Good thing I had the presence of mind to pack a suitcase of stuff we'd need (there was one night between the pack and the move) because these dudes came through my house like a very organized hurricane that just blew everything that wasn't nailed down into boxes. They wrapped every piece of china in layers of packing paper and arranged it in some magical way so that not one dish broke. They wrapped my unbreakable Corelle dishes from Target the EXACT SAME WAY. My entire four-bedroom house was packed in 4.5 hours. The move itself took place the next day and again the team was extremely punctual and professional. They took amazing care in bringing everything in and making sure it was placed in the right room. And once again, they got the job done in less time (and for less money) than I was originally quoted. And yes, side note, if you work with Bobby on the initial estimate, he is almost certainly going to tell you that the job is going to take longer, be more difficult, and cost more than it will actually end up being in reality. Don't worry about it, the guys who actually show up to do the job will do better than that! Huge shout out to Fred, Isaiah, Justin, Kurt, Ford, and the rest of the team...you guys were the real MVPs making a stressful time far less so!

Even after they finish loading, they linger next to their truck and in their vehicle, slowly counting cash or chatting, refusing to move until they're good and ready. Then, when you finally ask them to pull out, they shoot you a dirty look like you're the one inconveniencing them.

Market price as I write this is 2.90 a gallon. 8 years ago it was about $2.10 a gallon... and even cheaper if you could travel. It's strange that they are okay with this level of price gauging. The staff here has always been helpful and nice with the one exception of a staff member who clearly wasn't comfortable filling propane tanks and panicked and told me I still had some propane left in the tank so it is now full. I wasn't going to argue with this person as I didn't want someone who didn't know what they were doing filling my tank and putting myself, my family, and my friends at risk. Antwone is who I prefer to get when I need my tanks filled. Super nice guy, safe and professional.

This was, without question, the worst customer service experience I have ever had…read more I arrived with a confirmed truck reservation and waited in line for well over an hour and a half, only to be told that the truck I had reserved wasn't available. That completely defeats the purpose of making a reservation. The only solution offered was for me to drive to another location and return the truck 24 hours earlier than my original reservation. That wasn't a solution--it simply shifted U-Haul's problem onto me. To make matters worse, the entire operation appeared to be in chaos. The computer system was painfully slow or not functioning properly, employees seemed overwhelmed and unable to resolve even basic issues, and customers just kept piling up. The person ahead of me was also told their reserved truck wasn't available, and nearly everyone in line had already been waiting 30 minutes or more. The most frustrating part? While I was still standing there waiting for U-Haul to figure things out, I called Penske through Home Depot and had a truck reserved in just a few minutes. I ended up taking my business elsewhere because U-Haul simply couldn't deliver on the service they promised. If your move depends on having a truck when you need it, I would strongly recommend having a backup plan or choosing another rental company altogether. A reservation here apparently means very little. This location wasted hours of my day, added unnecessary stress to an already stressful move, and showed no sense of urgency or accountability. It's a huge building, units vary. There is only one elevator, so you got to wait for others to load and unload then take your turn. Secondly, the loading dock is small and depending on how small or big your car is, you may or may not fit. Sometimes you have to sit and wait for a trolly U-boat.

Remember, as a general rule, storage rental facilities are largely unregulated which means they can raise your rent with 30 days notice to pretty much any amount they want and they know they have you on the hook because you won't want to relocate your stuff. If you get a quoted price online, lock it in for six month or a year by pre-paying if you can. ALSO remember - you can get your own rental unit insurance from any number of companies for half what the rental unit companies will charge you and bring in proof of insurance at the time you rent (but you MUST do it in person). ALSO ALSO remember - you can also bring your own secure lock and not pay $20 for one of their locks. Do all of the above and any smart reasonable manager or employee is going to make your rental process smooth and painless.
