Talk about a hidden spot. This a good place to go if you spent too much of your lunch break at the Five Below store and need something quick. When you walk in, you're greeted with a cool DIY Ramen making station if you desire. To the left you've got cold items and to the right you've got pre-made hot items to go. There were so many unique yummy items that were calling out to me on but I had to turn them down, can't get them all. I feel like maybe the time of day I was there, there were less items on the shelves than in the pictures online. But for sure was able to find something to hit the spot. I picked the beef bimbimbop which was so nice. Protein, carbs, and fresh veggies. Wham bam thank you m'am. It was nice and refreshing and I feel still healthy. The meal was nice and pure if that makes sense. It wasn't a dish full of heavy sauces or oil. Just...ingredients. They even have a couple of tables up front where you can quickly eat before you have to jet back to work - or you can just grab and go (hence their name lol ;))

Bibimbap w/ beef bulgogi

Finally!! A grab and go that I can actually GO back to!!! I wanted to grab dinner quickly but refused to buy fast food. I finally tried Purple Rice and I'm in awe. The inside is so clean and we'll organized. The warm items are kept separate from items that are kept cold. This is why this works! This is why the food is so fresh and good. The program is definitely understood . This method keeps the integrity of the dish! When I got home, it taste as if I went to a restaurant. I ordered the bibimbap with beef bulgogi. A sauce came with it as well. Everything was so fresh and good. The beef was good quality and not super fatty. The veggies were crisp and well kept. I had some leftover the next day and it was even more tasty!!!! The purple rice crispy was a tasty dessert I will most definitely be back!

Beef gimbap and ube crispy

I liked the beef gimbap quite a bit. The rice was pretty fresh and wasn't hard and the beef was seasoned well. I also tried the ube crispy treat but the ube flavor was not that strong. I think their sides are reasonably priced but I thought that their hot meals and gimbap were a it pricey.

Amazing spot to get your Korean sides for bbq at home! We picked up kimchi, cucumber kimchi, potatoes and ube rice pudding - everything was delicious!! We had the meat, rice and lettuce at home so this was perfect to have banchan options at home!! Service is quick / check out at the front and good to go! They also serve hot foods and have other options inside! We will definitely be back for more

I heard so much about Purple Rice and I finally got a chance to check them out! They are a family owned business who specializes in homemade authentic Korean dishes. The food is made fresh daily and the concept is a grab and go which I love! This is perfect for a busy week, lazy week not in the mood to cook vibe, rainy day, craving Korean food but don't want to spend hours dining, road-trip meals, picnicking , save money, don't know how to cook but want yummy food, and/or trying to eat healthier.... Purple Rice is for you! * pork gimbap: 5/5 genuinely the best gimbap I had! I was always disappointed in HMart kimbap because it's flavorless. This gimbap is so good! I was lucky to be able to grab the last one! * beef bugulgi glass noodles: 3/5 it was leaning on the very sweet side. If this dish was less sweet and balance a little bit more soy it will be perfect. * marinated eggs: 4/5 great for rice and extra protein! * braised potatoes: 4/5 it leaned on the sweeter side * marinated tofu: 5/5 very yummy with rice and it was not spicy. * spicy pork bowl: 5/5 loved it! I just wish there was a bit more broccoli than just 3 pieces . I love the purple rice and everything was cooked to perfection. Healthy meal and very reasonable priced! Good bowl size * beef bugulgi bowl: 3/5 beef was shaved very thin where it was breaking apart. Meat was very little compared to the amount of rice. It was less flavorful compared to the spicy pork which was well seasoned. * rice sticks in red sauce: 5/5 best to eat it when it's fresh. The texture and sauce is so well balance. It's not spicy but the sauce is what makes this dish and highlight the rice sticks! So good! And the best I've had! Do I recommend this place? Yes! Come support this 2 year old family business! Fresh ingredients made with love and is a gem in Austin! Everything is packed really well and the owners are super nice sweet people!! I can't wait to return to get other items I didn't get to try because they were sold out! I came late afternoon close to closing time and there weren't a whole lot left. So come early to grab em!

So glad to hear of another Korean restaurant opening in Austin and it was a fair bit closer to me than any of its competitors. I showed up today as part of their soft open and have to say that I'm tentatively impressed. It's primarily grab-n-go as you can tell from the photos, a lot of warmers with pre-made soups and dosiraks, which are like Korean lunch bentos, and a cooler with drinks and and takeaway soups. Everything was in a purple and white color scheme which made me think kawaii and they even had merch ready. In the immediate center was a little dessert table with samples of their Ube rice krispie treat and their Pumpkin Spice rice krispie treat, both of which were tasty, but they came in a tray and not individually wrapped. Behind that were a couple of different stations with induction burners but that was closed off. I ended up getting their ready made yukgaejang and their brisket doenjang and two little dishes of the eponymous rice. I liked the yukgaejang bettter, it was clean but still had that heartiness. The owner came by and chatted a little bit, she was just as kawaii as her store. She explained the stations are for cooking demos and classes but she didn't want to do that on the first day since she was so nervous. She definitely fit the vibe of the place: warm, friendly and open. She came back with a couple of small banchans when I decided to use one of their two tables to stay and eat. Glad they're here!

Soft opening

Been wanting to review this place. Went to their soft opening and got a ton of stuff and was so excited to try them all! Everything looked so good and we wanted to sample everything! Love how cute this place is! Love how it's so thematic purple! Love the location as well. Love how it's clean and spacious. It's near us well near to work at Domain. Across from Mighty Fine and Chipotle and right off Mopac too! So convenient. Especially for grab and go concept. We even did a little picnic outside where there are tables by the parking lot. So fun! Ok the food ahh where do I begin? Love the kimbap! One of the best I've had. Love how full they are. Everything we got tasted homemade and fresh. I bought a few for our college son and his roomie and girlfriend too. It's perfect for college kids. Easy to heat up. It's great for working people too. Grab and go! The beef rice bowls and bulgogi were all delicious. Everyone loved the spicy pork bento as well. We do favor the ube Rice Krispies lol so good! The sides were all pretty yummy as well. Just love how fresh everything is. And everything is reasonably priced as well especially since it shows they put so much love and care into each dish. And it's just so convenient. If you want a home cooked meal but don't feel like cooking that night. Hope they do well because the owners are the nicest people too! So kind and sweet. So helpful as well. Solid people and yummy Korean homey comfort food. Can't go wrong!

A lovely local mom and pop store to pop in and get my Korean comfort eats like I'm going to a family friend's place when I'm in the area! I love the bento assortment and the banchan sides that are readily available for purchase and consumption! The purple rice in our hot warm rice bowls were tasty, and the spicy pork bento was delicious. I also really loved the pickled beets - and look forward to trying the kimbap next time. Friendly faces and even friendlier service, look for the samples of the Rice Krispies, and pick up a box next time! The taro and pumpkin spice were offered in store and we left with a good deal of food! A few tables are also available inside if you want to dine in for an easy place to eat! Yay!

Seems like a solid place and super convenient if you work in the area for a quick bite. I grabbed some chicken dosirak ($14) after a gym session so I could have lunch the next day and it was pretty tasty! This is a grab and go spot and they've got some decent options. It was a bit slim pickings when I went late last night but still managed to get some goodies. If you're a vegetarian/vegan, I'm sorry to say I didn't see much you could eat here. It is a bit pricier than what you'd get from a grocery store but you are paying for ready to eat goods. They had some samples for their ube Rice Krispies and Korean tuna pasta salad. The tuna pasta salad was tasty and would be great for a lighter lunch with some crackers or a bag of Korean chips. The cashier was friendly and the place was clean! I think this is a nice addition to the Austin area.

White rice? Jasmin rice? No. PURPLE RICE is where it's at!! This spot is fantastic! The concept of grab and go Korean dishes is amazing and convenient. So many side options as well to go with your main dish and of course my all time fav, JOLLYPONG! The options are limitless and can rotate from what I remember the owner saying. We randomly came here during some shopping in the area on their opening day and we did get here a little later in the day so most of the options had run out but that was no issue as we still got to try some really great options. Their side options are plenty and you may go crazy picking them from the fridges. The staff was super friendly and the owner seemed just as excited for it as we were. I'll definitely be back to try the bibimbap and other options but man, so glad to have this concept in our city. Very spacious to eat there as well if you're not in a rush to go and the layout is easy to navigate through as well even if it were to be crowded. I highly recommend Purple rice! 5/5

We ordered the ox knee bone soup. The soup was great and had lots of meat in it! I was surprised by how many different side dishes it came with because usually food court meals come with bare minimum. I would highly recommend this place - the location is kind of hidden in comparison to the other stalls with bright signs so I can see why people end up eating the other places tha this spot.

Narrow Street 512 serves up Authentic Korean food with a personal touch. It feels like you're eating a home cooked meal at your Aunt's home in Korea. I experienced Narrow Street as a solo diner. My go-to dish I order 90 percent of the time I go there is the Chadol Plate (A3). It is beef brisket. You normally need to go to a KBBQ spot and get covered in a layer of smoke. Skip smelling like a campfire and get A4 at Narrow Street. The beef brisket comes with rice served in a metal bowl. You get 3 or four small plastic containers of banchan the rotates seasonally. There is a variety of different kimchi, fish cake, corn slaw, potato salad and more. Once in a while I like to switch it up and I order the Cold Noodles (F1) or squid and pork stir fry (A4). The cold noodles are refreshing with crisp cucumber, white radish kimchi, and korean pear. The noodles are bouncy with a nice chew. Great in Summer and Winter. The Squid and pork stir fry comes with a bowl of rice and it is quite spicy. It is spicier than average but still less spicy than Thai chili. The chewy squid and pork are nicely complemented with the crunchy stir fried cabbage. Once you taste it you can't stop eating it. The price at Narrow Street very reasonable for what you get in my opinion. It is sit down restaurant quality food in a fast casual setting. You can dine solo or go in a big group as there is plenty of seating at the Hmart Food court. You place your order at the counter and they give you a buzzer to alert you to go pick up your trays of food. The Korean ladies who work there are super friendly and will help you make your menu selection if you have any questions. I've been a dedicated regular since 2023. Narrow Street is my go-to for my Korean food fix!

It is a quaint little place, not too big of a space so luckily they did not have a wait when we went. I give it a five star review because of the sushi. The food for me was good, not the best like not great, but it does satisfy the Korean food craving. Presentation of dishes was so nice and fun, the sushi was on fire literally. They start you off with banchan-kimchi, macaroni, onions, and fish cake. It's standard, nothing outstanding, but they do give free refills! 1. Taimatsu Roll - My favorite dish we ordered. It's saucy and has a nice play on textures because of the crispy fried bits on top. It is stuffed with a sizeable piece of tuna and has a sweet mayo sauce. It is definitely more fusion leaning rather than traditional. 2. Dak-Galbi - A spicy chicken dish with sweet potato matchstick slices and rice cakes. There could be more rice cakes and flavor. It was not spicy at all, more of that sweet savory taste you get from gochujang based dishes. The chicken was super tender and there was a good amount! 3. Beef Rib Stew - This was a warming stew with glass noodles, it is a basic soup that is salty and peppery (some may think it's bland). It comes with a bone in beef rib that is fall off the bone tender! Overall, while the food wasn't the most outstanding, I would definitely come back to try other items (namely the sushi). I would also love to try the inari tofu pockets I see online (not sure if they still have that though since I don't think I saw that on the menu). Also, their other fusion leaning dishes like the carbonara tteokbokki sounds interesting.

It's a simple light broth with clear noodles. The menu is pretty extensive so we will be back to try more. Table next to use ordered the tteokbokki and pretty large portions.
