Pure Nail Bar - Nail Salons Near Me - Vancouver, British Columbia

I have been a loyal customer of Pure Nail Bar since they opened and have been getting cat-eye manicures and pedicures here since 2023. I live just down the street from the salon, which makes it convenient, but the main reason I've continued coming back is because I've consistently had positive experiences and have always left happy with the service. Unfortunately, my most recent pedicure was disappointing. From the beginning, the technician's demeanor made me feel uncomfortable. She handled my feet as though she didn't want to touch them and provided very little communication throughout the service. Rather than simply telling me when to lift my feet or place them back in the tub, she would just look at me and seem to expect that I should know what she wanted. It felt awkward and unwelcoming. The biggest issue was with the cat-eye polish. I specifically requested and paid for cat-eye polish on both my manicure and pedicure. My manicure was done by another technician and the cat-eye effect was exactly what I expected. During my pedicure, however, I was told that the effect was difficult to achieve on toenails because they are smaller. After I questioned why my pedicure didn't resemble my manicure, she only applied the cat-eye effect to my big toenails and left the remaining toes as they were, explaining that the other nails were too small. She mentioned she could try, but by that point I had another appointment to get to and didn't feel like I should have to keep insisting on receiving the service I had already paid for. To make matters more frustrating, I was then told that if I wanted a darker cat-eye effect, I should request a black base next time. Had this been explained at the beginning of the appointment, I would have gladly considered that option. Instead, the explanation came after the service, when it was too late to make changes. The hot stone massage was also uncomfortable. The stones were very hot, yet I was never asked whether the temperature was comfortable before they were applied. A simple check-in would have made a big difference and demonstrated some concern for client comfort. I want to emphasize that this review is based on my experience with one technician and not the salon as a whole. Over the years, I have had many excellent pedicures here and have always felt well taken care of. That's why this experience stood out so much. As a customer who has supported this location for years and lives nearby, I left feeling disappointed, unheard, and as though my comfort and satisfaction were not a priority. I hope this feedback is received constructively, as I would like to continue supporting this salon and seeing the level of service that originally made me a loyal customer. read more

Frustrated that my manicure didn't last 24 hours despite not doing anything that would impact them. The top coat peeled off by the next morning and layers of polish peeled off over the next 48 hours. I went back at 42hrs to ask what may have caused the issue and was yelled at by the person at the desk. No guarantees! Get Gel next time!! I was looking for information/knowledge, not to get yelled at! read more

Geez, no wonder this place had available appointments on a weekend - they suck! The service is crap, they shaped my toenails in such a way that I've had to be extremely careful about ingrown nails as they grow out, and they totally overbook themselves. The only good thing I can say about this place is that they have a pretty selection of polish to choose from. Loads of options! They have massaging chairs too. Free parking available in the plaza lot. Free wifi available. read more

Really happy with this place, was concerned because of reviews but I had a completely different experience as well as my mom. Hannah was thorough and also did a wonderful massage. Kerry took great care of my mom's nails as well. Will return. read more

Also forgot to fill in that they were so rude to my friend. Clearly we were younger at the time but they were so rude and they kept yelling at her to relax as i said in the previous review. Expensive prices and low quality. My natural nails were so soft and I think it is because of the acrylic but it hurt so bad, my nails were badly done and the nails were crooked. read more

This place has really changed after Covid. I returned 2x after very beginning of lockdown to find my usual artist Lily gone and no one there even the other girls we were friendly with seemed to be happy to see clients. What made me decide never to return was over a year and a bit ago, I received a text message to my cell from one of the girls Who worked there that I really liked hence her having my cell number. This message was begging a client to take down a bad review For Pure Nail At Champlain. I responded jokingly and said glad I got message as I was thinking of scheduling for myself and daughter and surely review is a mistake or misunderstanding as the girl I was texting with I always thought was wonderful. The reply was. "Oh it's you??! ". No apologies or offer of availability with said nail artist Basically no further response ( they used to be happy to reply). I decided that after years of my patronage before pandemic $$$$). A small response would have been nice. No more Pure Nail Bar for us. We tried other locations but unfortunately just as dissatisfied read more

Pure Nail Bar - This is a $57 dollar pedi x2 plus $20 tip. $140 plus spent. Poor service for daughter and definitely bad polish applications. - Nail Salons Near Me - Vancouver, British Columbia

I've truly never had a bad experience here. Every time I come here, I leave happy and with some bombass nails. I came in today super excited to finally get my nails done after quarantine. I left the salon so disappointed. The lady who did my nails, I think her name started with an A. Saw it on her drill. Anyways, she was filing away at my nails and she kept filing on my skin, I said ouch and told her. But it just constantly kept happening. My nails are completely uneven and crooked. I told her one nail was longer than the other and she cut it to fix it then told me I should've told her before she shaped it???? She didn't even clean the dust off my hands properly then proceeded to lotion my hands? There was nail polish stuck all over my hands? She also didn't give me cuticle oil at the end?? No big deal but still. If I'm paying for the full service then I would like to receive it. Also my full set was supposed to be 1.5 hours but it took her 2 hours for a basic 1 colour full set. -. This is by far the most disappointed nail appointment I've ever had. read more

I really like coming here. The place is always busy and an appointment is a must! Friendly staff. Clean environment.

I AM IMPRESSED!!! This is my first time here. It's a treat for my daughter for Graduation. Of course the 2nd daughter had to come too haha. First, making the reservations online. It was quick and easy. There was even a spot for special instructions, I was so impressed. My younger daughter doesn't like her cuticles trimmed. She had two bad experiences in the past at another salon where they cut more than just her cuticles. So in the special instruction area, I wrote no cuticle trimming for her. We were greeted upon entry, and were politely told to go choose the nail polish colour. Once we chose the colours, we were seated immediately in the massage chairs. They were ready for us and had the water running for the foot bath already. The ladies began working on us right away. I was observant of what was going on around me and I noticed that all the ladies who were working on customers were wearing masks and gloves!! AWESOME!! Which brings me to mention how clean and sanitized the whole shop is. Even the waiting area was great. two large comfortable couches / sofas to lounge on while waiting for people. High ceilings and two large TV's for your viewing pleasure. I was waiting and watching for the part where they trim cuticles ... and sure enough, the lady working on my younger daughter confirmed with her about no cuticle trimming!!!!!! YES!!! they actually READ about their next appointments!! My daughter explained what happened at another salon and agreed to let the lady trim her cuticles and the lady gingerly trimmed around the nail without issue!!!!!!! We all agreed that our favourite part of the pedicure was the massage ... aaaah! FREE WIFI with a strong signal to boot, this is a plus plus plus! Could anything have made this appointment better? Maybe an offer of water, tea or coffee ... but I was happy with my Starbucks. So not a huge issue at all. And the price? Another plus!! Their services are priced competitively for sure. This is our new go to place for nail services! I highly recommend this place!!! read more

So ive been here 3 times during the pandemic. Although they do a good job of keeping things, its a tad crowded. The worst part is I always make an appointment but they always run late which would be fine but then the rush the service and make it feel like its your fault that the appointment's behind. It dosnt help when they constantly speak to one another, where the tone is catty as one cant understand as it's not in English. I speak a second language so im all for inclusivity but for the most part its easy to pick up when youre being talked about and not in a good way. After being rushed through an appointment, especially tonight when it's open till 7:00 p.m. but staff began to rush by 6:00 p.m. and began leaving by 6:30 p.m. I felt horrible being there. I was asked to pay as they wanted to cash out at 6:30 p.m when my mani polish wasnt even applied yet. I am all for accommodating but I was made to feel like a burden when I am respectful, showed up on time, had to wait, then get rushed though for a service I was overcharged for. When booking, the price is indicated. A deluxe mani/pedi with paraffin for hands & feet is $70 plus an additional charge of gel removal which I was told was $5.00. I was charged $94.00 before tip. I had three people pass me around as each wanted to leave so took turns to hurry the process. Ive given this place many chances as its clean but their customer service is seriously lacking. They come across as passive aggressive and make you feel horrible throughout any service you get. I can honestly say I will not be recommending this place ever again. read more

Was very upset today. Went to get my nails done before my birthday this Saturday and grew out my nails specifically for it. Toes were done well but extremely upset with my nails! The technician checked on length and I said okay but not realizing she had completely filed it down so short that there was barely nail left. I came in with the longest nails and left with the shortest and barely anything left and I had done shellac! So now I have to find another salon to get it redone with acrylic or gel, which I wanted to avoid that's why I grew them out! I'm so upset, waste of time and money and ruined my bday get together with my 3 sisters. On top of that she kept arguing back that she checked. All my sisters looked at my nails and couldn't believe how bad they looked! So disappointed and I had refer few others to come here and will now tell them not to. read more

Very busy place so make sure you make an appointment. Situated in a mall close to Starbucks and Kins market with lots of parking. They have lots of colours to choose from, various services to offer and many nail technicians to serve you. Pure nail bar also take visa and interac not like many other Asian places that take cash only. I came here for a gel fill and was served promptly and done within an hour. Most importantly are the prices are reasonable and my gel fill looks great! read more

Pure Nail Bar - Thank you Tracy - Nail Salons Near Me - Vancouver, British Columbia

I was in the mood for a bit of pampering on a short notice so coming the Pure fit the bill and it was close by! Salon was conveniently located in a strip mall which meant free parking and a Starbucks a couple doors over! Walked into an open modern space that was very clean (yes clean) and not cluttered! I was greeted and told to go to the wall to select a polish and have a seat at the indicated pedi massage chair. i had to figure out the chair and fiddled a bit while the lady doing my pedi worked efficiently and nice she would ask me if i was ok with each step before continuing on. I got a pedi with parafin and polish so I was there about an hour. Great work and reasonably priced as well as easy to make an appointment online! I didn't give 5 stars due to 1) having to search the wall first for a polish colour (gel i assume got the nail palette), 2) the massage chair could have been started by the tech first at a low level with ability to increase pressure as the setting I had was pretty strong and it vibrated so much that my coffee almost spilled! ( i know, i could have asked for instruction but used to the tech starting the chair in other salons) However, I would definitely return when i come into Vancouver again and love the nail drying and cuticle oil at the end! read more

always a great experience here, I always go to Amy for solar fill and shes amazing perfect nails every time

Update: 24hr in and I already have 2 nails chipped and one's fallen off. The worst manicure I've ever gotten. I went here based on previous reviews and I must say that I was not impressed. My nails aren't a uniform shape or length , the acrylic feels thick, flimsy, and it sticks out upwards, and I had to request multiple corrections (like painfully rough edges) and they still aren't the way I want them. The only thing I like is the colour. It definitely wasn't worth the money. I shouldn't have had to pay that much to get nails I'm unhappy with read more

I can't believe how long and wrongly loyal I was in continuing to goto Magic Nails on Georgia street near Seymour downtown. Settling for such poor quality and service... Learn from my mistake and instead come to Pure Nails. Not only is tracey, calm, efficient and incredibly skilled - but she wears a new mask and gloves for each person (something not done elsewhere - cringe). Tracey is professional and amazing. Loved the hand/forearm massage afterward and am just in love with her work. Wow! read more

I will give 10 stars if I could . If you're still hesitant to try this place. Do yourself a favor and make an appointment with the girls in here. I rarely write comments and I only comment for the place that I think it's truly worth it. Their work can be compared to Varnish on Yaletown or Nails de Kaen on Downtown Vancouver Their price range from 60 for a full set w gel color, and $35 for gel mani. Not too bad but absolutely worth every penny. I recommend them all, but Tracy is the best when it comes to design, and she's very detailed oriented. Will come back and follow Tracy for my nails !!!!! read more

Service here could be better. Ive been here couple times, but I've only felt welcomed and important maybe once. Worst of all is how dirty the store is. Especially with covid, you would expect the place to be cleaner but the plexiglass had marks all over it, fingerprints, polish..etc. The chair table had dust/powder from filing all over and the black trolleys they use to put supplies on as so filthy. At least the tools they used were in clean looking plastic sleeves but I felt so gross getting my nails done. It looked as though no one cleans around the store .. even once a day. My callus removal wasn't that great either, my foot felt dry afterwards. I only come here just because of the location and convenience. Please clean the store, as that's my biggest complaint. read more

Just had my nails done by Tracy at Pure Nail bar. She was really good and fast, they are pretty thin not super bulky as I've had in the past. I wanted to have a gradient from black to fluorescent yellow. She said she couldn't do it but I'm not sure if it was a time thing, language barrier or she didn't want to (didn't agree with my aesthetic?).. Regardless it was a pleasant and fast experience. She was thorough and quick. Total was 75$ including 13$ tip for acrylic tips and gel polish. read more

Pure Nail Bar - Acrylic full set by Tracy - Nail Salons Near Me - Vancouver, British Columbia

I would say the place is really nice but really squishy. The nails that i got are really nice but some of them are crooked and the acrylic powder isnt all the way to my cuticle. They also don't clean the nails but they just get started right away. On my right middle finger, the acrylic bead closest to my cuticle hasnt fully went all the way down and isnt even so theres a bump. My nails are completely straight and wasn't made with care. The price for me was $50 but the design i wasnt was gonna take $10 more. But when I paid it was $80 which was way out of my price range. I will not come back the next time I get my nails done. read more

I came to do my nails for my baby gender reveal party, and it's a Fri afternoon, they're super busy. The design I asked for was similar to French with a little extra. The girl that did my nails made sure everything was perfect. I'm not sure how it works, but I'm guessing the more customers they take, the more money they make. Other girls kept taking new customers, she still didn't try to rush me out. I could not be happier with the service and the result! read more

3.5 stars for the shellac pedicure by Teresa. She was careful and did nice work and was pleasant. 0 stars for the manicure by Fiona. She was extremely curt, sloppy, and rushed, and a bit rude in that sense. She seemed like a nice lady who let the stress of seeing so many clients get to her. Her work was awful--it all chipped by the second day and was like there was no topcoat. I felt so unhappy with the rushed work and manner--and I had to get it corrected the same week at a salon whose work and manner was excellent. The facilities and the equipment were dusty and not exactly clean but adequate. read more

Went here a second time - my nails started chipping after 2 days. On day 10 and the polish is 75% chipped off. I asked for nail art and they just glued some stickers on my nails (which started coming off seconds later) and charged me a lot extra. A COVID plexiglass partition fell on me as I was getting my nails done. The nail tech who bumped into it apologized but it was not professional. Didn't have the colour I wanted although I chose it from their bin of samples - she just chose a random one off the shelf and it was a completely different shade than the one I wanted. :/ However, my review of Amanda from last time still stands - she's great! read more

This is the worst nail salon I have ever been too, they try to SCAM you as a customer and they are unsanitary! they use the same buffers on each customer with out cleaning them, I got a fungus under my nail after going there reported it to them and the manager refuse to do another. they don't clean the chairs after each customer use, The metal tool they use to grind down your nails they do not change them after each customer, they are using the same dirty tools on each customer Fiona is super unprofessional and so is the managers there, they lack customers service skills, even when they use the grater to clean your feet they wash it off in the same dirty water as your feet are in. they are not friendly there and if you asked them to fix they shitty service they give you they get upset and try to scam you, They tried to charge my credit card with out my knowledge a few times but my bank blocked the charge. I will never be going to this place again its not worth it, the girl that use to do my nails left there because they treated the staff so bad and if you complain they try to ban you from the salon terrible place read more

I will never go back to this nail salon!!! I have been going to this salon for the past 2 years!! and I have spent a lot of money with them the past two times I got my nails done with the matte color the nails started stripping for the use of the poor product that they are using. today I was very upset when I went to get my nails fix, I said to Fiona I would like you to fix and change the color as the same thing happens last time with the polish stripping. she said okay no problem wait, I waited for 1hr 30 mins to have them fixed the issue, when it was time to go they were asking me to pay I said why do I need to pay for you to fix the issue the manager was very unprofessional and rude!! so I told them I would not be paying for there mistakes or shitty products they are using. The last time one of my toes the polish started coming off I went there said the same issue with my one toe, they gave me attitude and did not want to fix it for free they asked me to pay. Told them I would not be paying as I paid 180 dollars to get less then a week before to have the issue fix. when you get a new set or fill they are nice to you, but when you asked them to fix any issue you are having they give you attitude, The only person that is nice there is Amy she is sweet, the rest including the manager. They also have some shady dealing going on there could be a money laundering location and they are trying to cover the scam they are running up. I do not recommend anyone to visit this place as they have bad customer service!!!! read more

Im usually very happy with this place but not this time. I came with my mom for a pedicure and booked on a day/ time I knew it won't be busy in purpose. The lady didn't take care of my mom's feet very well, she was so excited to get her feet scrubbed to remove the hard part under and on the side of her feet but the lady did very fast and moved on to do her co-worker's nails between appointment The place felt dirtier than usually as well. I guess I'm better to come on busy day. read more

Had an appointment to remove my gel/shellac nails (hands & feet), but decided when I got there, it was better to keep my old tips as they still hadn't lifted since I had a new set put on in Quebec in May. Tracy was extremely accommodating and did an exquisite job of a Solar Fill (With Gel Colour) and Gel Colour Change Feet (With Soak-Off). A $20 appointment turned into $90, but still pleased with the quality of work. Best part was the hand and calve massage and the massage chair was delightful. Definitely recommend this place and looking forward to my next appointment already. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is because the girl that did my pedicure accidentally clipped my skin - ouch! Its all good - the foot bath was calming and relaxing. read more

This was my first time at any of the Pure Nail Bar locations. It was super clean and had a warm, inviting atmosphere. I was greeted and seated right away (I had an appointment). I've been to this place a couple times and the service is not bad but the ladies doing nails seems distracted most of the time. I did something simple the first time there and when I talked to the girl who was doing my nails about designs, she said I can look on Pinterest or Instagram for design inspirations for them to do. So I did that for the next few visits, but they weren't able to do any of the designs I wanted. I just think that if you are not able to do designs, you shouldn't say that you are able to. Just creates disappointment for your clients and they end up with something they do not like. Which is what I have now, a disappointment. read more
