Holy cow, this place is a crap hole. They've had a broken stair step the entire time I rented here. They close at 6 m-f and 5 on the weekends!!! Seriously? What kind of hours are those? Also be careful getting there. There's a lake in the parking lot you have to cross in your vehicle that's littered with potholes the size of Marianis trench! If you get locked in after hours, the management hides out in their little living space with the door open and just laughs at you. The emergency number hangs up on you if you put your phone number in. Your code will work if you remember it, but the phone app locks you in. These people are crooks. Had a storage unit with them for 5 months and then they decided to hike the monthly rental rate by almost $160 at over 30% increase from $504/month with a simple postcard notice. This is after they decided to limit hours to access only between 9:30am - 5pm or 6pm back from 8am-8pm. So less staffing costs and operating costs means charge customers more money...Hmm, sound fair to you? I of course attempted to reason with them and ask for an explanation of why my rental rate is going up so much and after a few voicemails and emails, I received one call back that I didn't get to in time and no voicemail was left with any call-back details. Continued account issues with both site people and office people saying the other would resolve. Rats chewed through wall into my stuff. Human poo, with toilet paper on top and used tampons adjacent to my storage unit. Really inconvenient access hours. We spend ~7,000 a year here, and the roll up doors are hard to open, the restrooms are a dump (and they're locked because "Covid"), the facilities are run down, dirty, and poorly maintained. At this price, we should get a remote, nice restrooms, and doors that done need a body builder to lift. Renters beware Public Storage lures you in with the promotional-pricing then after you have moved all your items into the unit they will raise the cost of your unit within 6 months. I am or will be was renting a 10*30 unit and they raised the rent on the unit by $130.00 a month in one shot. I contacted the customer service center and they basically blow you off. Their answer is its a month to month lease and basically we can do what we want. I understand that a business has to make money but when they jack the rent up over 30% it leaves you as the customer struggling with what to do with your items. It would have been acceptable to raise by 10% every 6 months but what they do is unacceptable. Once I remove my items Ill never fall for that type of ply again. read more

I rented a unit here for around $100 a month a while ago. That unit was broken into (the wooden door was ripped off its hinges, the lock was untouched). There were cameras in the hallway but were stolen. I was told later that those same cameras were not even on for weeks! The employees discovered the thefts the next morning, but they didn't report it to the police until late that evening. They stole more than half of my things in the unit which came to about $9,000. Insurance doesn't even come close and will be taking this facility to small claims court. I don't advise anyone to use this Public Storage because of very poor security and uncleanliness. read more

I was having problems with my storage place and I had to go find alternatives and I found this online with a promo which was $1 for the first month. I called and made reservations. The guy on the phone was very nice but when I got there, I was told that it takes 30 minutes to fill out the gum and because it was already 5:45pm, I will have to wait until the next day. This is definitely something that they should have told me on the phone. This asshole attendant that this info is in the email that they sent me but hey, when you're shuttling people back and forth, who has the time to check their email? They should said this to me on the phone. No amount of begging, pleasing, pleading worked with this asshole guy. Totally heartless! Who does that? Only public storage! DO NOT use this facility. I've had a car stolen from this property and was still pro rated for the days up until it was stolen. I also had another vehicle there that was vandalized due to their lack of a secure facility and no type of ownership to damaged property. Save your self a head ache and protect your property else where. I strongly advise to avoid this place at all costs. Vagrants and transients can be seen frequently walking around this area as well. Management does nothing about them at all. I recently had my vehicle towed from this facility during the day time and no one intervened or questioned what was going on. Poor service all around. I keep work equipment there, and usually after work (past 6PM) I need to drop some equipment and pick some up for the next day. Now they close at 6pm, which is not convenient at all. This storage facility offers just what I needed - a well maintained, accessible, and secure facility close to where I live in South San Francisco. It's out-of-the-way location between the train tracks and the highway actually make it feel more secure - it's completely inaccessible other than from the gated entrance. I needed a storage with ground floor access. I refuse to have to trudge all my stuff out to my truck & down to the storage, just to have to trudge it back up some freight elevator & down some narrow hallway only to be met with a logistical nightmare on how to navigate the turn into the dinky little door of the unit. So, I looked online & found a few options. One of which was Public Storage's Oyster Point location. They have drive-up units, great hours of access, online reservations & contract signing, AND my move-in cost was a total $23. 1st month was a buck, and I was able to set up auto payments so I don't have to remember to send money every month. Great price on the unit too. Simply Awsome. As I'm filling out the online info, before I'm even done, the agent from that location is calling me to say thank you, the unit IS available, & asked what time I planned on being there so he could be expecting me. I thought that was extremely efficient, and not at all the norm for customer service in storage facilities, or any other type of business. Bravo! Love it! He specifically asked if I knew how to get to the location, saying that it's a bit "tricky".(which means they are reading these yelps based on a prior review) Actually, it's a super easy access off the freeway...just drive straight across the intersection after exting from NB 101 @ Oyster Point Rd. We can be in the same situation as other people but our experience is not the same and we all see things different and its part of our uniqueness. This is my first yelp review but not my last. I should have yelped so many things but did not so I'm yelping Public Storage by oyster Point in SSF. I have had nothing but good interactions with the staff and never any problems. The grounds are always clean there. The carts are locked up but if you ask to use them they will gladly help you and if your lights are night working they will change your bulb upon request. I have a huge storage unit for $100 a month and I'm very happy with size and price. This is not my first public storage experience but it has been the best by far. Only had my things in the storage for one month and it was broken into there are no cameras on the outside of the building. There are railroad tracks, trails and open fields behind this public storage no houses or anyone to see all the homeless people constantly breaking into the facility and into storage units the police are well aware of this as I was told. The owners refuse to set up surveillance cameras and higher security measures. They don't care if your precious things are stolen. read more

The property is dirty and not kept up. You can't throw anything away and the manager will not let you use the carts. The lights don't work in the units (yes I know about the timer). The manager is friendly, but that doesn't make up for how dirty it is. The vehicles lining the driveway stick out too far and the owners are letting them deteriorate. This was my first time renting a storage space of any kind and I only rented for a little over a month, but I had a great experience! The sizing of the units on the website was accurate. I rented the smallest locker available because I only had 1 room of stuff to store and it was more than enough space. The prices are great and the insurance is also reasonable. My belongings were not damaged or stolen which was my main concern when I saw the facility. But the lock was secure and whenever I went to store or pick things up, I would see the manager--Guivy--walking through the buildings checking on things which was great. Guivy is a wonderful manager! She explains policies quickly and clearly, walks around and checks out the units, calls and ensures that you are pleased with your space and she is very friendly and kind. Come on guys. My family has stored stuff here for ten years. They jack up the rent at any opportunity. double in five years for my moms unit. The two stars are for this, we arrived during office hours at 1:15 PM. Two employees were here and neither would help us with our issue claiming they were BOTH on lunch. For an hour, ok... Here we are at 2:45 PM. Sign in window says back at 4:15 PM. We are on a schedule, trying to moving out, they are taking the self running self storage idea to a criminal level. Avoid this place or read the fine print. Also on numerous occasions their customer restroom has been locked during hours. Fine by me I just pissed on there bushes. Not so cool for my mom. So eat it and consider yourselves lucky to get that second star. read more

The Manager and staff are great but the place gets broken into on a regular basis. We were robbed twice and Public Storage still won't put in security cameras. Maybe this is why they force you to buy insurance on top of the cost of the unit. What does that tell you?! They raise their rents fairly substantially every year too. We also were never able to get the electricity to work in the storage unit. Made things difficult when the sun goes down at 5 pm and you have no light in the unit. So 1/2 a year you have to rummage around your own storage unit with a flashlight like a burglar. We stayed only b/c it was conveniently located. My husband is considering suing them for 1/2 the cost of our time there. read more
