We have eaten lunch at Hummus Hummus several times in the past year and we have not ever been disappointed yet with our food. On our last visit there earlier this week, we had gyros, falafel, and salad. The gyros they serve are the best we have ever eaten as well as their falafel. The sauces are all topnotch and delicious also. Their food is authentic Middle Eastern and it is the best we have had in Vancouver. The restaurant is small and is located in a strip mall, so it apparently does lots of take out orders. We always dine in but our orders are always served in take out containers, but each table in the dining room had vases of fresh roses. We are just happy we discovered this restaurant and this wonderful food. Highly recommend if you like Middle Eastern fare. read more

I used to really like this place when they were working out of the food truck outside before they got the kitchen installed, and you'd see the family in there helping. The owner used to be so friendly, the food so amazing. NOT NO MORE. Friendliness gone like the flavor in the food. My wife's had the veggie combo as her meal the last two years and she said the quality has slipped. Flavors not quite right like they used to be. I don't know what changed but for sure the owners attitude and the food quality. And sir, please don't get mad at us customers when your new payment device doesn't work. We were at the Mall and wanted something different. I went to google Maps and typed in "food near me," to get every possible option. At the edge of the screen I saw "Mediterranean." It was only a couple of miles away. We find what appears to be a food truck and behind it a tiny storefront mostly hidden by the truck and an empty store next to it. There are a few parking spaces. Most people might turn and drive away, but having traveled the world and growing up near NYC, I know not to ever judge a restaurant by its unfortunate location. We ordered two of the Gyros. They serve a nice tea for free. The owner's name is Edmund. He was very friendly and he gave us some samples of his Chicken Shawarma and Falafel so we could try them. All the food was fresh, carefully prepared, and was delicious. You can see he takes his business and his families traditional foods very seriously. So if you want a break from pizza, burgers, cold cuts, and greasy American Chinese food, go experience Edmond's Humas Humas. Don't forget to tell him a guy on Google sent you. read more

After driving by this place for years and reading a few reviews, I finally tried it out for lunch and was amazed. First the bad: there isn't a ton of seating. And there isn't much parking. We were there on a Saturday and ended up parking in the flex space next door (all the businesses were closed there). But if you come on a busier day, just be aware of space issues. Now for the good. Service was quick and friendly. I had the chicken shawarma wrap. My partner had the falafel and hummus. We also have a couple of dolmas. Everything was excellent. When the food was delivered, the woman helping brought us a bowl of sliced pita that we hadn't even thought to order (otherwise we would have been eating it with a spoon). A lot of great Middle Eastern in the Couve and this one is great. I have to go to Kaiser Orchards every month and Hummus Hummus is not too far down 4th Plain. I really like their falafel and hummus. Their lamb gyro is really good too. It's a food truck to restaurant story which is always admirable. The owner is very personable and friendly. It's not too far off the 205. Being Greek/Egyptian in my 60's, I have tried many Mediterranean food options in the Northwest. I am also a great cook so when I came upon Hummus Hummus reviews and what all of them consistently confirm, I had to try it. Absolutely agree with all of them, the chef is not only adorable and full of pride about his cooking, the food is TOP NOTCH. Many places offer wraps, hummus/tahini/tzatziki sauce etc but the differential is in the mix, spices and how you make your falafels. I always ask vendors how they make their falafels and when they tell me it is a powdered mix that they add water to .. I walk out. THIS chef spelled out everything he uses and the combination is classic & PERFECT: chic peas & fava beans combo, cilantro, parsley, green onions, cumin, salt & pepper. The portions are generous, the salad is very fresh, the type of pita pocket bread is traditional (not that think flat bread that ends up being 30% of the content of the sandwich instead of a traditional true "pocket") We were so impressed with everything about this place, we got 2 warps for lunch, 1 falafel & 1 lamb gyro + 2 combo platters for dinner. The grape leaves are .. well, as good as I make them (but mine have ground lamb in them) !! That means that they are the best ever! One of the better Mediterranean foods in town. It used to be a food truck that apparently has been operating for 14 years. They finally have a store front ( same plaza). The first time I went I think they were short handed but they're a family owned business and so nice!! Today I brought my bf and the chicken was so flavorful compared to my last visit. Prices are RIDICULOUS , and owner has a HUDE ATTITUDE problem. the guy who seemed like he owned the place was furious I didn't leave a tip due to his horrible attitude, The order was to go anyways. Asked him what a a couple things were because I've never heard of them and he didn't care to even answer the questions. I was very excited that Hummus Hummus opened a permanent location in Vancouver. While not the fanciest location it is very convenient on Fourth Plain. The food is quite good and the owners are really nice and interested in their customers. They are still waiting for their hoods to be installed so you order in the building and the owner goes out to the food truck where they have the lamb and chicken roasting. I had the gyro platter which was very good and the portions were great. I couldn't even eat half of the food. Leftovers ! Yippee. read more
