My storage unit was robbed They have no video cameras on the grounds. The front gate does not close. A phillip head screw driver and metal cutters is all that is needed to open the unit. Thieves do not need to remove the locks in order to gain access. Only one utility cart. standing water in the hallways, rusted roofs, icy hill inclines. Do not use public storage. Your contents will be stolen and you are at risk of being mugged. Please do not try to bribe me to remove this post. I have items that do not belong to me in my unit. Please check your units in building 151 thru 156 ect. I would like to return these items. Public storage staff wants to throw them in the trash. Please file a police report for stolen items asap read more

Small unit. Starting price was $36 for a 5X5. Then every 6 months they raise the rates, nit by just a few buckes either...like 25% each time. Fortunately, I can move my stuff out easily, so that's what i am doing. No way I am paying $88 for a small unit like that. read more

meh. first day that I had the rental the code didn't work. That took about an hour to get resolved. Next if you don't mind swerving to avoid two giant potholes in their entranceway as your truck is loaded with stuff then you might like this place. I just moved to St. Louis and needed a place to store my random goods so I went online and found Public Storage. It was sooo easy....I went to their website, found the one that was closest to me, and then chose the space using their online tool. Perfect! I then reserved it and, I kid you not, received a call like a minute later confirming that I had made a reservation and told they were waiting for me. :) When I got there, AJ (the guy that works there) got me signed up quickly, took me to my unit, and I unloaded. The whole process took under an hour (Paperwork and unloading a whole van!) Afterwards, I went next door and had some frozen custard...as a reward to myself...lol. Finally, a week later, I get a phone call from Cassy asking if my move went well and if they met my needs. Geesh! Talk about great customer service. Love the customer service, I definitely would rent from them again. Before you go, know that you can bring your own lock or you will be charged $18 for one of theirs and that you *have* to purchase insurance through them...I got the cheapest one for $9/month. This was the first time I've ever had to rent a storage unit. Andrea was friendly, accommodating and patient with all of my questions. I had to change the time to complete the paperwork a few times and she never once made me feel like I was a bother. The space is nice and I feel like the contents of the unit are safe. Public Storage kept raising the rates, people were very hard nosed. Their policies were very unfavorable to the customers. I found another storage facility (Storage Inn) where the unit was larger and over 30% cheaper and not the burdensome rules and employees were much friendlier and cooperative. read more

My wife and I are in the processs of stagIng our home to sell. Public Storage had a great online rate, so I went with it. While at the office to sign the rental agreement, I was approached by a customer whose unit was just broken in to. She was extremely worked up, so it was hard to understand the exact details of what had happened. Since I wasn't planning on renting for long, and I wasn't storing anything too valuable, I went ahead with the agreement. As the rental employee and I walked back to see the unit, she assured me that my lock was fine, and there were "cameras all on over the property" to assure that I'd be safe. As I swung by my shed this afternoon (10 days after signing the agreement) I noticed that my lock was gone, and another lock was put on my unit (not from Public Storage). The facility manager called her manager and left a voice mail because she "didn't have a lock cutter or was even allowed to cut the lock". After finally getting a call a few hours later, I was told that the earliest someone could cut the lock would be two days from now. Obviously I wasn't waiting two days to see if someone had broken in, so I purchased a lock cutter and new lock ($40) and opened up my unit. Shocker, my stuff was thrown all over the place. When I notified the facility manager what had happened, her response was "do you need another lock"? Valid question, but WHAT?!?!?!?!? I immediately asked about the cameras, and THEY DONT HAVE ANY!!! I was blatantly lied to. Fortunately, not much was stolen...just a few framed Disney posters. DO NOT RENT from this facility! Here is what I believe could be happening...this is only my opinion...who ever is working here and a partner could cut the lock on a shed, and the person working could lock them in the unit while they go through everything. Even if you show up while they are in your unit, there is a foreign lock on your unit and you won't be able to get in. After notifying the manager, they tell you "they can't cut the lock" so you inevitably leave until they can get someone there to cut the lock off "in 2 days". After you leave they let the partner out. There is NO REASON you should have to wait to access your personal belongings. If you currently rent here, you should be concerned. read more

The most awful customer experience I've ever had. I was verbally attacked by the attendant at the counter. That was after I called the manager for assistance with my issue that the attendant would not assist with. I was called "OLD" by the attendant and criticized for who I am. Please don't use this storage spot. There are many storage centers around the area that will be happy to help us. I had to rate 1 star as this program won't allow to post without at least one. read more

I was a customer of this facility for 13 years, renting two 10 x 20 units for the majority of that time. Public Storage is a horrible organization to do business with and one with whom I will never do business again. They don't invest in their property, roadways are poorly maintained and dirty, unit entries constantly dirty and ends up blowing into your unit, and fire extinguisher boxes are broken and in disrepair. The employees have been nice, but completely unempowered to do anything for you and hate their employer. Public Storage continued to increase my rates at every opportunity. Every other company I've been associated with finds ways to take care of their long-term customers, but not Public Storage... they treat new customers very well to entice them to move in, but once you're in, they only seem to take advantage... there is no such thing as a loyalty program here. In telling people about my experience here, I've not run into a single person who has anything positive to share about their experience with Public Storage. Again... I'll never do business with them again. I spent a month cleaning out my two 10x20 units and secured a 10x30 unit at another provider who has turned out to be terrific to do business with. My two cents would be to avoid this provider like the plague!! read more
