I'm new to San Antonio, so you don't know this about me yet, but I don't give out 5 star reviews willy-nilly. 5 stars are for those who go above and beyond. 5 stars are for the cream of the crop. And here I am giving one of my rare 5 star reviews, so you can imagine how stupid I feel because I forgot her name. I told myself I wouldn't do that and I did. My stupidity aside, this is your place and she is your gal. First, I ordered a unit online and that was so easy. Then I called and organized the delivery of moving pods. Which sounds easy, but working with moving pods was harder than I thought it would be. And she was so nice through all of my confusion and went out of her way to help me. Which I really appreciated because I was very stressed out at the time. Then the moving day came and I had issues with the moving company and the pod company and organizing the two. I spent the whole day in the parking lot waiting on people. And I ended up having to go into the office several times that day, for various odd reasons. Every time, she had to get up and come open the door. I felt really bad about that. But she continued to be smile-y and helpful. It was a hard, painful day for me and she was the bright spot. Thank you, B--something. Oh, it's on the tip of my tongue. Paying the bill is really easy. I pay by phone, but there are, like, 3 or 4 other ways. I have a great unit. The grounds are secure. I've been a customer of US Storage Centers for over a year, and they initially offered some great rental deals. However, they gradually increase the rent for the same unit, which is a blatant scam. They also claim that the unit's price will increase in 30 days, but a few days later, they charge the new price that was supposed to be implemented 30 days later. The company is incredibly unprofessional and unresponsive, especially the management. I've visited their office three times to address these issues, and they promise that Yolanda Pena will contact me. She never does. I've also called their number and spoken to the call center, who assures me that the property manager will contact me. Yet, she never does either. Overall, US Storage Centers is a terrible company that shows no regard for its customers, rent elsewhere. read more

Be aware that US Storage may increase rates at any time. My rent increased multiple times (the first in less than a year), including one significant increase well over typical inflation (lowest increase notice was 25%, up to 59%). I was often told that local staff could not see or control these changes and that adjustments required approval from corporate. I was also billed monthly for a "Protection Plan" despite providing proof of my own insurance, and only received a partial credit after raising the issue again. In addition, a small recurring charity charge appeared on my bill that I did not knowingly opt into. When a card on file expired, my account was assessed a substantial late fee before any notice was sent, despite the company having my email and phone number for other communications. While the fee was eventually reduced, it required additional effort. They should have notified me before applying the late fee and allow me to update my new card info. I ultimately moved to a competitor and have had a much smoother experience (proactive communication, locked in rates for a duration, etc.). I recommend closely reviewing your monthly statements and being prepared for rate increases well above anything inflationary or covid related. I'd rather they simply post higher rates up front vs what felt like bait and switch. It was exhausting working with this company. They raise the rates every 6 months by 20% my door has been broken for over a year they refuse to fix it, say they'll press vandalism charges if I repair it myself. The asphalt is crumbling. They're incredibly rude and act like you're bothering them every time you call. Worse storage place ever! Go with anyone one else besides this company read more

These guys were amazing, Mark was super helpful and informative and he even gave us the contact info for a moving company. The location is perfect in comparison to where we are building are home so it will be super convenient. The office is super clean and accesible, plus they gave me a piece of mind that it has 24/7 digital surveillance and hours to come in and out from the facility. They raise rent every few months, and security is weak - the keypad used to get in allows any code to open it. Also, they lock you in/out after 9:00...I recommend a better place. There is new competition being built around here that would be better. read more

Mark has been incredibly helpful throughout this entire moving process! We needed to find a unit to store our entire house while we waited for our new house to close and he was super transparent throughout the whole conversation and saved me a ton of money on their Christmas special! Buyer beware. I have little experience with storage companies. However, based on my experience with U.S. Storage Centers I conclude it must be built into their business model to soak their customers with regular and repeated rate increases. I have been notified of rate increases every few months. The local staff have been helpful to negotiate reduced increases. I have been told "corporate" is responsible for the rate increases. It is doubtful this could be done for a rental property such as an apartment. If I had known in advance I would not have signed-on with U.S. Storage Centers. read more

The units are trashy, full of holes, rats and falling apart. They don't care about anything more than taking your money. The customer service is horrendous. The manager was only concerned about making sure he was paid and blames everything regarding the horrible conditions on the customers. While waiting for the manager to show up another customer wad in the office shutting down his account for the same reasons. The manager still would not acknowledge that his business is failing becuase of the way he treats his customers. This is a company that only wants to drain wallets. Do not give this company your hard earned money. read more
