The Publix at the Winter Springs Town Center at one time was great, but they have been sliding down hill for quite some time in my opinion. The staff is still very friendly, courteous and helpful; however, over the years their produce is hit and miss with regard to offering FRESH vegetables. I couldn't tell you how many times I purchased produce and had it going bad in just a couple of days, and had to return it. They are notorious for discontinuing great products and claiming they don't sell enough, but they have a wide variety of weird food that never gets discontinued and items I would never buy. Their meat prices are outrageous! Now, I must say their buy one, get one deals are wonderful! They have a great deli. The seafood department is just ok. My husband and I have been to many different Publix locations, which by far, is way better than the one at the Winter Springs Town Center. Oh, by the way, the name town center is a joke! It's just a glorified shopping center and the parking is atrocious! This location is very convenient for us as we are only about two and a half miles away. We'll stop in for some bread, milk, eggs, check out the bogos, but here is a good example of their outrageous meat prices. Both Publix and Aldi's sell Perdu ground chicken. Same weight, same packaging, but Publix sells it at a much higher price than Aldi's! The same goes for many other items that Publix sells, and Aldi beats their price. At Publix, their ground chuck is anywhere from $5 a pound and up. At The Fresh Market at Tuskawilla Rd and Red Bug Lake Rd, you can buy great ground chuck EVERY Tuesday for $3.99 a pound. You can also buy beautiful chicken breast every Tuesday for $3.99 a pound. Well, I could go on and on so I'll end it here. Not all Publix stores are great. read more

They say shopping is a pleasure and I agree. This location is clean, welcoming, and the staff is helpful if you need something, or if you hint that you may need something. The last time I went they went above and beyond to see if they had something stocked in the back that I was looking for. I looked for the French Onion pizza this time and it wasn't available but this funky looking cheeseburger pizza was available so I got a pic. Coming from New Jersey, a state known for their great subs, in a way it hurts me to state that a supermarket has some of the best subs in the area. But it is also a 100% true statement. Publix subs are very good. My go-to sub is probably their Italian sub, which is truly a tasty offering. I also enjoy their roast beef and cheese sub. I would definitely recommend upgrading it by using Boar's Head meat. It is definitely worth the small upcharge. It is great to see Publix expanding beyond the boundaries of their home state of Florida and spreading throughout the southeast. Not only am I happy about it, but I am confident that the communities that Publix opens a location in are very grateful for a Publix opening by them. I love everything about Publix and since it's close to my house that's my excuse to not go to the other grocery store I despise, lol. Everyone I've encountered is super friendly and always willing to help. Hersh is my favorite at the deli. My BF and I always strike up a funny conversation with him. I try and go during the week because on the weekends this place is packed, but they handle the crowds well. If there is ever an issue where you're charged full price instead of sale, they'll refund your whole purchase. I also thoroughly enjoy the free cookies and samples of deli meat, lol. read more

2017's Yelp 100 Challenge 32/100 If you come to the south, and not the south, south like Georgia, Alabama, or Louisiana. I mean the South East, ya know, Florida, you are destined to find a Publix. The one thing I pointed out to my boyfriend is that all Publixs ('s)? Seem to only be in the "I got to bikram thrice per week & only feed my cat food absent grain" type areas. You know, the Sohos of the world. But I digress, if you want good food, beautiful locations, and VERY friendly service, you head to Publix, no question. The only downfall to any of these stores is they always seem like half of a store. Like they wanted to be a big supermarket, but they didn't want to overwhelm anyone shopping. And that's its best and worst quality, sometimes you'll be in and out with exactly what you need, sometimes you'll have to shop somewhere else. This Publix was perfectly lit, not busy, and the cashiers were super helpful in assisting me. I was trying to locate some cat toys for my 4 cats (not a crazy cat lady, see "boyfriend" above"), and this store actually had a decent supply of toys they'd love. I ended up spending a lot more time checking out the types of treats and foods they offered, and left the store very satisfied. We ordered the pre made meal for thanksgiving. The day we went to pick it up at the time we were to pick it up they did not have it ready. We waited over 20 minutes for them to prepare it for us. The day of thanksgiving we realized they forgot to put the glaze packet for the ham! The food that they prepared was also not very good at all. Definitely a waste of my $45. read more

One of the worst designed shopping plazas I have ever seen. You'd expect to have to park a bit further on a weekend but I did not expect every single spot to be full and 10 cars at any given moment fighting for people to leave. I spent longer trying to find a space here than I ever have at Trader Joe's in Winter Park. The lot is way too small for a Publix. Inside is not much better. Square footage seems smaller than an average Publix yet they insist on cramming the small aisles full of displays making it even more difficult to navigate. Thankfully this is not my local Publix so will avoid coming here again at all costs. read more

As always, a lovely Publix store. Great customer service, as always. I want to say there is a bit of selection lacking here due to the fact that this Publix is a bit "smaller" than most. There have been some ethnic items I have wanted to use in recipes that I cannot find here. Also, I HATE the fact that this Publix has to be located in the worst "town center" EVER. Parking on a weekend? Say a prayer. Oh. And for some weird reason they always seem to be out of small sized cups when I go to get a fountain drink. So weird. Normally I love this store. But tonight (1/8/2020), right before closing, the male night manager said right in front of me that his customers don't have any common sense. And he was speaking about he me. He made that statement in response to a question/comment his cashier made on my behalf. And I wasn't even mad or complaining. I discovered this Publix that isn't too far from me while driving to another store. I stopped in and was impressed. I went to the customer service counter because they were out of something on sale and instead of a rain check she went out of her way to have someone see if there was any in the back. There was and I was able to get the item I was looking for without needing a rain check or making a separate trip. Excellent customer service. I also lucked out and found a parking spot right away but I can see how at peak times parking might be difficult. The store was clean and bright. As with other local Publix locations there were tons of BOGO's. The deli section looked neat and of course they have pub subs. The meat section was also well stocked which is really nice. It's nice to know that this location is out there and that it's a nice place to shop. read more

I come here a lot for Instacart shopping. It has a nearly identical layout to the Publix on Rinehart Road, which makes it really easy to find most things (there are a few items that are in different aisles, though). Store is big, but I've seen bigger. Seems to be one of the cleaner stores I can recall being at. The produce section seems to be a tad bigger than the average publix (or maybe it just has more space?). Front end is usually on point. After 8pm the lines start to get long. My only major complaint about this place would be that trying to get in and out of the parking lot can be a major PITA. The light on Bear Springs Drive doesn't take you into Publix directly. You either have to go around the back, or slither through this narrow parking lot for the small businesses on the side. That's terrible engineering. She always notices if one kid isn't with us and makes sure to pack a cookie to go for them. Always well staffed, quick and efficient, full of people asking to help. Just like all Publix's this is another location, friendly staff , great prices and clean stores. I came in here to buy a few things sense I was in the neighborhood and I was able to find everything I was looking for and was able to use it for my recipe at home. This location is great because you can grave a bite to eat here or around the plaza with many business located within , this location is located in the Winter Springs Town Center right of 434. Really clean, organized, helpful and really close to my house! You feel at home shopping here. Publix is one of my favorite places to use coupons as well. The only reason I would give this Publix 3 stars is because it lacks in the flower department as compared to other Publix. However, other than that minor detail, the supermarket is clean and compared to other supermarkets in the area is a newer Publix. Good decor, wide aisles and overall nice feel. I was extremely disappointed with my deli visit today at this Publix location. I am a frequent Publix grocery shopper but decided to order a sub for the first time on the Publix app for pick-up between a busy day of seeing patients and on the road. I arrived about fifteen minutes earlier than my scheduled pick-up time. I stood in front of the pick-up area for about ten minutes and in spite of making eye contact with the employee standing right in front of me, I was not asked once if I needed help with anything or asked if I was picking up an item. Not once was I acknowledged. I looked over to the staff at the sub station and made eye contact with almost every single employee as they helped other customers and not once did anyone ask me if they could help in any way. I finally decided to ask the employee which had been ignoring my presence and standing in front of me setting out the hot foods if he was able to check to see if my order went through online. He asked me for my name, walked over to the other side of the deli, walked back over to me and told me that my order was not due to come up until 5:20pm. At this time it was 5:15, he did not alert any of the deli staff that I was there early to pick up my sub. He told me that I would have to wait until my time came up. I counted at least 5 new customers ordering subs after I had arrived at the pick-up area so I was confused as to why I was ignored and not helped. I attempted to move over and get in line with the rest of the customers but at this time I was already too frustrated to even wait to place a new order or to ask for my online order to be prepared. I decided to ask the same gentleman to please cancel my order. He did not apologize or acknowledge that this was terrible customer service after I explained to him that it truly did not make sense that I stood there for twenty minutes after my arrival and was not helped in any way. This is the first time ever that I have anything bad to say about Publix since my experience has always been great. I have always loved the amazing customer service consistency in all of your stores. This Publix employee fell short in representing great customer service at Publix. read more

I would give this Publix a 1 star except that their customer service is so fantastic. The problem with this Publix though is EXPIRED FOOD on the shelves. You have to check every damn date on every item or you end up with half a fridge of already expired things. I don't mean the things that usually expire like veggies, dairy, and meat... It's the stuff like spaghetti sauce, salad dressing, tortilla chips and velvetta-- you know the basics that should never go bad. I've several times bought items that were over 3 months expired. Their customer service is awesome and they always take it back with no questions asked, but it's still frustrating. There's a real issue with the stocking there... read more

This is smaller Publix that the others in the area. Nice store, fairly clean. Lacking many of the items available in larger stores, but ok for staples. However, make sure you check the expiration dates one EVERYTHING!!! I saw several items out of date on the shelves. Frozen orange juice was the worst. Several of the cans were smashed, cut, and leaking all over. The few that I found in good shape were over a month beyond their expiration date. I went to the "Customer Service" desk and was ignored by a manager having a personal conversation with a woman. I told the young man who eventually came over to me about the orange juice, and this seemed to confuse him and the guy he told to go check it out as they both kept asking me if I wanted to buy it. YUK!!! Why would you buy expired juice? This is now the second time I've tried to buy Minute Maid frozen juice at this store and both times the juice was expired.
