Have been dealing with Nicole since I started my rental a little over a year ago and Nicole has always been courteous, consistent and very helpful. I got a unit here while making the transition from NJ to Philadelphia living. I only needed the unit for one month and was afraid that would cause an issue because they were running their $1 first months rent program. I was worried I would need to keep the unit for a certain length of time, however the woman who was working assured me that I could keep it for just one month and still only pay the $1. I think all told the cost came to just around $30 because I bought a padlock and a mattress bag. The unit itself is raised up an inch from the ground to prevent puddles during rain. The whole facility was clean and well lit. I'd definitely use public storage again!! read more

A couple weeks ago, my daughter stopped at our unit in the evening. She wasn't sure of the closing time (9:00 p.m.), and made it back to the gate at 9:01 p.m. (literally) only to find she had been locked in with NO ONE around!. She called me in a panic. I gave her the office number hoping there would be an aswering service. She decided to call the Corporate office instead. They gave her an emergency code to try, but it didn't work. They said they placed a call to the site manager, and he would call her back. I kept in touch with her by text, and told her there should be a building behind the office where the site manager lives. She said it was dark and creepy (only one light was lit), but after waiting for a while and not receiving a return call, she decided to knock on the door. No one answered. She finally decided to contact a friend at the police department, and an officer was sent out. The police have an emergency code that worked and, after almost an hour of being locked in alone, she was finally able to get out. We were concerned that she was going to have to climb the fence, leave her car overnight, and go back at 6:00 a.m. to pick it up! I can totally understand the gate locking down at 9:00 p.m. to prevent people from getting IN, but if someone is already inside, the keypad inside should open the gate to let them out. We were upset and disappointed that this happened, and even more upset that there was no one at Public Storage who could help her. I really didn't know if there was anything the police would be able to do, other than helping her to scale the fence! Also, the Public Storage web site advertises that the units are "climate controlled." Apparently, not all locations are, but this is not clear on the web site. They are over-priced, in my opinion, as well. read more

I've had my items in this storage facility since I closed my business over ten years ago to go home and care for my ailing, now deceased mother. Public Storage has been the bane of my existence ever since. It is the stuff nightmares are made of. Several years ago, my bank account was garnished in error, causing my PS payments to bounce. Of course, the garnishment was reversed and my money was replaced, but it caused my properties to go into default. The manager at the time, cut my locks, entered my units, took whatever he wanted, broke items and left my units in a state of complete disarray. I did not see the damage and theft until I moved back to Philly briefly and visited my units. When I opened the gate, I was in total shock! I was appalled by the mess that greeted me behind those gates. I informed the present property manager, to no avail. You eventually fired the thieving manager, but not before he did what he did to me. On a positive note, the girls working under that monster at the time were all kind and empathetic towards me. They made sure to call me each month to make sure I did not go into lien. They spoke kindly and seemed to genuinely care about me. I can't remember now, but I knew them all by name. They were wonderful and their kind words eased the pain I was going through. The insurance representative said they could not cover theft or vandalism, thereby leaving me with no option. The initial rep explained to me what had probably happened to my unit when the locks were cut. She said something about the manager taking inventory, but it was much deeper than that! She said that is probably when the theft and damage took place. I sent the list of the items stolen or damaged to the Turnersville police detectives and they filed a complaint for me. But, with the insurance company not taking responsibility for theft or vandalism, there is no way I will ever be reimbursed for my loss. I never again spoke to the initial insurance rep and prayed they did not fire her for what she told me about the lien process. To top it all off, I initially selected PS because the reasonable rates fit my budget. Unfortunately, once I was out of town and could do nothing about it, they kept raising the monthly rates. I eventually allowed them to be late, incurring a late payment on each every month, just so I could afford to buy food that month. Even when I found a less expensive PS unit online right near my own, rather than give me the rate for my existing unit, I was forced to pay two men to move all my belongings from one bin to another of the same exact size only several units away. I can hardly wait to be able to full afford to move my things out of Public Storage. With any luck, it should happen by the end of this year. To my experience, Public Storage is heartless, greedy and non-empathetic toward it's clients. It seems they do not realize they are dealing with real live people. Honestly, some nights I have a difficult time sleeping because of this monthly recurring nightmare! Regretfully, Novaline Tanksley April 6, 2019 P.S. Very Unprofessional. The staff refuses to accept payment over the phone. When you try to go in and pay the 1 person that is supposed to be managing the front is never there. There is always a sign on the door saying they will be back later. Also the automated phone system they tell you to call will charge you $10 processing fee for making a payment (5x more than the average). If you are late on paying your bill, they will charge you an absorbently unethical amount of late fees. Stay away from this place! Try Uhaul or another storage facility! read more

By far some of the worst service I've ever received. If you have a problem with your unit, don't expect Rebecca, who is the grounds manager to do anything about it. Even after I contacted her manger George, and never received a call back until 4 months later. It took me calling corporate, and the district manger, who wrote an email to George in regards to my units problems, is when George, the head manager for this location finally returned my call, 4 months later!! If you want an unsafe storage facility and a nasty unwelcoming attitude, this is the place for you. I wouldn't recommend keeping an empty cardboard box here. Very unprofessional, and unwilling to help the customer when it's needed. Keep your attitude, and unsafe storage facility all to yourself!! read more
