The positives: the staff are really hardworking and nice. If no one is at the front office, call the number posted on the door, they will come from wherever they are on site. It's very very clean. The less great: -like aalll storage places, they raise your rent quickly. -Other tenants are not thoughtful about blocking entrance, holding elevator. Etc... -have garbage cans in ladies room! You're leaving no choice but for people to flush certain products or leave them in the floor (which I've seen). Buy a trash can and some liners for yourselves and your customers. They raised my rent 74% in barely over a year. Yes, you read that correctly: 74% in about a year. Meaning from $178 per month to $310 per month. That is how they reward loyal, long-term customers. The on-site manager (nice guy) put in a rent decrease request with corporate. When the response came back, they decreased my rent by a whopping $7, which is about 2%. I called the 800-number, and the person was curt and said there was "nothing we can do." Well, guess what? There's something I could do, which is move out and leave an honest review. THEY WILL RAISE YOUR RENT REPEATEDLY ONCE THEY THINK IT IS TOO MUCH OF A HASSLE FOR YOU TO MOVE ELSEWHERE. Avoid this by renting from a competitor. read more

They are thief's they sent me a letter saying my storage unit will be emptied if I don't pay bill by 24 February. I get a letter 5 days later stating that my storage unit was emptied because there was nothing in there. They stole my valuables I had and wrote my unit was empty so they could keep my stuff. RUN do NOT WALK from this company!!! EVERY 4 MONTHS they increase the rent. My original unit started at $119. Within 6 months I was paying over $165. They advertise the same unit 10x15 for $99 so in order to get that price I had to MOVE units. Then again they increased the rent within 4 months by another $20. The late fee is $20. This is during covid as well. When you ask for a reduction they give some excuse as it's MARKET RATE. This company has a revenue of over 2 Billion and they constantly use tricks and deception in order to pillage customers. I only give a 1 star because that is the lowest acceptable. I stored my items for about 8 months while selling and purchasing a new home. What I found once I came for my items was an active water leak that districted nearly all of my families belongings. I did pull out a insurance policy but so much is irreplaceable. I filed a complaint with the district manager to be told there is nothing can be done about it. I thought being a reputable company and such a large chain that a problem like this wouldn't happen. I was sadly mistaken. I will encourage anyone to find a better storing facility and trust a company that has better business practices. read more

She walked me to my unit showed me how to open, close and had me even test out the lock so I was sure on how to use it. What a sleazy business! They try to put me in a unit which had the ceiling collapse; then stated that" well it wasn't fixed yet". No kidding. Then, the only available unit has no rope to pull the door up and the door wont slide shut right because it doesn't line up due to no rope on the handle... How easy of a business is this to run without lying and cheating the customers?? I just need to put stuff away for 4-6 weeks and now I have been subjected to all this lowlife insurance, late fees, and underpaid employees that don't give a crap about anyone. I can see why they got sued. Hope they go out of business. Next time I'll just put my stuff under a tarp and hope for the best. read more

I've been with this storage unit since selling my home, and they have been awesome! The manager is great and very helpful, along with everyone else that works there. I just moved to a smaller a/c'd unit last week and they were very accommodating to my needs in every way, and made the 2nd move there just as nice as the first. The gate code always works great for entering and leaving, and I feel safe there when going into my storage unit, including the grounds and inside the building is always clean. She made it possible for us to register/check in online but we decided to go in person. Samantha, the manager, was friendly and professional and had us in and out quickly. This was my first experience using a storage unit. I needed a small unit to store some furniture until I can move into my new place. I mostly chose public storage for the location and $1 move in fee. Of course it's not really just $1 out the door. When I called to reserve a unit they explained to me that there's also a $22 admin fee, $11 for insurance, $11 for a high security lock and tax. So about $54 total for 1 month. Still not a bad price for what I'm getting for the money. The staff was pretty helpful when showing me the unit and filling out the paperwork. I'm satisfied overall. We've had a storage unit in this facility for over 3 years and never had any kind of problems with receiving our monthly bill in our email. For some unknown reason, we didn't receive a bill for this month, but did get our late notice with an additional $20 late fee added to the balance. I called this location and talked to Will about the problem. He offered to talk to his district manager to possibly get the late fee waived since we had never been late before.He promised to get back to me. Within 15 minutes he called me back and got the late fee waived! Even if he hadn't been able to get the fee waived, I would've been very happy with his service. He understood my situation and honestly tried to help me. He was extremely polite, efficient and is an asset to this facility. read more

It's OK, but they NEVER answer the phone. Since renting a unit 6 months ago, I have never once gotten them to pick up a call. And leaving a message is useless. Most of the corporate number extensions just send you back to the property manager that doesn't answer. When I finally got through, the CSR was abrupt and clearly wanted to go back to what ever he was doing ASAP. He said that they were having a new phone system installed so maybe that was part of the problem. Also, you have to enter a code to get OUT of the property. So if you were having an issue or didn't feel safe for whatever reason at night, you would have to roll your window down and enter a code to get out. It is a bad policy re safety of customers. Having said that, it is a decent facility, at least for the climate controlled units. Clean, has restrooms. Well lit. People who work there are very nice and helpful if you go there and just speak to them. Still...they don't ever answer the phone. Had I known this I would have chosen a different facility. I guess next time I have to ask, "If I call, will you answer the phone?" read more

The staff here saved my and my father's life when we got our truck and 16' trailer stuck around a pole. We were completely jammed up in the POURING rain and one of the gentleman here - I wish I had gotten his name- got us out. Spoke to Thad about renting a 10x10 unit. First story was that the first month was $1, then the unit would be $123/mo. Story two (next day) was that the first month was $79, sub sequential months were $133/mo. When we got there to rent the unit, we were hit with $20 for a lock, $25 administration fee, $133/mo with no first month discount, AND $11/month for insurance which he insisted was Florida Law. We were none too happy about the add ons, and found out that the insurance he signed us up for is optional...not law. When confronted with this information he was rude and continued to lie about this being Law. It was pointed out to him that there is a statement ON THE FORM that states it is optional. He was told that the insurance would not be added to next month's rental fee. Thad is unprofessional, and unfortunately for Public Storage, comes across as a two bit con man. The building itself is clean and has ease of access. With several other storage companies within a two mile stretch of Tampa Rd in Oldsmar, it would be wise to be upfront and truthful with potential customers. As far as providing a 5 star rating, it can not be done because of Thad. We are warning our friends about the deceit, and to beware. read more

The manager Iris is the best! The man that works there is also most helpful and most kind although I cannot remember his name. Diane and Kim have been great to work with too! Kim even called to check on me when she noticed all the blood on the floor next to my unit. They saved a ladder for me and stilts that my grandfather had made for me as a child in their office for over a week when they found them abandoned in their elevator. My only complaints are there is no trash can inside the climate controlled building and the bathrooms are locked which equates to no facilities or anywhere to wash your hands or go to the restroom. I was working alone one evening and sliced my finger open and there was nowhere to wash them. Additionally, when I went to get a drink at the water fountain, there was all kinds of trash sitting on the back ledge of both drinking fountains. Lastly, there is a homeless person that I have noted multiple times just hanging out on the property. Again as for Iris and all the staff, I can not say enough good about them!! read more
