I'm extremely disturbed by the increase of storage unit. I believe it's an inconvenience for a customer to have the need to move belongings because of increasing bill. I have been a customer for less than 2 weeks. I went to get an item out of my unit on 6/10/2024 at 5:30 pm and the elevator was off and the door to the stairs was locked. No one else was on site and the management didn't answer the phone. I tried again this morning and same problem - elevator is off with no one on site. I tried calling again but no one answered. They essentially are holding my things hostage. I tried contacting support through the website and they said I need to wait 72 hours. I have an item I need to ship to my customer and it is trapped in my unit with no way to get it. I cannot afford to wait 72 hours. I would avoid leasing here at all costs, no matter how attractive the rates are. read more

Do not water your time or money. This review is for the 1930 NE Loop 410 location in San Antonio. They leased me a second floor unit. The doors you can access with the mobile app only provide access to the first floor. There is an elevator, but it is not functional and there is no idea when it will be replaced. There is no access to the stairwells as they are locked and only the manager can unlock them. The problem is that there is no manager onsite. I only found out after calling the corporate office that you have to make an appointment with the manager to meet her at the site. When you call the manager's direct line you only get a voicemail and she does not return calls. I contacted corporate for a refund as I have been unable to even place items in the unit. At first they told me they don't refund the first month payment but finally understood the absurdity of the situation and issued the refund. read more

Do not use this facility. They make their own rules as they go. You now are not allowed to use their trash can even though you pay a fortune to store there. They raise your rate every 6 months. if you are a day late they lock your unit. if you don't pay by the 10th they cut your lock and go through your stuff and remove stuff. they did that to mine and told me if i hadn't paid by the 15th they would sell my unit. you plan on moving out you have to pay the whole month even if it's the 2nd or 3rd of the month. then if you leave anything near the trash can they charge you $1000.00 disposal fee. they never answer the phone when you call. I called multiple times and left 3 messages trying to tell them I was vacating the unit. Then I get there on the 2nd and they had locked my unit and no one was at the office to assist me. This place is the absolute worst place to deal with. If I had been able to move the large item out of there before now I would have moved out after the first rate hike. They raised the rate to over 400 dollars with nothing that benefited my use. All they did was take the benefits away and raise the price. DO NOT USE THIS LOCATION. read more

hi, this is for the public storage 31 meadowland, universal city. i was at my storage on june 14. cathy was working. she went over & beyond!! she helped me with my late fees so i could get into my unit. she open gate for me cuz the app wouldn't let me in. i found her walking around the property checking units in 100° weather cuz golf cart wasnt working. she had to walk all the way back up to the gate to let me in. she was a trooper! read more

Last November the Public Storage facility at Loop 410 and Ira Lee road was broken into. Subsequently it was broken into at least two more times in the next two months. It took at least three months for the local manager (Mark Taggart) to complete corrective action to improve the security situation. I stopped paying my bill until such time as the security system was installed. Finally a security camera was installed and monitored around the clock. I did not receive a bill after it was installed for several months. I raised that issue with the local manager and then I began receiving an email with the invoice in May of this year with a late fee. I indicated to her that I would monitor the situation for several months and if there were no further mishaps or failure to receive invoices I would pay the bills with late fees. In the meantime I continued to pay the monthly basic bill. This past week the local manager threatened me with legal action if I don't pay the bill in full. read more

Sammi is the rudest nastiest employee I have ever seen anywhere she will openly mock you on the phone to her friends and answers her cell phone throw hwr hand in your face while you are tring to actually do business there. She will tell customers on the phone that she won't be there in an hour because she's going to lunch as you can clearly see her eating her two bags of Whataburger. She is mean nasty and should be terminated with extreme prejudice read more

I'm not impressed with this business. Since my unit is inside and far away from the door, I need a cart to move items to and from the unit & vehicle. Unfortunately people have been stealing carts. So their response is to lock up the only cart they have left. If you work and can't go there during their office hours, you are SOL. When I complained to the lady in the office, she basically told me they didn't care. Also their "climate control" is a joke. By the time I make the long walk to my unit, I'm sweating. There's no ac...feels like crappy fans pushing hot air around. read more

Sammii was really amazing and very helpful even when I had come to see if I could pay early for my reservation she had recommended that I wait until the day I reserved it after I had explained my situation to her. I had arrived hours earlier on the day of my reservation and even being a little rushed do to it being auction day she was able to get me what I needed when the unit I had reserved was a tad too small! We also got our unit broken into twice within 30 days of renting the unit. My wife and I just recently got married. We had wedding gifts and other things stolen right before our wedding. The property manager has done nothing to improve security. We are led to believe that it is an inside job. The second time it happened, they had no idea that our unit was broken into. They said that their lock was on our unit and we had to come in and put our lock on. When the unit was open I saw our old luck with the old Shackle on the ground. Our unit was A mess. I asked the property manager if we had gotten broken into again. She said yes but not in this building. It was obvious that our unit was broken into again. Hopefully the police will do more to investigate as this keeps happening. There are many places in the area that have better security. This location only has four cameras. If you value your belongings I recommend you do your research and find a secure place. read more

This place is getting 1 star because it is the lowest it allows. Shouldn't get any. public storage can install security cameras so that when there is a break in, they can try to look into it. When a customers unit is broken into, the staff can at least ACT like they care. Every time i was broken into, I paid for boxes. After the third time, I asked for free boxes as this is not my fault and I should not have to pay for something I have paid for in the past when it is not my fault the boxes are getting destroyed, Dawn argued with me. They throw your lock on the floor and argue with you telling you it's not their fault. (Dawn told 3 other people while I was there it was not her fault). I know it is not the employees fault for us getting broken into, HOWEVER, how the situation was handled is the worst customer service ever. Will never use this company again. Please do NOT rent from this place. It constantly gets broken into. There are thieves that know how easy it is to get into this place. The management and Public Storage have done nothing except just replace broken parts and not actually fix the security problem. The district manager says that they have fixed the problem, and they came and broke into my unit for a second time. They do not care if your items get stolen. I was told by the district manager that it doesn't matter, ask any storage unit place and there will be break ins, it is inevitable and it will happen no matter what. Please do not bring your belongings here. I lost thousands of dollars worth of items, and priceless items that I will never get back. THEY DO NOT CARE ABOUT THE SECURITY OF YOUR ITEMS. if they did, they would have deterred these criminals. The first time they broke in they hit 10 climate controlled units. The SAME PEOPLE came back 3 nights later and hit 17 units. It was so sad to see everyone go through their things and see what had been stolen from them. read more
