Classic, simple menu with an extensive local beer, wine, and cider list; friendly, easy-going service, but the view of the River along the mill make this a forever return. I enjoyed the special sandwich - kielbasa, cheddar, saurkraut, and a little whole grain mustard on grilled sourdough. I also nabbed a cold peanut udon noodle situation for my drive later. Love a morning spent in the stacks at the bookmill followed by lunch and a bev at lady killigrew. A western Mass weekend staple.

Found this place close by to a concert we were going to at Montague Retreat Center. Unfamiliar and in the middle of nowhere where, The Lady Killigrew Cafe was a blessing! Timing was great as they close their kitchen at 8pm so we got there around 7:40 with just enough time to grab a bite. Cute and quaint, right near the flowing waters - I wish I got to see this place in the sunlight! The tunes here are great, I was dancing immediately. The staff here is sweet and the space itself is so fascinating! Has a cute charm throughout all the way down to the bookshop. I ordered the Number 1 sandwich. It was flavorful and just right to warm up my stomach. The salad was fresh and unique! Tasty stuff that had me perfectly satisfied.

When you're at the Montague Bookmill, this is a must stop. Seating inside and outside with a gorgeous view of the river. Food is extremely fresh and oh so good. We've only been there for lunch and the sandwiches are amazing. My son recently had the brie, apple and apricot jam and it was grilled to perfection, served with a delightful side salad. 10/10 strongly recommend!

I stumbled across this place on the long drive home after hiking the Mohawk State Trail, it was definitely off the main road but it is the definition of a hidden gem. The food was fresh and delicious, but the view was definitely a highlight of this visit. We ate right over a waterfall with the sound of water complimenting our whole meal. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone driving through.

This was such a great find! My girlfriend and I went here to go to the Book Mill and ended up eating at this adorable little cafe! The food was delicious, even though it was busy it was definitely a manageable noise level! The roaring river along the side was so beautiful, it was an amazing meal and such a great atmosphere :)

Located next to the Montague Book mill, this cafe has such a charming location! We sat outside with a beautiful view of the bookmill. The inside is quite nice and quaint as well; it's definitely a place where I'd like to drink a nice cold tea while looking paging through a novel. The menu is quite short and simple but the food is delicious. I got peanut noodles and my friends got ham sandwiches. The peanut ginger udon was delicious but I'm not rly sure why they call it udon because it is not udon! There was slightly too much ginger for me. I wasn't the biggest fan of the curried chicken because I was not used to the sticky texture. The sandwiches were yummy! My only complaint is that the food took sooo long to arrive. We waited maybe 40 mins for 3 dishes. Granted, it was quite a busy day for them, so we didn't mind as much.

How about fudge, white chocolate, barks, clusters, pops, and sugar free chocolates. We paid $38.22 for a bagful of goodies - 2 boxes of hand picked chocolates (sugar free and high test), a piece of bark, a chocolate bar, and two turkey shaped chocolate pops for the grand kiddos. A small gift bag of nonpareils was  tossed in gratis. The store is quite large, so walking around and checking out the goods is quite a fun experience. The only disappointment we had was that their chocolate apple season just ended the week before.

They also have a bunch of other goodies for sale in their farm store. That being said, BBQ! I very randomly stumbled upon this place while attempting to get lost in the middle of Massachusetts one day. And I stopped in and grabbed a frozen pie to go and heard about this amazing cook out they do every other Monday from like June through August? Maybe September? Gotta check the schedule anyway. So you can go online to their website, click on the Smokehouse Dinners, chose one of their meal plans ( I believe it's Ribs, Chicken, Sausage, .... and one more thing, let me check ... OMG! They changed the Menu!!! Now it's a choice between Ribs, Chicken, BRISKET! OR A TURKEY LEG!?!?! I have To Go BACK NOW!!!) and they come with a cube cut of Awesome homemade corn bread (the ones with the kernels still juicy in the bread!) slice of watermelon, and all you can drink Ice tea and Lemonade, and your choice of 2 sides. Mac and Cheese (good old how grandma use to make it style!) Corn on the cob (oh yes!) I think they had a celery salad and a potato salad maybe? But now they offer roasted butternut squash! I loved my ribs, they weren't as big as I'm use to but they were cooked perfectly. I can tell a lot of love went into the smoking process. My partner had the chicken, it was a 1/2 smoked chicken smoked to perfection as well. So, this place is just a real gem of a place. It's almost like even though you bought a $20 ticket to be there, it feels a hell of a lot more like your friendly neighbors sent you an invitation to their fun backyard BBQ. They had a local string band playing traditional Irish and American tunes. We were all under a canopy tent with picnic tables. We chilled for awhile listening to the music, meeting the locals, watching the sunset over the mountains and all their cows in the fields, just sippin on some cool iced tea and lemonades while they put the finishing touches on the food. I was kinda disappointed they didn't have someone ringing a triangle when the food was ready. And afterwards they had Barts Ice Cream selling small little cups of only 3 of their flavors, I think $4 a cup? It was a very small portion and only 3 flavors, but I guess we were lucky to have even that, It's just one person who has to drag a cart all the way behind the house. You can go inside the farm store and they have some baked goods and some ice cream sandwiches and other yummy things. They brought they're pony or donkey out to say hi to everyone. All their cows came right up to the fence and started eating the piles of corn husks and we got to feed them and pet them too. It was just such a great evening with good people and such a small town welcoming kindness that's getting harder and harder to find now a days. Love the place, love the food, love the people. Awesome!!!
