I guess the guy at the office never actually moved me out. After hours on hold on the phone, I was eventually told that I would have to print documentation that I was incorrectly charged and take it IN PERSON back to the premises I had already vacated. Worst company ever. Nothing but bad experiences. In the few years we were there, the amount we were charged per month more than doubled. Poorly run with zero customer service. Office is empty most of the time too.

I need to put a vehicle in storage so yesterday I searched for a unit at a Public Storage nearby snd found a 10x30 that cost $250 (!!!) but was "On-Sale" for half price. When I tried to book it, the price automatically increased back to $250. I just got a call from the Public Storage facility and they told me I didn't qualify for the price they were advertising because I was already a customer. So if you are a customer of Public Storage, they think they can blatantly fleece you. Good to know. Fortunately, there are tons of other storage facilities out there. I could move out of my other units PS units but on the other hand, those sites have never tried to take advantage of me.

The units are actually smaller in my experience. I actually ended up measuring a few units after already being charged for the unit and signing the contract. Once I measured about 4 of them after already being charged and signing a contract for the unit it became apparent that the units are actually 9 x 14 size units not as they advertised for a 10 x 15. The only reason we got the unit was for the advertised size and well unfortunately it is falsely advertised. It's unfortunate that we had already signed the contract and paid for the unit because we really needed all the square footage that was advertised on their website for the unit. Any ways just thought that everyone should know about this discrepancy before committing to a contract so you can actually get the size you truly need. Make sure to have your measuring tapes ready to measure before hand unlike us.

Predatory Pricing & Exploiting Military Members…read more I am writing this to warn anyone considering Extra Space Storage, especially fellow servicemembers. I rented a unit at a rate of $54.00/month. After only three months--and while I was away on military leave--they nearly doubled my rent to $102.60. That is a 90% increase in just 90 days. To make matters worse, they claimed to provide "notice" by mailing a letter to an old address, despite having my current email address on file. Because I was on active orders, I never received the physical mail, and they failed to use the electronic communication method explicitly mentioned in their own contract. Even their own contract lists the "Suggested Rental Rate" for this unit at $70.00, yet they jumped my price to over $100.00 the moment I was deployed and unable to move my belongings. This is a classic "bait and switch" tactic. They lure you in with a low rate, wait until your life is packed into a 10x15 box, and then gouge the price knowing how difficult it is for a customer (especially one on orders) to move out. Prospective Renters Beware: The "low move-in rate" is a trap. Expect a massive hike within 90 days. If you value ethical business practices and support for the military, go elsewhere. I have already attempted to resolve this. Unless you are prepared to honor the $54 rate or the contract's $70 suggested rate for a servicemember on leave, I will be moving forward with my BBB and JAG complaints.
