This increase is outrageous. It is unfortunate that owners of storage businesses now seem to top the list of the most unscrupulous business owners in existence. They take advantage of people simply because they can. They will get their comeuppance for their greedy behavior, because there is a God who sees what they are doing. In the meantime, I will strive to have my things removed as soon as possible, and I will never use their facility again nor will I recommend them to anyone.

I know from experience that it's hard to juggle multiple demanding people at one time, however, being the only person in the office of a certain ethnicity, it was rather obvious that my business wasn't as important as the dead-beat who kept arguiing his way into his space that he hadn't paid for in months, the lady who continually had 'one more question' - and anyone else who walked in off of the street, etc. I waited patiently for over an hour (AN HOUR!) - only to find that the original quote for the space I'd selected wasn't the amount i was told. I walked out. CubeSmart might consider adjusting their business practices to tell people UP FRONT of all their additional fees & taxes before wasting an HOUR of someones time, only to find out that a $119.00/Month space is really a $130.00/month space. This model just sucks. I'd look elsewhere before going here. I'll stick with Public Storage, for now.

Today,as I was leaving my unit after picking up supplies for a job, I saw a homeless person climb out of a boat inside the unused 2nd gate. Further, there was a homeless person sleeping in a car inside the storage unit gates. This is not the first time I've been there early in the morning and been surprised to see homeless individuals skulking out of the buildings. The gates are wide open most mornings when I arrive. Not 'open' as in someone just drove through and they haven't closed yet. No, they are wide open and remain so for extended periods. This activity renders the business unsafe. I plan to engage my City Council member to ask Code Enforcement to start surprise inspections for code violations: use of storage units as 'housing', health code violations, and drug use.

The Limerick location and its area manager are the most unprofessional staff I've ever encountered…read more Compass Storage Corporate needs to pay attention to the caliber of people they hire to interact with customers paying high dollar for sub service. My monthly due date is the 8th. Like many Americans, money is tight and I knew that I would be paying a $20 late fee - but that I also had a 5 day grace period. I started receiving phone calls on May 11 from personnel in this location telling me that I needed to pay my bill. The next phone call was on the 13th and I spoke with the representative and told her I was aware that my payment was late. All total - I received 8 phone calls and six text messages regarding my account. It was worse than a collection agency. Because I've never been this late before (groceries, gas, medication VS. paying storage who wins?) I did not know that an additional $20 was assessed four days after the first assessed penalty. I have rented from this location for over 7 years starting when it used to be Metro. I had a testy exchange with George on Saturday, who implied that I was trying to skip out on my bill and that they deal with this all the time. He also said he'd "try" to pass my concerns along to the area manager, but he's not in control of her schedule and hopefully she'd get back to me sometime this week. I was outraged and called the corporate customer service number and explained my offense. The area manager finally called me today and it was - again - an abysmal, defensive conversation. I learned that $40 is part of the "late" fees and accepted that; however, my complaint was that I was being harassed and maltreated as a longtime customer and that the texts and emails are excessive. She proceeded to interject and said she'd let me talk and now it was her turn and that because I keep interrupting her she can't help me. She essentially defended the actions of the Limerick staff and never once treated my concerns as valid. It's not about the money anymore - it's about the professional disrespect that she is green lighting. DO NOT RENT UNITS FROM COMPASS. THE LIMERICK LOCATION IS THE WORST AND SO IS THE AREA MANAGER. I cannot WAIT to get my things and leave after spending thousands of dollars over several years. The price hikes are also so out of control that it borders on extortion.
