I'm so glad I discovered this place when I was in Northampton. The restaurant is fully vegan, with an amazing selection of options, from comfort foods like pizza, burgers, and mac 'n' cheese, to lighter fare like soups, salads, and bowls. I had the mac 'n' cheese, which was so creamy and delicious, topped with breadcrumbs and smoky BBQ tofu. For dessert I chose the berry cheesecake. It was incredible! It tasted exactly like real cheesecake, to the point that I got nervous and had to double check the menu to make sure that the restaurant was in fact vegan and not vegetarian. I came here with my husband and mother in law who both got burgers and really enjoyed them. This place is about an hour from where I live, but I'm making a special trip back here with a friend in a couple weeks because it was so good! read more

The food is decent for the most part. I didn't have the greatest luck with some of their smoothies. For Example their Piña Colada smoothie tasted off and really watered down, such as their others as well. The only smoothie that was alright was the Acai smoothie. I came here only because my mother is Vegan and I have been exposed to a lot of Vegan food options for the last 5+ years. As a non-vegan myself but yet still a food guru, I can't take away Pulse's effort to make their food enjoyable for everyone, meat eater or not. Wow, this place is phenomenal. Great flavors and portion sizes that don't leave you feeling ripped off. My first time at Pulse I got the Southern Comfort Bowl and it surpassed my expectations. I opted for the soy drumsticks and I still haven't stopped thinking about them, highly recommend. Next time around I got the All-American Burger and once again I couldn't believe how good the food was. First of all, what place do you know of that offers BOTH Beyond burgers and Impossible burgers?! PLUS they have their own house made patty. Having multiple options is such a rare treat, I'm not used to this level of plant-based pampering! I got my burger with a Beyond patty, the meal came with crispy potatoes and a pickle. I was pretty disappointed with the price of the food versus the amount and quality, I got a green juice and avocado toast for $18 including tip and was pretty shocked when I ordered and heard the price but felt bad about changing what I ordered to something else. One very thin piece of toast with a very thin smear of avocado that tasted like the pre-made guacamole at the supermarket (not even a whole avocado for the high price), I just kind of wished I had made breakfast for myself at home. Not perfect by any means, but it's a lovely space and the people are super. The menu is decent, Andy the store has a lot of good if expensive items. Beware the Hawaiian pizza, it is a barbecue pizza. The sweet potato nuggets are a bit soft, and the dressing is extremely spicy. Salad is good, it would be better if they cut the tomatoes. Amazing vegan restaurant and marketplace in Hadley! I was super excited to come here for dinner the first night I was in town for work. I was there on a Tuesday evening and it was a bit busy, but no wait to order food. I grabbed a drink from the cooler and ordered a small salad and the Mac and cheese with broccoli. The choices were delicious tough to make, with tacos being on special and so many other delicious sounding options. They gave me a number and I sat down at the bar seating facing the window. The food came out great, I would have liked a little more broccoli with the Mac and cheese for the extra charge but I was still happy with it overall. Plant-based perfection!!! I came for their brunch launch a few weeks ago and was thoroughly impressed. Pulse is truly one of a kind. It's not often you're greeted by signs displaying "no microwaves, no deep fryers". Pulse takes health to another dimension and still manages to execute flawless dishes loaded with flavor. Not to mention healthy! Farm to table flavorful heirloom tomato greatness. In our excitement we ordered about 2 entrees per person for our party of 3. I had the Soul Plate because I'm a sucker for a good biscuit and gravy and this didn't disappoint. The tofu scramble wasn't memorable, but it made for a complete dish. I sampled the sweet corn tamales which were divine as well as the chicken and waffles. Presentation is key, and they brought their A-game for the brunch launch. Also tried the turmeric latte, which is coconut milk based. I've never had any turmeric based drink so I didn't have a comparison, but I wasn't crazy about it. My mom loved it. I'll be trying the orzo coffee next time around. We knew it'd get busy, so we arrived early-ish around 10am and didn't wait long for our scrumptious food. As we were leaving, the crowd picked up dramatically, so I'm sure there were insane wait times as a result. I'm from out of state, but I've definitely considered driving up just for brunch. I think the place is over rated. It's almost like they are trying too hard. They were one of the first places to serve the impossible burger - long before Burger King jumped on the bandwagon. I actually eat and cook a lot of vegetarian/vegan. But when I do, I'm never trying to imitate meat. And I felt like this place was trying to hard to imitate meat. I ordered the spinach and mushroom calzone. Instead of a beautiful vegetable calzone, the mushrooms were finely diced and seasoned in an odd attempt to imitate ground beef. It was a bit of a put off. Especially when I was expecting beautiful mushrooms. And to top it off, the cashew mozzarella was disgusting. 8 of us went. It was nice that they reserved a table for us. Even though its order at the counter self serve seating. My second issue was that food was brought out as ready. Not sure why I hadn't been interested in coming here for years. I went yesterday and loved it so much that I decided to come back today to do work at the cafe. It's a beautiful setting and the food is so good! I ordered a delicious meal and sat down to do work. I had my first beyond burger in the form of their signature pulse burger--plant based patty (beyond or black bean), chedder cheese, carmelized onions, lettuce, tomato, garlic aioli in artisan bun. I am so in love with this place! The menu recently expanded, and everything on it is delicious. Honorable mention to their burger specials and the Thai noodle bowl (pictured). The dressing is perfectly flavored and the bowl is piled high with fresh veggies. I'm a student so was initially a little put off by the prices (~$15 for an entree) being higher than other "fast food" places but 1. This isn't fast food. It's high-end, nutrient-dense food priced affordably and accessibly 2. The portions are huge! One meal can easily be two 3. They have a student discount! 10%. The cafe also has a great atmosphere. There's a vegan and natural foods market with lots of great finds, tables and cozy chairs with ample outlets and strong WiFi available. I've been wanting to try Pulse for some time, their hours just never seemed to match up when I was in the area and hungry :-). It's a counter service place where you place your order, pay, and your food is brought out to you when ready. Everyone I that came into contact with that works there are super nice and helpful. My family and I were in a trip to Deerfield so I had to find a vegan place to eat on the way or while we were around Amherst/Hadley area. Pulse cafe is clean, very welcoming. Minimalist decor. It's calm and dim at night and bright and relaxing during the day. They have friendly staff and also cute grocery store set up in one area and dining on the other. I really like the setting. It's so much better than what I see in the Boston area. I've gotten tired of the city vegan places, because it's not as clean and they all cook the same usual stuff and don't use their creativity!! We got the Tex Mex Burger (with beyond meat) and the Pulse Burger. Both had good unique taste. I love that they weren't dry burgers, just a perfect amount of sauce, a cheese that melts!!!, GF option for buns. The presentation overall was fantastic and they didn't take long to make it. I really used to love Pulse. While it is expensive, I completely understand why. They serve great quality food and amazing juices/smoothies. I recently came here to order lunch and do some work and they do not offer WiFi anymore. I am not going to lie, this is extremely upsetting. I feel like I spend a lot of money here and the fact they do not even offer WiFi to their customers, like every other cafe in the area does, seems stuck up. They offer a free 30 min trial for spectrum WiFi, which is honestly like a slap in the face. I am afraid I will have to stop going if there is no longer WiFi offered. I've been coming to Pulse Cafe since they opened and am very glad that this option exists in the area. As a vegan, knowing that I can order anything with certainty is a big bonus. Brunch is a treat, I often get the breakfast burrito as a brown rice bowl and it's delicious! Sometime they forget to being the side of roasted potatoes that comes with the meal so now I always ask when it arrives. The hot sauce varies in heat but is a solid addition to the meal. I've had several different meals there and since along with vegan I look for gluten-free I'm happy to find many options available. Especially finding that they have GF flatbread that I can have when I get the shawarma. Yum! The ambiance is comfortable and at times live music accompanies the experience. My love and I stopped at Pulse Cafe for a highly anticipated bite as it was enroute to home from a camping weekend in Vermont. We were hungry and had a drive ahead of us, so were hoping for a satiating meal that would power us home. We were pleased to go on a Sunday when Pulse offers brunch. The space is neat. It's a hybrid cafe/market with a comfortable feel to it. They have an outdoor seating area, but it was raining when we went, so though we would have preferred to eat outdoors, we ate inside. The table set-ups inside were kind of strange. There were only two tables for two. The rest were for 6 people and up, so if you're going with a partner and the tables for two are taken, you're sharing a table with other diners which felt a bit crowded. As far as the food went, we weren't disappointed. We shared a plate of garlic knots with cheese and jalapeno, and each got one of two calzones on the menu. I got the Crimini and my dear got the Roasted Eggplant. The knots were great! They were perfectly cooked with the right amount of cheese and a hot bit of jalapeno stuffed in the middle of each, served with a side of marinara. The calzones were huge which didn't stop us from eating them all because they were so delicious. They were split in half so we were each able to try them both. The Texture of the mushrooms in the Crimini was spot on and paired perfectly with the spinach. The sauce in both (we were also each served with side cup of sauce) was a classic marinara. The cheese in the Crimini calzone was an excellent rendition of mozzarella. Though the Crimini was delicious, we both preferred the Roasted Eggplant mainly because the smokiness of the eggplant paired so well with the basil leaves and the convincing version of ricotta inside. For drinks I had the Turmeric Latte, unsweetened, and it was so rich and soothing. My love got the Strawberry, Mango, Banana Smoothie which I tried. It was creamy, refreshing and sweet, but not too sweet. All in all we had a great experience at Pulse Cafe and would definitely return to sample their Weekday Menu. read more

It's 100% vegan, has a market with boxed and frozen vegan items along with the restaurant cafe. They have indoor and outdoor dining. You order at the counter and everything is made fresh to order. There are bakery items which are not listed on the menu and juices and smoothies as well. We went on Mother's Day not the best day to judge a restaurant but this one was running like a well oiled machine. We placed our order to go. I saw they had vegan calzones had to give it a try had the crimini mushroom calzone. Perfectly cooked filled with mushrooms, spinach and wonderful cashew cheese. My husband had the house made black bean burger which comes with a choice of white or sweet roasted potatoes. Absolutely delicious! They offer a choice of three different patties house made black bean, impossible or beyond. I did mention there was a bakery section...the carrot cake was awesome! Not sure how they managed to get that cream cheese like tang in the frosting but they did. We will be back. Great place to stop if you are driving through MA on 91 just 5 minutes off exit 25.
