Movers took fridge, bunkbeds apart to move. When we got to the new location they had no idea how to put anything back together as it was. Additionally, we have an expensive hutch that handles broke off and interior shelves were destroyed. I would suggest looking elsewhere. read more

This place does an absolute exceptional job. They will make sure all equipment is packed safely and properly protected. They are one of the only movers who have respect for the house, meaning they use the correct gear to make sure no floors or walls will be scratched. From college students to single family homes, I highly recommend Havertown Movers. After successfully moving all my belongings without a scratch from the place I used to rent, straight to my new house. They managed to not leave a single smudge of dirt on my newly painted walls as well as my person items. They also mentioned they have the ability to take your equipment to their own storage facility Incase you need to move on separate days. After calling all moving companies around the area, Havertown Movers are clearly the best bang for your buck, while including exceptional care to the owners belongings. I would not recommend Havertown Movers. While the workers were pleasant and polite, they were careless. I dId not see any furniture being wrapped. Several pieces of my furniture now have nicks and scrapes due to this carelessness. They seemed to be in a hurry to get done. read more

They moved us from a house to an apartment. Personnel were friendly and personable. We had to store our stuff for awhile with them so there were really 2 moves. There were some minor dings. One table had the legs broken off; they took it away and it came back professionally repaired like new. I would have preferred no breakage at all, but in the end we were satisfied. read more

Very sleazy, would never recommend. Misled me multiple times and screwed me on price after the fact. Was recommended this service (by mistake, it turns out) and told it would cost $135/hr. Moved a one bedroom apartment. At the end of the 2hr 15m it took, I was presented with a bill for $828.69, with the words 5 HR MIN written on it. When I originally called to book, I spoke to Kim, who when asked about price said "if it takes five hours it'll be about $830." I said that it was only one bedroom worth of stuff and almost certainly wouldn't take that long, and she said OK... and entirely failed to mention that it would still be the same price! She never told me of the minimum! When I called back the next day to confirm and give a final piece of information, I spoke to another person and clarified: "It's $135 an hour, right?" "Yes." Again, zero mention of a 5 hour minimum. I never would have booked this service if they told me the truth! It was one bedroom, and they knew that from the beginning! How dishonest can you be? I called upon receipt of the ridiculously high bill and was told "no, we tell everybody about the five hours, we definitely would have told you." Kim mentioned a price for a five-hour job as reference point, and never once said the word "minimum" or even alluded to it. After explaining what happened and being gaslighted by two people tag-teaming on speakerphone in their office, they finally agreed to knock an hour off the price, which brought my two hour move to just under $700. The only redeeming quality is that the movers themselves were actually capable and understanding. But even the most impeccable movers could not have made this worth the large hidden cost, and the deeply frustrating way they dealt with it. I was very excited to move into my new place, now I'm here and have a horrible taste in my mouth from their bullsh*t. If it weren't the five-hour hack, I'm sure they would have found another way to squeeze me; I just can't really believe after this whole ordeal that it was an innocent overlook on their part. (Didn't want to say this early in the review for the sake of its credibility but: the service my brother meant to recommend to me was Donohue Movers; I can't speak to them but they cannot be worse than this racket.) read more

The best way to summarize my experience with this moving company is, they move furniture. They don't move it very carefully and they aren't all that professional. The dispatcher/owner, Connie was quite pleasant though. They complained a lot, or at least one mover did, about the amount of boxes and furniture I had. Meanwhile, I had gone over in explicit detail with Connie what I had to move so why that wasn't communicated to them or why they didn't know is beyond me. I shouldn't have to listen to complaining about a miscommunication on their part. I am the paying customer and it is a stressful day moving. If they have an issue with it, they should call their boss. I had to keep reminding them to be careful with different pieces of furniture. But they got it all moved so that's why it's three stars for mediocre but wouldn't use again. read more

We've moved intrastate and interstate using different professional moving companies so we have experience with pro moving companies. Havertown movers is as good as it gets. Recently, when we relocated on the mainline, I got several bids from various local companies. I chose Havertown movers because I trusted them right from the start. They provided me with a bid that was "not to exceed" and their service did not exceed that bid. I had them pack and move our home. And, when there was an unexpected delay in getting into our new home, Constance worked with me to make sure our stuff was safe and we went with the most economical way to ride out the chaos. The movers were experienced, professional and efficient. I have no hesitation in recommending this company. My advice to you before you chose your mover is to check out their online reviews and i am sure you will see that a major competitor of theirs might be a bit cheaper, but when you read their reviews and horror stories you will see why. I was incredibly disappointed. We had used them three past times and all was great. Not so for this June 2018 move. The three guys were nice​ enough. They had very little to move but not at all interested in treating our things carefully. Before I get to that, they actually left many items. My husband had to go running down the​ street to stop the truck. And only one mover came back, the other two sat in the truck. To make this short: our bed was completely broken--it took two weeks to fix, one custom made storage piece was so chipped I had to fill in with paint​ pens, chairs were scraped and scratched, framed art pieces had broken glass, damaged frames, and one piece is missing​! Now, wouldn't​ you think with today's focus on customer service I would get a call from management? Not only did I not-and they knew about the damaged bed at delivery, but when I finally emailed I was chastised​ for not calling immediately so they could come and see the damage. That makes no sense and I wasn't​ asking for any money. If I was dishonest, I would have created the damage before​ they arrived. I have yet to hear any word about the lost piece of artwork. AND, I stressed how great they had been before, so they know I am not the type to always complain. I emailed a second time--no response. Connie was rude, unresponsive and completely unethical. I truly hate to leave negative feedback, but I think people considering using this business should know what they are getting into. Here are the positives: Jim, who came out and gave an estimate was very pleasant and had our selected moving date available. The crew showed up at 8am sharp on our moving day. The negatives: we had three pieces of furniture scratched ( and a tear in our leather sofa (unfortunately, the rip was not noticed until after they left). The guy in charge argued with me about scratches on a piece insisting they did not do it. Just what I did not need at the end of a stressful day of moving. One of the crew had to be reminded often to wear a mask, I just gave up after a while. They lost the pins that hold the shelves to a bookcase. When I returned to our previous house, there was chipped paint on the floors where the movers had run into door jambs and doors. I know moving furniture is a difficult job, but there is no reason to being just plain careless. Maybe a follow up apology would have been nice, but I guess that option is out of their customer service too. read more

I recently used this company to move me. After the move I tried to hook up my flat screen TV. It was totaled. When I turned it on it looked like smashed glass on the inside. There were two contact marks on the screen where it was obviously hit by something, plus lots of fingerprints all over the screen. When I reported this to the company, the next day, I was told that they would not accept any responsibility for the TV damage, plus they denied any wrongdoing by the movers. My $1000.00 TV was now a piece of junk. If you choose to use this company, you may want to consider moving all of your electronics by yourself. read more

Several family members worked with Havertown and were very happy with the service. We were operating on a budget and nervous about fragile items. They arrived 5 minutes early, brought a fourth man but did not charge us any more than originally planned for a 3 man crew, and they were patient with the chaos of us packing and self-moving items around them. I was less than impressed with this moving company, and would never use them again let alone recommend them. They seemed to be polite and professional, but I was distressed with what I feel was deceptive behavior. Two of my dressers were cracked in the back, and a mattress was ripped. I had no idea they did this, as they put the ripped side of the mattress face down- I did not discover the rip until I went to flip the mattress, months later. Same for the dressers, I did not know the backs were broken until I rearranged the room. I would not recommend them. read more

We had a very bad experience with this moving company. First I should say that the guys who moved us were very nice and pleasant to be around all day. However, relative to other movers we have used they were rough on the house we moved into and broke several items. Breaking several of our items was obviously not good, but I would never leave a negative review on a site like yelp just because of that alone. If this moving company had simply resolved the dispute professionally, then I would have moved on. Instead, they accused us of breaking the items, which did not happen. My husband had to negotiate with them for weeks to get them to do anything about fixing what they broke. When we finally got them to agree to replace one of the three items they broke, they sent over some guys who made a point of giving me a note accusing us or the manufacturer of breaking the item. I cannot remember the last time I have been so mad about such poor customer service. What is amazing to me is that they have insurance and therefore this should have been simple to resolve. read more

these movers go by 3 or more different names, they were hired to move my neighbor who we share a drive way with, when the truck pulled out it ripped own 4 wires from my house and 1 wire from my neighbors, also ripping my main electrical wire off my house. i was told call the cable and phone companies also call peco, well they left the wires blocking my driveway for 2 days never so much as contacting us or making sure all was safe, days later the owner woman said " what do you want me to do about it" well lucky the cable and phone companies were responsive and professional but my main electrical power line is still hanging off my house and i was told sue us in court, i looked up their insurance co " they refused to supply the information" and the insurance co i do not believe is willing to pay as there appears to be some form of minimal coverage not covering all parts of company ..
