Recommended by my friend Tammy who is of Vietnamese persuasion and picky with her dining establishments, therefore I decided to give Pure Thai a go. She was correct, as this hidden gem didn't disappoint. Located in a small strip mall in a modern establishment, it is cozy and inviting to customers. Service was outstanding. We had Kevin who was attentive to our needs. We had the red and green curry entrees with chicken protein.The presentation was artistic and the flavors were just right without too much heat. We have visited numerous Thai restaurants in San Diego, Scottsdale, AZ, LA, CA and Hawaii. Pure Thai easily surpasses the experience of all others. It well worth visiting and giving it a try. I was recommended this Thai place and did not go in with high hopes as other Thai restaurants I've been trying within the area have not "wow'd" me. They definitely steered me wrong! I ordered the 2 dishes that I was recommended and was really impressed. Ultimate pad thai: I LOVE fat rice noodles and they made it so well in this dish without over cooking it. I think my favorite is actually the seasoning and the fact that there's many proteins. They do not skimp on the size of the shrimp! Tom yum ramen: The fried wonton is honestly my favorite in this lol. Not the main idea of this dish but they fried it so well and it soaked up the soup nicely. Other than that, the Tom yum is the best I've had within the area but I will say it is on the sweeter side. I'm not the biggest fan of ramen noodles but didn't mind it in this and will probably try the one with rice noodles next! Both dishes were a good portion for the price. I would say if you come with a group, it can easily be family style to share multiple dishes. Parking: it's in a shared plaza and right next to the road so I don't think parking should be an issue. I think this is probably one of my favorite Thai restaurants in Vancouver/Portland Metro Area. They serve and make dishes that aren't commonly on Thai restaurant menus which I enjoy. I got the Prik King Moo Krob which is Thai red curry stir fried with green beans and they add crispy pork to it. This has some spice to it, I don't think it's that spicy. However, don't recommend it if someone has low spice tolerance unless spice level can be adjusted. The green beans were fresh, delicious with a nice crunch when eating it. It paired well with some peppers and the pork belly. Cause of the sauce the pork belly wasn't crispy but definitely flavorful. I do wish there was more rice for it, at the end I had leftover sauce. I could have asked for more rice I know. The portion size is enough for one meal. The staff got food out to me quickly after I ordered. The restaurant is modern and clean. There's decent amount of parking there too. I'll definitely be back to try more dishes. read more

The food was fine for the area The service was also fine not excellent or great by any means. The biggest issue I have is that 5 minutes after closing they summerly kicked us out of the restaurant. We spent over 200 bucks and I actually provided a nice 25% tip. Luckily I was not terribly far away so ended up driving directly to the place for an order. Order: Chicken Pad Thai...I appreciated that it was not super sweet. Decent umami flavor. I asked for medium spicy and didn't taste much spice at all. Chicken was kind of dry. Overall was an OK dish. Chicken Tom Yum: Flavorful dish but didn't care for the (too many) red onion. Lots of oil but not a deal breaker. Fair amount of spice, not a ton of chicken. Again, overall an OK dish but probably not something I'd order again. Most dishes will run you roughly $15+ which is fair. They have quite a vast menu so I'd probably give it another go trying some other dishes. read more

Where do I even begin. This place is overall quality!! The inside has a really nice ambiance as well, very relaxed. I omit certain ingredients due to my food sensitivities and they always make it perfect! I am very picky when it comes to a good Pad Thai and here is where I found it to be that authentic taste. Wow the young woman at the counter was crazy rude to two delivery people tonight. I just watched her while I was eating. The food is good but that woman at the counter was awful. I think she was wearing a green shirt. I felt sorry for the delivery people. She probably made their night pretty grim. If I come and she's working I'll leave. Update to my previous 5 star review. The quality of the food is just not the same in the new location. In the old location everything was fresh, expertly cooked, and well balanced. Pure Thai Cafe provides delicious Thai food and good service. My husband and I asked for medium-hot spiciness for our dishes. We ordered Pure Wings. The wings were HUGE compared to other Thai restaurants. LOVED the dipping sauce! Reminds me of finadene (hot dipping sauce in Guam). Wings were hot and crispy. We enjoyed the Papaya Salad. We liked the tangy dressing, and lots of cherry tomatoes. We substituted brown rice (instead of Jasmine rice) for the Thai Fried Rice. We ordered it with pork. The portion was big, which we appreciated. Plenty to take home. The Pad Kee Mao was with beef. It was more tasty than the Pad Kee Mao we've had at other Thai restaurants. Prices are reasonable. Overall the food portions were larger than the other Thai restaurants we go to. I'm pretty sure it has something to do with location. Pure Thai is in Hazel Dell. The other Thai restaurants we go to, are in Felida, and in Salmon Creek. Pricier areas (re: rent). What would have made this review a 5-star rating, would have been authentic Thai background music. They were playing music by Shawn Mendes and Camila Cabello (Señorita). A little odd in my opinion. I appreciate it more when ethnic restaurants play their country's native music. Pure Thai is a sure Thai for me from now on. This review is for take-out only but I would love to dine in next time as the store had a very calm and welcoming vibe. I called to put my order in and they stated 15 minutes and when we arrived the food was ready and the billing process was fast. We had Khao soi and Tom Kha and I can't fault a single thing with both those items . The soup was Rich creamy and beautifully balanced mix of lemongrass, galangal, mushroom, onion, lime leaves and Chicken .I got a medium spice for this one and found it perfect . The Khao Soi was equally delicious and came very well packaged, I regret spicing it down to mild and I would recommend the Medium for most people as I personally found the mild low on flavors. Came in after work for a quiet bite to eat with my husband. I've seen pictures of the food here so I wanted to come try it. The restaurant is located in Orchards, across from the Shari's and Fred Meyers. The parking lot is small and kinda tight. The staff was really nice and the restaurant was very clean, but small. We were seated right away when we arrived. The menu was pretty big so it took me awhile to decide what I wanted to try. The potstickers were okay. The minced chicken dish we ordered was good. We topped it with a fried egg. The crying tiger dish was alright, I think I expected more from it. The meat was overcooked but the marinade and the sauce it came with was good. This place has been on my must-try list for a while now. Decided to give it a shot while running errands nearby. Staff was friendly and helpful. The restaurant was clean. Located in a strip mall and parking can be limited due to the number of businesses sharing the lot. After perusing their rather extensive menu, we decided on the shrimp salad rolls, golden flowers, chicken satay, and pad kee mao. The shrimp salad rolls and peanut sauce were my favorite from what we ordered. The golden flowers were my least favorite. They were too fishy tasting. The crab was chopped up too fine with very little cream cheese...not very appealing to my taste buds. The chicken satay was just ok, too. A couple of pieces of the meat were a weird color, kind of a dark gray color inside. My husband enjoyed his pad kee mao. He said the flavor was nice and heat exactly how he ordered it. Overall, an ok experience. Maybe we didn't order the right things?! I'm not sure if we'll be back or not. We weren't really wowed by anything we tried. read more

6/5 stars, this place is amazing. The pad Thai isn't sweet, it's deeply complex and umami. The pad see ew was even better. The papaya salad was fresh and crisp, the crispy rolls and golden flower wantons were perfectly fried, and it was clear they used fresh frying oil as there was no bitter or acid after taste. We got takeout and it was amazing, I can only image its better fresh out of the kitchen. I will be evangelizing this place with everyone I know. read more

Attempted to come here a few months ago, but didn't realize they were closed on Sundays. I know, I know should've checked first. But it's all good, I finally made it back. It's set up where you order at the counter & find a place to sit. We went with the Tom kha ramen, green papaya salad, & the steamed dumplings. Our food was ready pretty quick. The Tom kha ramen was probably my favorite, so flavorful, something different & a meal in itself. Papaya salad was good, thought it was interesting that they include half a cabbage. I'm not sure if you're supposed to eat it with the remaining salad dressing? Dumplings were very tasty, I really liked the sauce it came with. We got a mild spice level on the salad & it was enough. You could taste the spice, but it wasn't overpowering. On the ramen, we got medium which also was perfect with that dish & the sweetness of it balanced the spice. Very cute place. Went here for the first time after a tattoo sesh and Thai food was much needed. The food that I ordered was AMAZINGG. We ordered/paid at the counter and our waitress told us we could sit anywhere so that was cool. She was very nice and attentive; she gave us a lot of napkins which was sweet! I'm a messy eater so that was much appreciated. The papaya salad was great, it was packed with flavor! I loved the Pure Thai wings w/ the Jaew sauce. The wings were plain, but it was great with the sauce! I also dipped the wings in the peanut sauce and that was STELLAR man. Salad rolls were soft and fresh! The Thai iced tea was too sweet for my liking but still good! I had a bite of the Khao soi and it was okay. In my opinion, it lacked flavor and I usually like it with a lot of cilantro and onions. Super cute and quiet cafe near Battleground. Attentive and nice staff. We ordered the Tom Kha soup to share (pictured), and then I got the shrimp pad see yew. Ordered it spicy, it could've been spicier but that's an easy fix. No photo of it cuz it was demolished, but it was gorgeous and the shrimp were thick and flavorful. I had the beef salad and it was a wonderful blend of slightly spicy with fresh tomatoes, lettuce and cucumber to keep the heat from building up. The beef was beautifully seasoned. First time trying Pure Thai Cafe. We had it delivered so I can't speak about the service or ambience, but I can say this was the best pad Thai I've ever eaten. I had the ultimate pad Thai, which was incredibly savory and flavorful. It had wide noodles which soaked up all the yummy sauce. The only thing that wasn't great to me was the pork belly. I'm really weird about pork. It tends to taste "off" to me but I guess I imagined the pork belly would be served crispy, which I thought might be nice. But it was soft and fatty and had that taste that I don't like. Next time I will just ask that they leave out the pork. This is my new go to place for pad Thai. read more

Went to get food, ordered at the table with the scanner. After I ordered I realized my friends got a tai tea so I wanted one, it's $6.00. I ordered it and got a tai coffee which I mistaken ordered, but I wanted the tea. So I told them I made a mistake and asked if I could get the tea, they said no. So I went to the manager and he was extremely unprofessional. Argued with me, said it's not his fault and cannot give me my money back. Extremely unprofessional business then after 5 minutes of arguing with him to give me my money back they said they'd exchange it and brought me one with the same cup, it tasted like coffee.
