I used Public Storage for a few months while selling my house. I found the place to be clean and secure enough. Staff was friendly for the most part. They had a strange after office hours attendant or something who creeped me out at least a little Hung out in the elevator lobby watching movies and smoking a pipe. Strange dude. They do have two or three flat dollies. They could probably use 2 or 3 more. Search online for the best rates and book that way. read more

Elevators haven't worked for a month. You can get UP to the 3rd floor but you can't cone down unless you use the stairs. Pretty inconvenient with a bad knee. read more

I would like to give a five star shout out to Bruce Block. I have been thinking about getting a storage unit. Bruce was extremely helpful and answered all my questions and more. I would highly recommend Bruce. Jim read more

RENTER BEWARE! You'd better read this because trust me, you will never read your rental contract. If you close out your account on the first of the month (like, on the date you'd move into a new house or apartment), Public Storage will CHARGE YOU FOR AN ENTIRE MONTH. I moved out the afternoon of July 1 and was charged for an entire month, or 600% of the half day my stuff was in their storage facility. This is a patently unfair policy and the very worst kind of corporate bad behavior. The site manager said that he'd talk to his supervisor and I'd get an email. No email. Next thing you know was a call from a collection agency. I told them to F-off. Then I called customer service and I got the usual mealy-mouthed excuse of "well, that's company policy and while I understand your situation, there's nothing I can do about it." In my entire time on this planet I've never come across any company that was this rigid. Utter B.S. So if you like being completely screwed, use Public Storage. But you'd better clear out your crap at the end of the month. Oh, what's that, you can't move into the new place until the first of the month. I don't have any suggestions. Maybe you should put it in a storage facility...or, maybe not. To the corporate management of Public Storage--there is a special place in hell for you uncaring bastards who take advantage of people who are stressed out by moving. I hope your facilities stay empty for all eternity. read more

This review is about my experience at the public storage 140 Everett Anyway I believe all the orange doors public storage are linked to each other, so please stay away from them this company is very deceitful they're offering low price just to bring people in. As soon as you in they will raise the price by $20 and send you a letter to an old address assuming that you had moved out that's the reason you had to get a storage room ,so they can over charge your account without realizing of their trick read more

Moths! There are MOTHS in this storage. They also keep raising the rates! Each year they increase monthly rates $60 each year. . Intro price of $236 will be $350 a MONTH after 2 years. Once you're in the screw you, because it's hard to move your stuff out. read more

I didn't really have any complaints during the time I was renting a unit. It was easy to arrange the rental on-line and I never had any trouble with the gate or the hours. I set up auto-pay and that was convenient. HOWEVER... I cleaned out my unit on June 27, and went into the office to make sure they knew I was out. I showed the guy that I had my lock and he said I was all set. On July 1, the monthly fee was taken out of my account which, okay, it was only a few days later so understandable. I called the office and was told the money would be redeposited into my checking account. It wasn't. Then on August 3, they took the money out AGAIN. I called and was told that I'd get the money from both months refunded to me. Well, it's 8 months later, and despite my making multiple phone calls and stopping in in person, I'm still fighting to get my money back. I've left phone messages for the higher up manager and haven't ever gotten even a call back. Take your business elsewhere. read more

Increasing fee by $85/month after just a few months into my contract. Enough said.

So I opened a storage unit at the Salem mass spot. This girl named ANNA was my go to assistant . Very knowledgeable and very attentive to make sure I received my gate code#,and explained the details of locks, and unit# and a true public assistance please thank her for her kindness , God bless her calma ! 7 stars if I could juanamillion read more

This is my second unit with this facility and wow have things changed since the first time around. First, let's talk about the hours. They are utterly ridiculous. You can only get into this place when the office is open, so good luck getting into your storage unit that you pay your hard earned money for if you have a 9-5 job. Go on the weekend, you suggest? Have fun jockeying for position with the other 75 people poorly backed up to the doors. Oh and godspeed if you want a cart to assist you in carrying your belongings. Secondly, the gates are always in some sort of disrepair. It is obnoxious. When I do manage to get time off work to go to my unit, since I am denied access post-6pm, I never know how many times I'll have to drive around the block to find the working gate! And let's just say the location is not *super* convenient for just nipping 'round the other side. Thirdly, after changing to their insanely inconvenient new hours, they had the nerve to raise the rent! You might as well call it a dump instead of a storage facility because this is the place all of our stuff is going to rot for all eternity since it requires an act of Congress to get inside. I'm unsure exactly what I'm paying so much money for. Does Public Storage corporate actually hate this location and that's why all of us are being punished? read more

It was very easy to network and get inside. I like how you can use the app for the gate opening. It was a bit unsettling seeing what looked like a hatchet or axe dent in the very first unit as you enter. Asides that, there were flatbeds there and ready, they need to be either updated or serviced as they are very very loud to use. They get a lot of use though! Was great to be able to go and unload in one trip! :D the unit was easy to find and the lock was right behind the door when we opened it. Very nice. It was bigger than I thought so I might have to downsize!! I am glad to know that the stuff will be close by till moving day. read more

They have Terrible service. unexpected raised fees. My rent increased by 85 a month for no reason. Insurance sucks they don't cover anything. no one is ever on site to help you have to sit around for a hour or two till they return from god knows where read more

A great find in downtown Salem, this modern storage facility is climate controlled, clean and reasonable priced. Their staff was pleasent to conduct business with and were a compliment to this new business. For customers with units, you get whatever you paid for in terms of storage area. However, on site are also clean bathrooms, water bubbler and a few industrial dolleys to transport your goods. I would have given five stars if I didn't have to get out of my car to open the first set of coded gates and if they provided a few more dolleys. read more

The gate is usually broken or gets stuck, sometimes I have to put the code in a few times for it to work and people can be rude about sharing the carts. BUT the girl in the front is super friendly and keeps you up to date on what's going on. I wish the hours were later but I'm not too worried about it. They have camera's and you have to enter the code again to get into the facility, which is reassuring. read more

Renting a unit is super easy online, they called me to see if I had any questions and were very open to answer all of them. On the day of move in, they were also super helpful in getting me started and showing me my unit and well as adding another person to access the unit. They also pointed me to the app and told me how it even helps you open the gate. Without their help I would probably had a harder time. I've only been renting for a little though so definitely will update if things change. read more

Given this being a newer building I thought this place would be great. BUT, not so much. The bathrooms are disgusting. Beyond filthy there is no SOAP, no paper towels and CLOSED after office hrs. REALLY? We spent a long trip after a long day of moving to arrive and find no venue to use the bathroom or wash hands? Outside the doors is often some gross nasty something less than courteous tenants leave behind, and not cleaned up by Public Storage but sporadically. My unit does not have lighting. It's dark. They claim climate control, but over the summer months it's been hotter than hell inside that bldg. The elevators are painfully slow - to the point where you initially think they are not working. Painful when you're paying movers by the hour or trying to keep your days project quick and simple. The staff is great. Overall -surprisingly disappointing. read more

The worst storage company they go up every year and make you pay for there locks and unreasonable hours for people on weekends to get to get into their storage units. each year they go up more and more in there rental cost once you rent from them a 10x10 201.00 a month is crazy and if you pay by debt they charge you a extra 10.00 convence fee and if your late it's a 30. Late fee so to me they are a good storage they are milking the customers read more

Very helpful staff and great space. They don't always answer the phone but will respond quickly if you leave a message. I messed up and accidentally booked two units online and they were very gracious in helping me correct my mistake. read more

We needed storage space quickly as we were clearing out a rental property. Within a few minutes of registering online, we were given the storage unit number and were all set to bring items over. Because it was done online, we didn't have to meet up with anyone to sign paperwork or anything. In fact, this review has taken me longer to put together than the time it took me to get a storage unit. read more

Although Selena tries her best, (she helped me on my first day) ,I'm surprised she still works here considering how deplorable the place is. The real experience of renting a storage unit depends on ease of access, cleanliness, and the condition of the storage unit and facilities. Without a doubt, this place gets poor marks in every category; 1- Very limited hours of access. Who heard of a business not open till 0930 on a weekday? They should be open 0700- till 2000. 2-broken elevators almost every day, and painfully slow when they work. 3- Poor lighting in the storage units and public areas. 4- Filthy bathroom, often without toilet paper and paper towels, was out of order for several days 5- gates often are not working, so they just leave them open.. So much for security. ;-( Very expensive for the poor value. I look forward to storing my stuff somewhere else. read more

Believe all the bad reviews. This place is awful. Rates went up after 3 months. If your 4 days late, 23 dollar late fee and phone calls begin. 8 days late they cut your lock off, put theirs on and lock you out. Worse than the worst credit card companies. Go to Congress street, where they treat you like a human. read more

Recently just rented a space here. Seems like a decent and clean place and the girls working the front desk on the weekends are very professional and work hard to make it a pleasant experience. My only fault to date with the place is they only have 3 carts available for customers to use to move belongings between your vehicle and your storage unit. Seems like something the manager should be on top of. For a place this large they need at least double that. I'm surprised they skimp on the carts since it's such a huge part of moving in. Without a cart available your move will take much longer and can be back breaking. Hopefully they rectify this soon and spring for additional carts. read more

I don't even think that this place deserves one star. This might be the worst storage facility known to man and their staff is a waste of air and that goes right up to senior management. Thoroughly disgusted and will not recommend any Public Storage facility not even to my worst enemy. This company is deplorable. read more

If service is important to you, this is your place. Selena is exceptional for customer service. She helped me with several moving issues, none of which were related to the facility. This location is absolutely terrible. I cannot wait to get my stuff out of there. It is dirty. The gates are broken which is a major inconvenience to the customers. I mentioned to the girl working there that the bathroom was really bad (literally not cleaned in weeks) and she said it was the customers who make it dirty. They raise the price & cut the hours. I emailed corporate never heard back. They really need to look at this because it is disgusting. read more

I first called and spoke with Selena. Her friendly, helpful manner made me feel very welcomed. My son and I met with Selena on the day I began to move in. She was courteous, friendly, and knowledgeable. She toured the facility with us and showed me to just the right unit for my needs. She walked me through the paperwork and helped me to select packing materials to prepare for the rest of my move. Selena made me feel confident and secure in my choice of facilities. The facility is clean, safe, and very well-managed and staffed. read more

My monthly storage fees were increased yet the quality of service delivered decreased significantly. The service is dreadful. One day showed up and was locked out as access to storage location had not been opened DURING business hours, called customer service line as no staff on site in office and left 3 messages but never heard back! Another customer realized a side door could be forced open so we gained access without our security codes - so much for Secured Storage... During winter the entire entry point was covered with ICE as no facilities maintenance. Picking up items was a nightmare as so unsafe - customers were helping each other to navigate the danger and again no one answered when called customer service and no staff on site during open hours. Security Issue - homeless people come out of the storage unit with their shopping cart of stuff - these are NOT storage renters so they must have also discovered can open the side door with no access code. SHAMEFUL MANAGEMENT. read more

I was a customer here several years ago and wouldn't recommend this place to my worst enemy. The security gate malfunctioned frequently so it was left open, the place was filthy with discarded furniture and trash left in the hallways, the security cameras didn't work (I found that out when I had some items stolen), the manager (at the time was Sue) was dishonest, and worst of all, there were people LIVING in the units. Management knew about it because it was a joke among employees at the Danvers Public Storage, where I also rented a unit. The place is not in a good part of town and I was very uncomfortable being there in the evening, especially knowing the security gate and cameras were nonfunctional. read more
