I left our two boy cats at Purrfect Cat Boarding for 10 days while we were in San Diego. This was the first time our cats were boarded so we were very cautious about where they stayed. Cats get to have "outside the cage" time daily, and the owners are able to care for special needs, such as administering medications. We called to board Ivan while our carpets were being cleaned. He wasn't thrilled to go, but Marla's boarding area was nice and clean and warm and he had a nice little cat condo with a shelf. We put his bed in there and he stayed the day. I checked in with Marla via e-mail and she responded right away and quelled my cat-anxiety. Ivan was a little butthole when it was time to go and he hissed at me like i was some stranger off the street, but Marla said lots of cats acted like this. They have rooms for the cats to play in during the day; each cat gets at least an hour by itself. And when the facility isn't full, Tommy often got to roam around on her own for better part of the day. They really seem to care for the animals and invest in the facility and caretakers to make sure they are always offering quality service. My cat also needed to take pills every other day and they were diligent about making sure she was on schedule. If you are planning to go away during the holidays or spring break, make sure to book early. While they have a fairly large facility, Purrfect Cat Boarding is a popular destination. read more

I had just moved to Seattle and i was waiting on a place to stay while looking for an apartment. I called Marla and Jeff inquiring if they had any available space for my 2 yr old ginger tabby, Buddy. Considering that it was 4th of July week I was so thankful to hear that Marla had one space available.
