You should avoid public storage. I had a 5x10 storage space and a covered parking space for my RV. With both, the rents were over doubled in less than a year. In the case of the RV space, I removed the RV the day the next month's payment was due and closed out my account in their app. The next day, I received a bill for the upcoming month along with a late fee attached. I called, thinking that having to pay close to $200 for a few hours was a bit ridiculous, but Public Storage does not care. Yup, contractually, they are right, but customer service? Dare, I say morally? Their staff is terrible. They are being trained to have zero compassion. The one person I talked to even BEGGED me to give him a good review after we spoke? A good review, for what? Telling me your company is going to screw me over a few hours? Oh yea, that's right, I signed the contract ... I will NEVER use public storage again, ever again. And really it's less about that final payment than it is about the bait-and-switch pricing they give you and the complete lack of customer service. They got double rent on that parking space I'm sure. But can they be decent to a disabled veteran? Nope. They can't. Well, Public Storage, you win. BEWARE OF PUBLIC STORAGE!!! We rented a 5 X 15 Non Climate Controlled February 1st 2023. Our payments were $99.14 which we thought it was pretty expensive but it's close so we rented it. Nothing in our contract says anything about raising rates but we thought rates would increase in a year. I GUESS WE THOUGHT WRONG!! Just got an Email today and July 1st we owe $132.15. Not even 6 months. Who knows when we'll get the next rate increase. We're retired and living on SS only. Renting unfortunately and our rent went up now our storage. Also it's not the cleanest storage. Looks like it leaked. I'm only letting you know so if you need a storage please check around and see what the rates are and get one that locks you in for atleast a year. We moved down from NC last July and had a storage there. It was a climate controlled plus a huge storage unit. Paid $100 for a year then the rate went up which we knew but a tiny little space in the heat paying $132.15 and it's only been 5 months. I wouldn't rent off them at all. The light in the unit has never worked. When I told the office about it, they said they had asked maintenance to take care of it, but they didn't fix it, so if I wanted anything done about it, I would need to call central headquarters and report it and, I guess magically, they would fix the light. I have been leasing this space for $283 a month since last May, so it will be a year next month. The light still doesn't work, and I stumble around in the dark when I need to get something. And last time I was there bleach was coming down from the unit above mine onto a file cabinet and 4 carry alls I had on top of it. Ruined. I'll have to file with insurance or accept the loss. The worst is the employees. But don't get me started on that. read more

This has been a very expensive error on my part. From day one what was advertised has not been honored. I was supposed to have a month free, which never happened. Then I found out (after storing my stuff) that they RAISE the price monthly without informing you. A HUGE waste of money. I would be very careful about storing your items here. read more

Had a reservation for a 10x20 unit which was confirmed. When I Arrived, the unit I reserved was no longer available and No other 10 x 20 units available. They gave it to someone else. I'm there with the moving trucks so I had no choice but to rent 2 smaller units and pay much more than I originally was quoted. Scam. read more

If I could give this Public Storage a 0. I moved my stuff out about a month ago and the girl working there was one of the rudest individuals working in customer service I've ever encountered. Before this incident I never had a single problem. I moved in fine. Paid the rental fee fine. No problems. But this woman was horrible. Had such a bad attitude and should not be working at a job that involves working with people. Just wanted to let whoever running this particular location know that she should be fired. This place is a joke. They close at 6pm and I had a 5:30 appointment to get a storage spot. I showed up at 5:33 and the lady, apparently the manager, insisted they were closed and refused to help me out. She was rude, not helpful, and clearly didn't care for getting business - get rid of her! read more

I have been to this location about 5 times now for moving items each time the store is closed with a return sign at on the window! It may say return at 11 and I show up at 11:30 and all locked up so I return at 12:00 still all locked up! I will probably never come to this location again! Very frustrating!! read more

At first I thought it was convenient, clean and everything else needed to keep my items safe and sound. It was convenient, I will give them that, other then that, it was a place I wouldn't recommend to anyone. Let me start by telling my story, I moved in in Aug 2014, rented a 10'x20' on the main level inside. It was decent and clean at the time. They had only one cart to use and it had seen better days, they still have this cart and two others now. At first I thought it odd that guys would walk in from the street, use their gate code to get in and not come out. Then, silly me, it dawned on me that homeless people were living inside the building. It raised some concerns that I had to bring up to corporate because the property managers told me it was impossible. Soon after there were "notice" signs placed by stairwells and entrances telling people that Tampa PD has access and no sleeping there was allowed. Then they had to hire outside security, a guy that just sat in his beat up car in the parking lot. For about a year, the door to get inside was broken and either stuck open or could just be pushed open, not exactly reassuring when it supposed to be secure. The one bathroom in the building is dead bolted shut, I can only assume it's to deter the homeless people living there. Every year for two years in June they would raise my rent by around $50. The first year was just under $300 a month, they $355 last year (2015) then this year it jumped up to $397. Just be aware of that. The first year they didn't even tell me they were going to, they just did, then claimed they sent me a letter letting me know. Also, when you go to leave, be sure to let them know in person the day of. The form you fill out online letting them know means absolutely nothing, they will still bill you after you vacate and ignore that online vacate form. When I called corporate about it, before even doing anything Daniel just told me I would be out of luck and even if I went over him they would just tell me the same thing. the unit is on the 4th floor and supposedly climate controlled, but it gets very hot up there during the day; to the point where some of my shoes grew white mold on them. this unit has no light in it and its very hard to see in there. the unit is advertised as a 10x10 but when i measured it, it was a foot short both ways. also the entry door needs to be forced open and the elevator was broken. read more

the employees at the local office are nice, but when they messed up on the move in date and we were overcharged it was a complete mess to get through to corporate billing to have it fixed. They argued and badgered and were so completely rude one just gives up and pays the difference because the rudeness and arguing was just not worth it in the end. Won't be using them again! read more
