Greek Salad
Rowan F.

Amazing delicious crisp salad and speedy friendly service. Couldn't ask for more (although maybe one a bit closer to newton!)

Menu board
Jessica R.

Thoroughly enjoyed my meal here today and love the bright decor of the restaurant. The staff here are also very friendly. I got the golden latte and it was the perfect blend of sweet and spicy. For my meal I got the seitan shawarma sandwich and I love how well they season the seitan. It also has a great texture and isn't too chewy. I really like the sauces they use for this sandwich and it's so satisfying. The prices here are also very reasonable. I was excited to see they expanded their menu since I was here last year and would love to try more of their vegan options.

The Orchard Salad and Original Acai Bowl
Alaina M.

Ordered ahead for pickup at 7:45 and it was ready on time which is always nice. The employee was friendly. However, paid for extra dressing on the side and only got one dressing. Paid an extra $1 for peanut butter and got just a drizzle. So, not a fan of the extra charges being such small portions. It's got indoor seating for groups of any size, and is good for vegans and gluten free people! A bit pricey, but healthy in the end.

Summer Forever

Had the summer forever salad. Sweet carrot and ginger dressing and fresh veggies. Basic but really tasty.

Ice... there were chunks of ice in the smoothie bowl. The smoothie bowl base was a sloppy liquid with chunks of ice. This did not make for a pleasant eating experience and we opted to leave short of finishing. It simply wasn't edible. The fruit was ok but bland, you could tell much of it was cheaper fruit or previously frozen. The real problem here was the lack of care. It was empty and I see why. At the prices charged there should be an overflow of premium ingredients. There wasn't, and quite the opposite actually. Bland food with sub par ingredients made without care to the final product. Shame.

mucha lucha salad
Christine B.

Ordered a mucha lucha salad here and found it to just be ok. Wasn't a big fan of the chorizo seitan, and the combination of corn, black beans, cherry tomatoes, avocado, tortilla strips, romaine and cilantro lime dressing is nothing special to rave too much about. I did find the dressing to be a bit lacking, probably would have liked for there to be dressing to add some extra flavor. I probably ordered the wrong thing from here. Their smoothies, juices and acai bowls look really good so maybe I'll be better satisfied if I decide to come back here to give them a try!

$6.99 this one is pretty good

I would go back just for that - crispy + slicing with scissors adds a whole other feel to it. I feel in control of my flatbread. Calamari was good but I'd choose the flatbread over anything. Parking in the area can be a bit tricky, but it's super convenient to get to via the Green Line, which made it easy overall. For food, everything was delicious: The Romaine & Kale Caesar was good, though I wish it had whole anchovies for a little extra punch. The prosciutto bruschetta was incredible, definitely a standout. The crispy cauliflower was my favorite dish of the night, so flavorful and perfectly cooked. The rigatoni bolognese was solid and comforting. The Chianti-Marsala braised beef short rib was insanely tender and cooked perfectly (just wish there were a few more mushrooms!). Also have to mention the dirty martini was so good. Overall, such a great spot with a fun vibe, amazing service, and really tasty food. I'll definitely be back!

I've been drooling over the passion fruit krembo and the pear tart so I had to give them a try as well. Pear tart- absolutely perfect, so mellow and sweet and I loved the poached pear in the middle! Passionfruit krembo- honestly stronger on the coconut and meringue flavor than on the passion fruit? Tastes almost like a lemon meringue tart to me. Orange blossom latte- frankly didn't get any flavor of orange blossom in the latte, until it melted totally I could taste it a little in the coffee. The vanilla was also really light. It's a pretty unadulterated coffee (as is typical for a cold brew) and I kinda like my coffee sweet and creamy, so I was not too impressed on a first taste. But once it melted I liked it a lot more. Probably will stick with black sesame next time. Note- they serve their pastries glued with sugar (?) on a cardboard round. Im not too sure how to eat it like this so I ended up prying them off the round.

I'm not sure what they offer on their regular menu because they only gave us the happy hour menu. I wonder if you're able to order something from their regular menu during happy hour? Anyways, we got three things from their "Shy Hour" menu: - Chipotle cheddar bacon smash burger ($10) - ranch fried chicken sandwich ($10) - 12 chicken bites (60¢/each) + sauce flight $2 Chicken bites were good. Not dry at all & I highly recommend paying the extra $2 for the sauce flight to try all the sauces they have. The chicken bites do come with a choice of one sauce though & is 60¢ per extra sauce. Burgers were cooked well. They were juicy & not dry at all. Very good flavor for both! I really liked the chipotle cheddar bacon burger. It was slightly sweet (maybe had a bit of maple syrup or honey?). Both burgers came with fries. The fried were your classic frites; reminiscent of McDonald's fries to us but less salty & crispier. Overall, I enjoyed it much more than I thought I would, since I'm not much of a chicken fan. I would for sure come back again, especially for their happy hour! Great deals & nice portion sizes.

The wait is usually 5-10 minutes, but at least the ordering system (pen and paper) means that I've never had an error with my sandwich. More fast moving places should do this I think. Walking through the front door is like walking through a secret portal to Italy (I'm not kidding). The smells and sights of fresh meat hanging from the ceiling is what I imagine heaven to be like! I ordered the Italian sub. First of all, it is HUGE in both length and circumference. One sub can easily be split between two people. The bread-to-meat ratio is perfect. I could taste each individual ingredient with every bite, which is a unique experience that only happens when everything is fresh and flavorful as can be. I think this place just ruined subs for me because no other will come close to being THIS good. If I were on death row, this sandwich would be part of my last meal. I feel like I cannot adequately put into words just how amazing it is. Do yourself a favor and check this place out sooner than later! :)

As the name "Mercato" implies, it's not a restaurant, so no place to eat, no place to "do your business" after, and if you've made it to the north end, you already know there's no place to park. -- Italian Sandwich: Long, soft bread, kinda like the kind you had in your school cafeteria, only a million times softer, a million times more crackly, and a million times better. Setting the base are oil, balsamic vinegar, lettuce, tomato, pickles, hots, and provolone. Italian sandwiches usually come flat-stacked or in a C-shape. Here, it's a fluffy stack, with the VERY-thin-sliced-to-order meats-- prosciutto, mortadella, salami-- piled generously but delicately, like tissue paper. More oil and balsamic on the other side seals the deal. It's a glorious sandwich that'll fill you up with the first half, but you'll want to keep eating the second half, because it's so good. The deep flavors of the meats comes through, and that's soft, crunchy bread is a delight. Pro tip #1: Get it with a small side of pesto. Have some bites with, some bites without. Pro tip #2 (in more ways than one): Plan your restroom visit at the nearby Boston Public Market.
