This is a review of the Public Storage at 2211 Barrett Station Road, Ballwin, MO. Do not use this storage facility. As I'm sure many other storage places do, once you have committed to use their space and you have your items in storage, they raise your rent. However, the real reason I'm giving this facility one star is the poor service. On Saturday I rented a small truck and went to Public Storage to remove my items, a large couch and two living room chairs. I arrive to see a sign on the elevator that says, "Elevator not working. Sorry!" Gosh, the "Sorry!" really doesn't help a lot, given that there was no dolly on the second floor and no ability to move heavy items from the second to the first floor other than the stairs. The person in the office was exceedingly unhelpful. On Monday I wanted to ensure the facility knew that I had moved out and wanted the unit cancelled. There's no human being at either the 314 number to the Barrett Station Road facility or the Public Storage 800 number (both numbers are actually the same, they give you the same menu). Of course, after telling you to go to the app or the web site, you get the option, not to speak with a human being, but to leave a message in case someone deigns to call you back. The office hours are listed on the app as 6:00 am to 9:00 pm. I called at 2:47 pm and left a message with my phone number. I wanted to make certain they received the message, so I called again at 4:29 and left another message. It's now 5:26 pm, close to three hours after I left a message, and I've heard nothing from Public Storage. I've been wracking my brain, but it's difficult to see how their customer service could be any worse. read more

Bait and switch. Rental fee increased 35% in less than three years. Do not store here unless you want your be financially abused.

This feedback is specific to the facility at 2211 Barrett Station Road. First, I want to say what sets this property apart is Kami, the property manager. Kami was not only friendly and welcoming, she went above and beyond to ensure we we had everything we needed, responded to calls and requests immediately, and always made us feel like her most important customers. We have had a lot of experience with various storage companies in both MO and FL. This was one of the best experiences I can recall. The property was spotless, safe, and secure. The coded entry gate was always functional and the roller door to our 10x30 unit operated smoothly. The interior of the unit was clean and dry, without any evidence of bugs or vermin. Whenever we were there Kami always dropped by to see if we needed anything and ensure there were no problems. I have never experienced that at any other storage place. She was protective of us and our property and even checked some of our furniture with us to refute one of our movers. I appreciate that she showed genuine interest and concern. As long as Kami is at this location I will use it for my future storage needs and definitely refer anyone I know in the area looking for a self storage facility. read more

Den of thieves, liars and cons. Took them several months to repair the main gate, took them several weeks to fix my door. Repeatedly promised to give me credits, which I never asked for. All I asked was to be treated as a customer and to do their job. After they fixed my door, I got a statement that my unit is being raised $50.00, which is their polite way to say leave. I'm fine with that, I will NEVER rent from Public Storage again. read more

The contents of my unit and others were stolen by unscrewing the vinyl siding above the doors etc. Metal cutters were used on some units. I had items that did not belong to me inside of my unit. Management and on site person were not helpful. They have no on site security cameras. I feel that they are inside theft jobs. The police would not do much because the lock was not cut on my unit door. I do not feel that it would be safe for people to enter these security units alone. You have to get out of your car to work the keypad to the gate. Anyone could be hiding inside of here. If you entered while the break ins are occurring you could be hurts. People tail gate for entry and the gate stick open at times.. I would never recommend using public storage facilities. read more

Do not use Public storage. This location had a bad storm that damaged the roof and only certain people were notified. I was not one of those lucky few.The storm happened in April and I found out by going to my unit in JUNE...and you could see the sky from my unit. All my belongings were ruined and it has been a nightmare. Avoid! Avoid! Avoid! read more

I needed a storage unit to move my belongs into temporary until my new place was ready to move into. I have used public storage in the past and I was very satisfied with them so I of course I wanted to use them again. The unit was easy to find and being able to set everything up online made it very easy and convenient. read more

I was super impressed with the staff and facility at this location. There were many locations, so I was able to find one just down the street from where I moved to, so very convenient. The staff helped me assess my unit size needs, and each time an adjustment was needed prior to my actual move in, they were very accommodating and helpful, giving me the best deal they could, Altho I was frustrated to see a new special start the day after I loved in which would have saved me a tremendous amount of money, but my move date could not have been moved anyway. The facility was very clean and easily accessible. When I asked about mildew and such smells, they offered a quick solution I could purchase to eliminate that concern. Overall, very impressed with both facility and staff. read more

We had a great experience at Public Storage and Teresa was awesome! She made the entire process easy and showed us around the property right away. Any questions we had she could answer for us and I couldn't be happier with it. The actual building is in a great location and is very accessible. The units were clean and they have HUGE elevators for the upper floors. We were worried about being on the second floor and first but between the big elevators and carts they have for use, it was really easy. The entire process was simple and straight forward from reserving the unit online to checking in and signing the paperwork. I would recommend it to family and friends. read more

Every single aspect of my experience with Public Storage has been a nightmare! They are rude and never helpful. When I first moved in and was late on one payment, my lock was cut off right away and I had to buy a new one, immediately after this they raised the rent $30.00. Next was their water leak that resulted in water damage and mold on my furniture. They told me they didn't have time to fix it and I would have to move to another storage unit. I did not have the time or resources to move a 3 bedroom household into another storage because of their water leak. (my son had just passed away) On top of everything else, they are always rude and almost defensive instead of being helpful. I've never in my life had such horrible customer service. read more

I rented a unit here for a few months to store things during a move. The property manager was nice and went above and beyond his duty to help me. I showed up after a long drive to pick up my stuff and I found that my log in code didn't work. I was pissed because I showed up at 6:30 and the office closed at 6:00pm. My husband decided to call the office anyway and leave a message. By that point I had written off the trip to the storage as a loss. We went to the nearby Trader Joe's and within 15 minutes of leaving that message, the property manager had called us back and reset the code for us. Seriously, awesome. I never expected someone would check the messages after hours much less take the time (while off the clock) to help us out. read more

I am a current customer and called them to upgrade and received no phone call back. Called again and learned the price went up $8 a month due to their failure to call back and I was told there is nothing they can do. I asked they speak to the supervisor giving the date and name of the person and the fee's given and did not get a call back for another 5 days. Customer Service is lacking and the staff appears apathetic to this situation (unless you consider waiting all week from Sunday until after 4:15 p.m. on a Friday good customer service). read more
