You automatically get the feeling that they're a multi-generation family business and that hey understand that their customers are their "bread and butter." They were on time, their guys were courteous and respectful of my things, and they were quick. In most cases, you want to do your homework and seek out the best price. Pat and his crew are a little more expensive up front, but remember: cheap things aren't good and good things aren't cheap. Olympia was also very flexible with our timing requirements, which required us to move out one day, have an overnight hold, and then move in late the following day. When we panicked about a week before our move and requested a second truck, Ryan (our sales rep), smoothly saved the day and found additional moving help for us. I was surprised the morning of when the movers showed up even a little bit earlier than the estimated time frame, and even more surprised when after I returned from a few errands they were almost done! The same efficiency occurred for our move-in, and they kindly even rearranged furniture for me. Overall, very positive experience during what is usually a trying time. Highly recommend Olympia!

My move last summer was so dreadful that as a new summer move season approaches, people should…read moreknow. One day was scheduled for packing and late in the afternoon the two packers decided it was the end of their work day, even though there was much more to pack. Their response as they left was, "The movers can finish packing." Outrageous. Olympia sent over two new packers the next day, but I also had to pitch in packing. The loaders were also bad, such as when they dropped a large wooden wall sculpture, breaking off a corner. They didn't tell anyone nor did they retrieve the broken piece for possible reattachment later. The damage wasn't discovered until delivery halfway across the country. The wall sculpture was ruined. There were also problems getting my sofa through doorways. The sofa and front door frame both sustained damage in moving the sofa out of the house. At the destination house I strongly suggested to the movers that the front door be removed prior to bringing in the sofa. They declined to do so and more damage to the sofa occurred as well as breaking off the original doorknob of the 1880 house. Those are some of the worst examples. Between the packers and the loaders, a disheartening amount of damage occurred to my contents, some of them antiques. I had expected, and believed I had paid for, better results. I will say that the move coordinator, Jennifer C., was excellent and worked hard to resolve problems. The moving van driver, Paul S., also clearly wanted to deliver excellent service, but was hobbled by poor helpers. Although their good reviews encouraged me to select Olympia, I had both bad packers and bad loaders. Other people have been luckier. But the outcome of your move shouldn't depend on luck. Also, at the destination, inspect your most valuable items for damage and record it on the Bill of Lading before signing it and returning it to the driver. It will be very difficult to collect for damages if you don't note damage at the time of delivery! One final word of advice: To minimize chances of damage to your biggest furniture, strongly consider removing your entrance doors before the movers arrive. They are very reluctant to do that, from my experience.

Through…read moreAirBnB, I reserved a space at 619 N. 39th St. & ultimately transferred to the location at 4031 Spring Garden St. . THE GOOD- Easy check in with coded keypads on main entry and room doors. Each space was nicely decorated with IKEA type of furnishings and contained their own bathroom, mini fridge, coffee maker, utensils and dishes. There are eateries, hospitals and transportation suitable for walking and driving. THE BAD- the buildings are poorly renovated dwellings that were done without materials to control the transmission of sound throughout the building. Any space below the top floor will result in you being subject to the constant and radiating sounds of people bumping up and down the steps and walking, furniture being moved/drug across the floor, pots clanking on the stove, opening and closing of doors (ie, refrigerator, microwave, room and front) and other sounds from vacuum cleaners, televisions, radio or people merely talking on the phone. THE UGLY- The first space was located on the first floor and contained a used coffee pod in the coffee maker, an empty soap container and mold on the shower curtain, ants and was extremely noisy. After (6) days of this, I requested an alternative option due to the noise and was offered the second space. It was on the second floor at (4031) and contained mold on the shower curtain, dead flies & mice & mice droppings on the furnishings. An unclean fork was in the utensil tray along with clean ones. An empty sugar container was in the cabinet. See photos. The host was responsive & did so rather promptly throughout. They were also polite initially and I received an apology for "The Inconvenience" with each matter brought to their attention. However, after relocating to 4031 Spring Garden St and making them aware of things not up to par there, the host requested to terminate my stay. Airbnb did not honor the request because I had broken no rules and was well within my right to make them aware of my concerns. In lieu of moving to a temporary location for (3) days and returning to the location at 619 N. 39th st, I requested compensation for the "inconvenience" experienced up to that point and was refunded the $50 "cleaning fee." After discovering rodents at the 4031 Spring Garden St location I again requested consideration for a refund of some kind and was denied because I had already received a refund for a separate incident (ants). And again, I was told a request to end my stay earlier would be made. I had (10 days remainingAirbnb was of no help in this matter as decisions rest with the hosts on matters of this type. This was the ABSOLUTE worst experience ever. For those considering a stay with RAMBLEI, you may enjoy a few days without notice of the things mentioned here. However, I would consider another option for a stay of longer duration. If you have multiple valid complaints they will attempt or threaten to have your stay terminate early. Lastly, they offer some rooms without a window. I was offered one and declined. I believe this is a major SAFETY HAZARD particularly in a dwelling with no insulation/fire barrier. Since fires feed off of air flow, this is an accident waiting to happen. Definitely NOT worth it with what they charge. ($1180.00 + a month).

Remember, as a general rule, storage rental facilities are largely unregulated which means they can raise your rent with 30 days notice to pretty much any amount they want and they know they have you on the hook because you won't want to relocate your stuff. If you get a quoted price online, lock it in for six month or a year by pre-paying if you can. ALSO remember - you can get your own rental unit insurance from any number of companies for half what the rental unit companies will charge you and bring in proof of insurance at the time you rent (but you MUST do it in person). ALSO ALSO remember - you can also bring your own secure lock and not pay $20 for one of their locks. Do all of the above and any smart reasonable manager or employee is going to make your rental process smooth and painless.
