I haven't been on a weekday, but entering on a Saturday morning had no traffic entering or exiting. --Ambience-- Similar to all other Publix, which is well clean and organized. Some Publix can run on the dirty side, but this was one of the cleanest stores in the area. --Service/Staff-- Staff can vary per store, no issues with the staff. --Products/Service-- I wish Publix had more sales and this is the downfall that their prices are getting up there or surpassing Whole Foods. Some of the items list a combo sale of buying more than one or a BOGO, but there is no price stated on the shelf. --Capacity-- Indoor capacity can hold 200+ people. Normal size supermarket store layout. --Overall-- Recommended if you are looking for specialty items or ingredients or high quality seafood and meats, but I don't recommend the supermarket as your weekly or monthly shopping because of the high prices. read more

I was staying with a friend in Alpharetta,GA and had to go to Publix down the street to pick up some avocados for a dinner party and some other groceries for the week. I have always loved Publix and their selection of produce and products. The buy one get one free specials are the best and help me stock up when I need to for groceries. I do wish they had a Publix in Indiana, because my life would be so much easier and less hectic trying to find the particular products I need for my pantry. The staff are wonderful and always willing to lend a helping hand when you need it. Plus it is very easy to navigate around the store. Publix is the best grocery store around and I hope we get one in Indianapolis, Indiana very soon. People will flock to the Publix in Indianapolis. read more

Had to run in and run out with something quick to take home for dinner. I picked from a ragtag selection of limited and sitting fried chicken . . . yes, I know, fried chicken is not the best choice, but I haven't had any in quite a while and could get it off my mind as I entered the deli area. I went with a thigh, leg and breast. The nice lady behind the counter noticed the pickings were scraggly and old. She she said she'd go in the back to get three fresh pieces, but first saying they have an eight piece special for $9.99. I said, "No thanks" as it is just for me an my wife. She came back out with three fresh and delicious looking pieces, put it on the scale and pointed out it was going to cost me $6.69 reminding me I could get eight pieces for $9.99, only $3.30 more for almost triple the pieces. It made me think, "Who doesn't like cold fried chicken for a snack or even meal the next day.? Plus its Publix fried chicken! I went with the eight piece special. Truly appreciate the employee looking out for me and taking an interest. Unfortunately, this is not the closes Publix to where I live. I just happened to be passing by this one on the way home. I wish it was closer because the two closer ones to me would never take the time or interest in me. I very much recommend this particular Publix! read more

I've been coming to this Publix for over 20 years and have a great time. Their fresh/hot food is made daily and refilled. The pub subs are made and packed to your fulfillment. Can never go wrong with grabbing a pastry or treat from the bakery. There is plenty of parking in front of Publix and easy to find within the plaza. read more

Just looooove Publix! Not so much for their overall pricing and selections, but for their People!! Today, Diane simply made our day. We went to the deli for some delectable Boars Head meats. She was so pleasant, courteous and professional, we went from just getting some cold cuts to having fun, cracking jokes and enjoying each other's company and it was all so genuine. We used to shop at the Kroger down the street (for 30 years), but it has gone downhill lately: staff seems unhappy all the time, all their meats look awful, the decaying stink in the store has been there for at least 3 years.... comparatively, Publix' meat department looks fresh, the meats look so appetizing, the butchers are always there to answer questions... and so on and so forth! Love coming to Publix! The Publix team is great! They are friendly and helpful. It's like the Chick Fil A hospitality of grocery stores. This location like many of the others is always well stocked and organized. The place is super clean. I especially enjoy coming to this location because it's right off Old Milton Parkway (what used to be State Bridge Rd for all your Alpharettians). This location seems bigger than some of the other stores. This Publix store also has a cooking lesson facility. Calendar is available of all the different sessions that you can sign up for. They have some of the best chicken wings at a grocery store in my opinion. Also, Publix subs are good too! You can even as for Boar Heads meat in yours. Keep up the awesome work, Publix! read more

This review is specifically for the bakery. Back in April, I called the bakery about having a gender-reveal cake made. This being a somewhat newer trend, the woman I spoke with was unfamiliar with the concept, but she quickly understood my description of what we wanted to do and was incredibly excited to help us learn our baby's gender in such a cute fashion. (Basically, you have an ultrasound done but the technician keeps the baby's gender a secret from the parents, putting the answer in an envelope. Then you take the envelope to a bakery and have a cake made with either blue or pink icing on the inside only. Mom, Dad, and anyone else who is present learn baby's gender when they cut into the cake.) The woman I spoke with took down the directions and said she would explain them in detail to the bakery staff. When my husband and I took our envelope to the bakery a few days later, the staff was clearly excited about making the cake and I didn't have to explain the process all over again. I also didn't have a particular design in mind and just told them to incorporate gender-neutral colors on the outside. Of course I was nervous when we went to pick up the cake later that day, fearing that something might have been misunderstood and that the baby's gender would somehow be revealed to us on the outside of the cake. But the cake looked perfect, and we didn't know until we cut into it that we were having a boy! It was a truly delicious way to learn the news. So if you are looking for a bakery to pull off a gender reveal cake, I recommend using the one at this Publix. Just be very explicit about the directions. read more

I was actually eating at Madras Chettinaad next door and decided to go to this Publix after to pick up a few items due to a never ending grocery list. The employees warmly greeted me, checked in the back if an item I noticed was out was in stock (sadly it wasn't but I got it in a smaller size), and were just pleasant and cordial. Bonus: the cart seemed new and glided along like an ice skater. This Publix is pretty large, clean, and well-lit. Its layout wasn't like the Publixes I'm used to so it took a second to get oriented, but no biggie. Recommended. read more

A colleague and a fellow Yelper independently raved about Publix sandwiches. I had to check it out. So I did... Publix' deli has a reasonable selection of both hot and cold, including a Cuban, which I opted for. After one worker went away to cut the meat (that's a good sign...not presliced, in wax paper...hint hint), I asked if they iron the bread [the way an authentic Cuban should be]. After a quizzical look I was told the sandwich was [merely] heated. Then, I was asked what kind of bread I wanted it on. Whoa! Uhhhhh, no!! And that's the only reason I'm not giving Publix' deli five stars. People, people, people!! If you're going to put an item on the menu that has a distinct recipe, and method of preparation that defines it, you have GOT to do it that way. This reminds me of a hilarious episode with good friend Dr. Jim Palmer (yo yo Jimmy!) at Morimoto in Philadelphia, when one of their lithe, black-clad servers offered "Kobe beef from Australia" as a special. What ensued was a one-sided debate about how Kobe beef was from one place and one place only, and that's Kobe, Japan (and there was a James Bond reference thrown in for good measure), where the livestock are fed beer, and rubbed down with beer, etc., etc., etc., and that Kobe beef could NEVER be from Australia. It might be Kobe "style" beef... You get my point. Anyway, I digress. The sandwich was delicious and filling and at a reasonable price. But it was not a Cuban. I'm going to return and try other menu offerings. I was intrigued by their "salad sandwiches": tuna, egg...and so on. I'm probably the last person in the area code to know about Publix sandwiches, but in case this is all news to you, please give 'em a try. read more

I have no idea what the management here is doing, but there is a line at their Deli counter no matter what time of day you come in. It's pouring down rain outside in the middle of an afternoon and I am 5th in line at the deli. Two guys working. I'm giving up on this Publix. Johns Creek only. It is definitely a management issue. I love this Publix. Even though there are several within a 6 mile radius, this one is my go to. I remember when it was an A&P an eternity ago, but since it opened I've been here at least twice a week. Too bad I didn't start Yelp check-ins until a few days ago. Then again, you all would see that I've been here a gazillion times and that might not be a good look. Because this was an existing store before Publix, the footprint is larger than most other Publix stores and the layout is a little different. There is a really cool looking cooking school in here that I've been meaning to try for the last 15 years....I'll do it one day. The store is always neat and clean with the friendliest staff. I can always find whatever I need and a few times they have special ordered items for me. It's in a great location with easy access all around. read more

This store is almost enough to make me want to live in the suburbs. For a Publix Lover like myself, this place is pure nirvana. I was in the neighborhood visiting a one of our properties nearby and I came by to pick-up something for lunch. Well, I came to the right place. Unlike their intown locations, this Publix is gigantic! There is a large deli with lots of freshly made chicken, fish, and tasty sides. They do so much business in the deli during lunch that there are some tables set-up and a separate cash register so you don't have to wait in line with the people buying groceries. After I got my popcorn buffalo chicken I walked around to see what else I could find. Even though I wasn't specifically looking for something, I got the feeling that if I wanted it - they had it. Okay, so what just happened?! I am a bit baffled by the "experience" I just had! I typically shop at Kroger and this weird experience confirms why! It also confirms that I will never return to this Publix! I was In a bit of a rush, as I was trying to beat the rain storm that was quickly approaching. I finished my shopping and was happy to find a checkout line with no customers in front of me! Excited and feeling lucky, I proceeded to "begin" unloading my cart ... That is, until my arms were full of products but I noticed that Stephen, the cashier, was fervently spraying his conveyor belt with a wet chemical cleansing spray. Despite my presence in front of him with my arms full, Stephen never acknowledged my presence and continued spraying and spraying, and spraying, and ... Spraying ... until I politely asked him to please stop spraying so I could put my groceries on the belt. I explained I have a bad back. He ignored me!!! I gave him the benefit of the doubt, taking into consideration that he may not have heard me. I waited a couple more minutes, then caught his eye and repeated myself. I was not unkind, rude, or demanding in any way. Stephen looked at me and proceeded to continue spraying the belt!!!! What?? Confused, I tried explaining that I really needed to put my groceries down as my back was hurting. I also stated I preferred "dry" belts as I had some packaged and boxed items that would get wet if he continued spraying. Still, Stephen continued spraying the belt! Finally, frustrated and more so, confused, I asked one more time that he please check me out so I could leave before the rain storm. Stephen exclaimed, "well you're just going to have to WAIT until I finish spraying!" Stephen sprayed more chemicals and ignored me. In disbelief, I found a manager and asked whether this was typical of his cashiers. Tom was extremely friendly and assisted me by checking me out immediately. He apologized on behalf of his cashier. All I can say is that we all have bad days. I get it. We are human. However when at the front line representing your company and shareholders it is crucial to leave the "other stuff" behind and acknowledge the customer. I always get the best customer service, staff are nice and friendly and the sales and shelves are very organized. there is always someone to help you find items, and will even go in the back to search for them. If they do not have that item they will give rain checks or the same thing in better brands for the same price even if the item you were looking for was on sale. NOW WHERE IS THAT COOKIE! I entered this store looking for that delicious Calypso cookie that I purchased at the store in Marietta a few weeks ago. This was my first visit here so I did not know what to expect. Although cookies and donuts were still available, they did not have the elusive Calypso cookie. I was actually surprised to see that they still had fried chicken available at 7pm. It still looked as if it had possibilities and so I ordered some of the wings. I prefer to get my wings at the grocery hot bars because I prefer a whole wing to wing pieces. The wings at my neighborhood Publix are very salty and so I avoid them and wanted to explore a new option. I sampled the breaded and the unbreaded wing and neither was salty. They both seemed to be a bit past their prime, (as far as freshness goes), but were still edible. The batter on the breaded wing was a bit heavy and it tasted as if it had been prepared in a heavy oil, which I don't like. The unbreaded wing was described as spicy, but had absolutely no spice at all. Chicken is simply at its best when it is fresh, so I make a point of knowing when the last batch is likely to be ready at my local Kroger's so that I can get it when it is fresh and delicious! Trust me, it is worth the call! I appreciated that this store was still fully functioning at 7pm. My local stores seem to start shutting down at 6pm when they clear the hot bar and package up the bakery items in bulk. This is so not cool because many people are just getting home from work. I would love to return and experience more of this store but that chicken needs a little work. read more

After going so long without a Publix in my life (living in Asheville, NC) you learn to appreciate the neatly stocked aisles that are culturally diverse in offerings, the super friendly attendants in the deli, bakery and meat departments and the choices of fresh, ripe fruits and vegetables, gluten-free and truly organic products! Big fan of this Publix near my work. When I don't bring my lunch, I'll come in and grab something from the deli. In the winter I'll get a cup of their chili. With the weather warming up, their salad is a great treat for you to build whatever kind of salad you want. read more

Once I went to this Publix the one in west end seemed like a dump. We live relatively close to this store, so we are there often. It's always clean, organized and I love the selection of organic produce. The staff has always been friendly and helpful.
