I decided to try this place the lady at the front name Wendy told me to come in sit down I wanted to get a nail fill. I showed her the colour that I was interested on my phone. She couldn't even match it up. Then she decides to go to the back she doesn't say excuse me I will be right back nothing she just gets up and walks away so as I'm sitting there, patiently waiting and waiting and waiting she finally comes back. She starts the drill the red colour off my baby now then she asked her colleague next to her invert my niece. What colour is this on my phone she couldn't even match the colour app. How do you get pink from light beige, ? Suddenly she stops filing my 1 nail cuz a customer walks in wants assistance oh can I help you? I'm thinking you're supposed to be doing my nails but you're being a receptionist not realizing it's rude. Secondly, unprofessional doesn't tell me. Oh, excuse me, or do you mind if I just help this lady no no no these people don't know anything about customer service and professionalism . As I'm sitting there, patiently, waiting for her to finish being receptionist she comes back. She starts filing ONLY ONE NAIL colour which is red colour. Suddenly she stops again I thought to myself oh my God I'm gonna be here hours. She deals with another customer then her colleague next to her said something in Vietnamese to her and Wendy goes to the back just leaves me there no communication and I'm looking around like where is this technician? Where is she and I see her popper head out from the back I thought this is odd. So I'm sitting there waiting patiently. She decides to go over to the customer That's having a pedicure already . I thought OK this is odd then her colleague that's sitting by me, says something in Vietnamese to her across the room. Obviously Wendys said something in Vietnamese, and a colleague says to me, oh, she'll be right with you she's just taking out an ingrown toe nail. I said OK so I waited and waited and waited. I looked over what is this person actually doing . I couldn't believe my eyes. She was painting the girls toenails with colour thinking I'm not gonna leave because she already started filing one fingernail while she was in for a rude awakening. I gotta put my coat on walked out . Unprofessional, no people skills, trying to get in as many people as possible doing to people at one time. No, this is unacceptable. They don't speak to you they speak in their language to the other colleague, sitting beside them you can since they're talking about my nails . Since the other colleague looking at my nails like this is rude. I am surprised they are still in business. Definitely customer service isn't in there job profession oh, but when it comes time to pay Oh there's so attentive. Because they want to tip. I've been there before and they don't do very good work and they don't understand English for what you are requesting, so this makes it even challenging. So they don't understand English nor they do a good job for the amount of money they charge, which is outrageous but like I stress, they're very nice to you and attentive towards the end. That's when it comes time to pay money. . If you can avoid this place, I highly suggest it's not even well ventilated as soon as you walk in, you can smell the fumes they only speak in theirlanguage. I stress don't even give this business your time. They do a horrible job they can't even understand English what a customer is requesting they can't even pick up the right color. This is happened before there. I remember I asked for a particular colour lady goes oh yes I have it I said no that's not the color, so I just end up settling for it cause she didn't understand English none of them do. read more

I was there last week, I had mani and pedi then accidentally one of my finger nail stick to my shirt and it's ruined, I told the lady named Paula to please fix it , yes she did fixed it but before fixing it she told me we are very busy don't give me another job. I am a customer and I don't think I deserve to be treated like that. That is not a good customer service, and customer service is one thing they need to improve. read more

Toe infection alert!!! and no apologies or any kind of acknowledgement. My pedi done on Tuesday and photos are what happened very next day. I've called them multiple times and still havent seen any sign of effort to reach out to me while I'm on my antibiotic for 5days and suffering from chills at night resulted from infection. read more

This place started great now its just miss time after time. I find some of the staff quite rude telling me to watch tv instead of looking at my nails and they constantly whisper among themselves. I was also charged extra to remove shellac on one nail. I had already paid so it was a second transaction for the extra shellac which really probably cost them more in the end. I'm only in town for the weekend and was happy that they could take me as a walk-in. Vivian gave me a polish manicure. It was probably the best manicure I've ever received. Her attention to detail was excellent. She meticulously checked and rechecked each nail throughout the process to ensure each was perfect. My nails are short but I was so pleased I stopped in to have them cleaned up and polished by Vivian. She did a great job! Ask for Vivian and you won't regret it. read more

One of the more reliable nail salons in the area. It's pretty convenient and they accept walk-ins which is nice if I feel like I need a quick mani or pedi during my lunch hour. So far I've had a couple of shellac manicures at this location and they've done a good job! Did a pedicure today and it was quite nice. The lady who did my pedicure really took her time and focused on doing a thorough job. One downside is that they don't ask what kind of nail shape you'd like for your pedicure. What I've noticed is that when you book an appointment, they actually respect the time of your scheduled appointment. This is really important to me because I usually don't have time to be waiting around. I frequently visit this spot out of convenience, but if I have the time to go downtown then I go to my usual nail salon. :) read more

If you want to listen to the girls talking about customers or yourself in Vietnamese then this is the best place to be. I had a friend who speaks fluent with me and she was horrified. Staff seems nice until you have a issue with their work. They will make every excuse why it's not their fault. On two occasions I developed toe nail infection so I don't even dare to use that service. Almost every time I have had gel/shellac it has peeled off. I started going to another nail salon and use the exact gel colours and never have they peeled. I swear they dilute their products. read more

I love this place. I travel a lot, I've had to go to random places and I'm always disappointed. I get manicures and pedicures with gel polish. They're always super thorough, clean my hands and feet up so well they're unrecognizable :) My gel polish last a long time time, doesn't chip. I rarely make an appt. I've never had to wait long. Modern Nails is a great place to enjoy some relaxation in one of their awesome massage chairs while getting a pedicure. I was in the area, early for a dental appointment on a Monday afternoon. I remembered that several people I know have gone to the salon. I popped in, and luckily, was able to get in for a pedicure. Amy did my feet, and the attention to every detail was outstanding. I loved the result. She is gentle, and thorough. The salon is clean and comfortable, and plenty of people dropped by during my visit trying to get an appointment. They were too busy at that point to fit anyone in. So call ahead for an appointment to avoid disappointment! read more

I've been going to this place for years. It's a hit or miss. Pros: there are a lot of staff so if you walk in on most days you'll be served promptly. The prices are okay. Cons: they don't know how to Le on time for a reservation. It's like that Seinfeld episode. I make my appointment for a mani pedi for 1pm, and at 1:30 I'm still waiting. Then they do my pedi but don't have someone to work on my mani at the same time so I have to cancel the mani because I don't have 2.5 hrs for this! Bad time management. Con #2 is like the Seinfeld episode where Elaine's manicure place were all speaking in Vietnamese and she knew they were talking about her. This place is exactly like that. Con #3 most of the girls are very nice, but some are terrible at their job but they remain on staff. There's one girl names Paula who shaved off so much skin on my pinkies that it hurt to walk and she gave me 2 infections. I'm not a delicate person, but she really hurt me while giving me a pedicure and when I told her so she gave me dirty looks. Now when I go there I have to request not to have her. The other staff members told me that Paula gets a lot of complaints, yet she still works there. Says a lot about management. I actually got Paula again and told her that I couldn't have her work on me as she gave me 2 infections the last time and he acted like it was nothing. Didn't even apologize. read more

This place is fast and have super nice people with the odd occasion of bad service. Unfourtnitley I've encountered this mutliple times here where my girlfriend and I have booked appointments and have waited around to be taken. In the meantime they take others who walk in and in return we've been told they've had a sooner appointments. I highly recommend coming here if you have time on your hands. They will make you wait, but of course in the end they do a good job. Maybe someone can suggest customer service organizational skills. read more

I passed by this place a few times only 'cause from the outside looking in it looks like an office space than a nail studio, it wasn't the ambiance that they were going for. I came here as they were having a nail special. As a guitarist I couldn't go the full service, however, they still did a treatment without the polish which I was grateful for. This places needs some major ventilation. The chemical smells are so strong in there that I left with a headache. The nail technician was mediocre and the rest of them who weren't working on people were shoes off and on their phones. The price was decent under $40 for shellac plus tip. read more

Usually i go to this place, and have been going for years now, but!! There Sanitization is so bad, they don't change or clean there memory boards and files or the machine to file down nails, its pretty serious and people don't realize that you can catch an infectious disease or Fungus easily from the other person that just used it, i saw that they used a dirty nail file that was full of white nail residue and dust on the person beside me and the other girl grabbed it and used it on me. I could of caught fungus from that person. The Real Protocol for sanitization is that they are suppose to throughout it after each use. Everyone should have a clean one on every client! And even same for toe dryers , there is so much athletes foot and fungus in between people toes and they use the same one on each person. read more

Showed up today as a first time walk in for a pedicure . It looked super busy and seemed a little disorganized, but that just seems to be the deal at nail salons. I waited maybe 20 min before being seated in a pedicure chair then waited about another 10 min with feet in water not quite certain who was actually working on me ,as two different people seated and set me up with the foot bath. I was getting a little annoyed seeing more of the chaos going on and still not having my pedicure started, but decided to relax and go with the flow. Finally, Minh came over to start my pedi. I have to say Minh is super lovely and polite and probably has the gentlest touch of any nail technician that has done a pedicure on me . I didn't even feel her tools touching me( I have sensitive toes prone to ingrowns). I thought maybe she wasn't be aggressive enough, but in the end she did a super thorough job- all my nails looked even , no shaggy cuticles and baby soft soles! I took away one star for the waiting and being left a few times mid pedicure ( although Minh apologized each time ). I will definitely go back! read more
