"Half-baked cookies in the oven Half-baked people on the…read morebus" (Jimmy Buffet) Wandering around Shelburne Falls, we decided to stop somewhere for a coffee or a snack. We ended up finding both at Baked. When we walked in, we saw a few big bakery cases filled with pastries, muffins, and all sorts of baked goods. A little further into the space, we saw a reception stand for their full service, sit-down restaurant. We just wanted a beverage and a bakery treat, so that meant we couldn't sit in the restaurant, but luckily, we grabbed the only table in front of the bakery cases. It was quite a chore narrowing down our order from their many drinks and baked goods, but eventually we decided on a Cold Vanilla Blueberry Latte ($6), a Hot Banana Bread Latte ($5), a Macaroon ($3.75), and an Orange Cranberry Scone ($4). The cold latte and scone were mine and I enjoyed both a lot. The latte had great blueberry flavor and the scone was fantastic. We shared the baked treats, and the macaroon was great too, with plenty of chocolate chips, and a freshly made gooey consistency. We both noted how fresh everything was. All in all, their quality, prices and value were excellent. Well done, Baked... we loved our visit.

Everyone we encountered was very kind. The food was ETHEREAL. I think it about it a lot. I'd love to take my family here when they fly into town.

They initially said it would be a 45 minute wait, but it actually turned out to be less than 10 minutes. We were greeted by a very lovely, smiling and upbeat young lady who took us to our table for 2, which was wick followed by our equally lovely waitress. The food was excellent and the syrup of course was perfect. We enjoyed seeing the young families and couples all sharing large family style tables and enjoying the moment. Quick tip: get there around 10AM after the rush and you should get a table pretty quickly! The ride up to the farm is fun and provides an excuse to drive into the hills that you may not venture into otherwise. If you haven't done it before, please go and treat yourself and your family, if like me you haven't been back in quite sometime, GO because I regret missing past years of treating ourselves to this experience. I went to The Starving Artist recently and honestly had a terrible time. I waited around 20 minutes…read morefor my food, and when it finally came out it was cold, like it had been sitting there forever. On top of that, I asked twice for my plain black iced coffee, and it didn't show up until after I finished eating, which kind of defeated the purpose of ordering it. It genuinely felt like the staff was more focused on chatting with each other than taking care of customers. The vibe from the employees was also not great. When I mentioned I was vegetarian, I got a reaction that felt really judgmental and dismissive, which made me uncomfortable. When I asked for the Wi-Fi, I got hit with a snarky, "Do you not see the sign?" while they pointed at something completely hidden. The whole thing came off as really passive-aggressive. Overall, the service felt rude and unwelcoming, the food was cold, and the drink situation was just annoying. I left feeling like I had spent money just to be treated poorly. I've actually given this place a few chances, because I do like the aesthetics, but the food and service are just not good. The food is bland, and I don't feel like paying $20 for something that tastes like cardboard. ALSO I ordered a kale salad and the kale wasn't even massaged. It was just straight up kale dressing and a few pumpkin seeds. This was $17 by the way.

Most recently my husband and I split a turkey club crepe, French onion crepe and seasonal strawberry rhubarb crepe. All brilliant. 2 years ago when we came through we had the French toast breakfast crepe (which included eggs and bacon inside it) which I still think about because it was delicious, but so confusing that those flavors were so good together. The little salad given with the lunch crepes is appreciated too. This spot is usually pretty busy. You order at the counter, take a number and sit. They have a fridge of tap water carafes you can grab for your table and they will bring the kitchen items out to you. Sometimes there's an in shop singer. It's a nice space with flowers, art and local interest items as decor. The only uncomfortable moment is it bottlenecks a lot by the order counter and can be crowded there.
