Emails were responded to quickly, but I did not have luck connecting via phone or leaving a voice mail with Alex. I was a little worried that maybe I was making the wrong a mistake after being bombarded by calls and emails from other Yelp moving vendors, but I know it was the right choice! The job estimate was 5-6 hours based on the my inventory and the job finished in 5. Eugene called the night before with an estimated start time, sent a text the morning of with a 30 minute warning, and arrived on time. My crew consisted on Eugene, Serge & Nazar. I did a walk through with Eugene upon arrival of the rooms and items that would be moved and to where at the new location. Upon arrival at my new home, we again walked through to ensure the team understood the labeling on the boxes and home layout. When in doubt, the team asked instead of just dumping boxes in the wrong place. Prior to leaving Eugene asked if I wanted anything moved to different rooms,and straightened out my area rug after the furniture was already placed on it. They carefully wrapped furniture and mattresses with their supplies at no additional charge prior to moving, and removed the wrap and trash from the new home. Bonus: Nothing broken, damaged or lost! These guys were polite, professional, and very easy to work with. I highly recommend and would hire them again.

I work in a position that requires every aspect of my job to be in place before the actual encounter date. I expected this company to be professionals and have everything in line before the moving date. In hindsight I see why the two moving companies I called before Garden State said they would send someone over a guy to do an estimate. The movers came and said nothing to me about not being packed correctly. I left for a moment and the foreman called Nicole and said I did not pack right. I'm no professional but I thought I did a great job. Nicole decided since I had three guys, (mind you the new guy was sick most of the move) and I did not pack right that she was raising the rate from $145 an hr. to $190 an hr. and taking away the 10% discount agreed upon in the contract. My bed is not properly put together, and I can't find screws for tv stands and other things, it's just a mess. I rely heavily on honest reviews, and I am happy that others seemed to have a good experience. Not me. BEWARE!!!

Home Depot dropped it in my doorway and refused to bring it any further. I called Garden State movers on a Saturday to which a very friendly lady took all my info, explained everything I needed to know, gave me a price, and gave me the time that they were arriving within a hour. A half hour before they came I received a phone call telling me exactly when they would arrive. When the 2 gentlemen arrived they introduced they're selves with a hand shake, and they then scoped out the job first. I questioned them that there was only 2 of them, how would they be be able to lift the vanity even though they Both were pretty buff. They had the vanity and the top in the bathroom in matter of 10 minutes. They were both very careful watching that they didn't drop or bang the vanity. The amount of valuables, family heirlooms, and furniture they damaged is staggering, much of it irreplaceable. Before the move even began, communication was a disaster. I was promised a moving coordinator would contact me a week beforehand. They never did. I had to call the day before my move, and even then the coordinator repeatedly got my two pickup locations wrong. The movers arrived an hour late in a rented Penske truck with little to no packing materials or proper moving equipment. At the first pickup, a 700-square-foot third-floor apartment, they immediately complained about the stairs. My partner and I quickly realized they weren't actually working. Two movers spent long stretches sitting in the truck on their phones while the third spent nearly an hour wrapping a couch that didn't need wrapping instead of protecting fragile items. Despite asking them multiple times to keep moving and properly wrap breakables, they continued wasting time. My partner eventually carried many items from the rooftop down to the first floor himself because otherwise nothing was getting done. They even asked us to help move heavier furniture, which is exactly what we hired them to do. It took them five hours to empty a one-bedroom apartment. At the storage unit, they left belongings sitting in the hallway until I returned to help them. They also completely destroyed a large china cabinet because they didn't wrap or know how to move it. It was damaged beyond repair. After 8.5 hours to move a one-bedroom apartment and a small storage unit, they finally headed to my new home. That's when they informed me my bill had increased to nearly three times the original estimate. Once there, they ignored all instructions about where furniture and boxes belonged, piling nearly everything into one room until it was impossible to walk through. The final straw was when they left much of my heavy furniture sitting on the sidewalk in a downtown neighborhood and then had the audacity to TEXT me asking ME to come help move it. I ended up calling friends, and we finished moving everything they piled on the sidewalk in about 30 minutes, because that's what productivity looks like. To top it all off, they stood on my front steps waiting for a tip. I tipped them only because I wanted them to leave. After spending days fixing their mistakes and unpacking, I discovered even more damage, including: * Vintage Restoration Hardware media console * Vintage Maitland-Smith coffee table (glass top missing) * Three framed artworks * Shelf from my custom-made vitrine * Entire china cabinet * Two planters * Glass shelf frame * Two curtain rods I'm still finding damaged items. All My Sons didn't make my move easier--they made it exponentially harder. I paid professional movers and ended up doing much of the heavy lifting myself while paying nearly three times the quoted price and watching irreplaceable belongings be destroyed. Avoid this company at all costs. Save yourself the money, stress, and heartbreak. Run, don't walk, to another moving company, task rabbit, anything but them.

This time I used the company for their "full packing services" which was anything but professional and I would never recommend to anyone. Two individuals showed up with their giant moving truck at 3 pm the day before our scheduled move and (as expected) couldn't find parking in the middle of Center City (we were not told ahead of time that they would be bringing a truck). They leave to drop the truck somewhere and return at 6 pm to START packing. Their "professional packing" consisted of haphazardly stuffing things into boxes, including placing liquid filled bottles upside down that ended up leaking through the boxes. The entire time they are packing, the main mover is complaining to us about how little he is paid per hour compared to how much we are paying for the services. It was beyond unprofessional and so uncomfortable, I am just baffled thinking back about it. Unfortunately the same guy showed up the following day for our long distance move across states. The complaining continued through the loading and unloading process, it was extremely uncomfortable and just felt so scummy. We still tipped well and I have a feeling he didn't allocate any of the tip to the other movers as we instructed. For the thousands of dollars we spent on this move, I would rate it zero stars.
