"New customer" would get the same room for 40% cheaper. Yeah, just get the new people in and then 30 days later, they can hike the price up. There is nothing stopping them to do this.

It happens at the six month mark on the nose, it seems. These are ranging between 35 and 45 percent. each. That nice teaser rate of 100 bucks is now basically twice that. While I acknowledge that it's a free market and they can charge what they please, there isn't exactly any additional "value" being added, not "extra services", not anything period, except the privilege of paying more. I suspect that like many people I will probably suck it up and pay. I think it's time the local news stations look into this, though. I suggest that if you are looking at Public Storage, you look elsewhere first, you'll be paying more in six months time. While there are not many choices, you should pick someone else and do your research first. Finally, it's worth nothing, the 30-day notice of changes is written into the contract, but the post office cannot deliver these in a reasonable amount of time, and they conveniently never email them. Shady...if you ask me.

So we feel quite comfortable popping in there on way from Ohare Airport for family visits. The facility is very well run with great staff and is spotless. We get what we need for our 3-4 visits per year from California to see kids , grandkids, etc . So can't say enough. It's an awesome experience. It's well worth what we pay. This storage unit is full of moths that will destroy your clothes, I had everything triple bagged with thick garbage bags and they still found a way to get it. If you must use this place just beware and make sure everything is in air tight containers if you don't want your stuff destroyed. There are way more affordable units then this in Chicago.

You check in and scan your ID into a link they email to you as your checking in. I use AT&T and I had next to no service. When I asked if they had their own wifi the employee said I would be better off using my phone data since their wifi wasn't good. I walked outside and tried to get better reception for my Data, but still had little luck. I had to use my boyfriend's phone as a Hotspot. Somehow his Google Fi was getting better service which is rare. We were instructed to inspect the truck on our own. No one walked us through it. Also, next to no spaces to park your car when you pick up the Uhaul rental. Surprise same all phone pictures and using your data when dropping off too. I moved almost two years ago and didn't have to do it this way. Both times were an after hours drop off. After a long day of moving taking multiple pictures, writing in the milage and all into my phone was unpleasant. All at night and in the dark. Not sure if this was a change with Uhaul in general or just this location. Not a fan!
